Dillon also chipped in with a blocked shot and two hits in his 20:29 of ice time. He has managed just three goals and 18 points over this season, but he is on a five-game point streak with two goals, four assist and a plus-5 rating. He is still only worth using in deeper seasonal play, but he isn't a bad low-cost DFS option while running hot.

When Dillon broke into the NHL with Dallas he was playing a big role, but that's declined in recent years. In 2013-14 for example, he had 17 points in 80 games while averaging 21:06 minutes, but so far this season he's logging just 16:11 minutes per contest. He's still a decent source of penalty minutes (35) and hits (114) though.

Brenden Dillon is expected to play on a pairing with David Schlemko this season.

After the Sharks acquired Roman Polak from the Maple Leafs last season, he and Dillon formed a physical pairing for the Sharks. Now, with Polak gone, it sounds like Dillon and Schlemko will have an opportunity to play together. The Sharks signed Schlemko this summer after he played the last season in New Jersey. Expect this to be a solid defensive pairing, but neither player will provide much in terms of standard fantasy value.

"It's unreal," Dillon said. "It's crazy to think of guys like Pauly Martin or Brent Burns, these guys that have been in the league 11, 12 years, and this is the furthest they've gotten in their careers. I think the biggest thing for the younger guys that are having our first taste of playoff hockey ... every shift is so important and every game is big, but enjoy it too. It's pretty cool."
