Coach Bruce Boudreau reiterated that Jared Spurgeon (hamstring) will be a game-time decision Wednesday night.

Boudreau intends to limit the blueliner's ice time if he does play, so don't expect him to log 30 minutes. That also indicates that he's likely to return to the fold. Additionally, Spurgeon did some power-play work in Minnesota's morning skate. He should be considered probable to play at this time.

Spurgeon has been sidelined since March 13 against the Colorado Avalanche. The 28-year-old blueliner is an important piece at the back for the Wild, averaging over 24 minutes a night in 61 games this season while picking up 37 points. In a change of plans, Jared Spurgeon (hamstring) won't be joining the Wild during their trip to California.

Spurgeon was never expected to play in any of the Wild's final three games anyways, but traveling with Minnesota left the door open for him to practice with the team. The Wild will probably be opting not to practice on Friday now though between their games on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. With that in mind, Spurgeon is just going to continue to skate in Minnesota in the hope of him practicing early next week instead.

Jared Spurgeon (hamstring) is expected to join the Wild in California before Saturday's regular-season finale.

It's unclear if Spurgeon will be back before the playoffs, though. "It's not a question of him resting; we want him healthy for the playoffs," coach Bruce Boudreau said Tuesday. "If we were to bring him on the trip, he'd be 50 percent with the case of potentially getting hurt again. We want to make sure (he's good). He's not a guy that's going to take five games to get ready for the games. He will be ready and we want him 100 percent."
