Brenden Dillon has been a nice addition for the San Jose Sharks.
The Sharks acquired Dillon from Dallas on Nov. 21. "I think he’s adjusted really well. He's very astute," Sharks coach Todd McLellan said. "Asks questions, he's inquisitive, wants to know how we do things. … He's very coachable that way." Dillon doesn't contribute much offensively which makes him a non-factor in standard leagues, but he does benefit San Jose with his physical and defensive play. Dec 16 - 11:25 AM

Brenden Dillon made his San Jose debut on Saturday, alongside Brent Burns.

Dillon was dealt to the Sharks on Friday and had trouble with the airlines as his equipment was misplaced on a direct flight to San Jose. Nevertheless, he managed to get it and played 21:20 and had four hits with a blocked shot. Look for his hits to improve as he had only 27 in 20 games with Dallas.

The San Jose Sharks will have new defenseman Brenden Dillon in their lineup on Saturday ... at least if his equipment makes it on time.

The big 24-year-old has limited fantasy value in "grit stats" areas, as he has 23 PIM and 27 hits in 20 games so far this season. The 2013-14 campaign is more ideal: 86 PIM, 168 hits and 149 blocked shots. Still not a huge factor, but he can help in peripheral categories.
Nov 22 - 2:29 PM

The San Jose Sharks have acquired Brendan Dillon from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Jason Demers and a 2016 third-round pick.

Dillon has a points and 23 penalty minutes in 20 contests this season. His fantasy value is limited in standard leagues, but he is somewhat noteworthy in leagues that value hits and blocked shots.
Nov 21 - 3:33 PM

Brenden Dillon has agreed to a one-year deal with Dallas worth $1.25 million.

The 23-year-old defenseman averaged 21:05 of ice time in 80 games with the Stars last season. Dillon registered 17 points, 86 penalty minutes, 168 hits, 149 blocks and a plus-9 rating.
Oct 2 - 5:29 PM

Brenden Dillon's agent, Jarrett Bousquet, said that a two-year offer for $1.9 million a season was rejected by the Stars on Tuesday.

"It's frustrating and disappointing, and I know Brenden feels that way," Bousquet said. "There is a market out there for him to be paid even more than this, so this is an offer that we think should get things done." Dillon remains unsigned with training camp coming to a close and the regular season on the horizon.
Oct 1 - 3:15 PM

Restricted free agent Brenden Dillon still hasn't signed a new contract with the Dallas Stars.

Dillon has now missed over one week of training camp because he is holding out for a new deal. It doesn't seem like the two sides are close to reaching an agreement. The 23-year-old registered 6 goals and 17 points and averaged 21:05 of ice time last season. It's still early but it's becoming increasingly possible that Dillon could miss some regular season games.
Sep 28 - 12:36 PM

Brenden Dillon is working out in Vancouver, while he waits for a contract to be worked out with the Dallas Stars.

He's coming off his entry-level deal and played well for the Stars last season. Dillon posted 17 points, 86 penalty minutes and a plus-9 rating in 80 games. He's also a strong contributor in hits and blocked shots.
Sep 18 - 12:58 PM

Brenden Dillon is a restricted free agent for the Dallas Stars as training camp draws near.

He skated in 80 games with the Stars last year, while compiling 17 points, 86 penalty minutes, 168 hits and 149 blocks. Dillon completed his entry-level contract, so a bridge deal could be in his future.
Aug 29 - 2:31 PM

Brenden Dillon returned to action Friday night after being sidelined since the end of the regular season with a lower-body injury.

He had 27 shifts and was on the ice for 20:18 and seemed to get through the contest without any setbacks. That said, Dillon was directly responsible for the Ducks' fourth and fifth goals in a 6-2 loss as he made a bad pass that led to a Jakob Silfverberg marker and was knocked off the puck by Corey Perry that led to a Ryan Getzlaf goal.
Apr 26 - 12:39 PM

Brenden Dillon (lower body) will be a game-time call on Friday for Game 5.

He's been sidelined since Dallas' last game of the regular season. Dillon had 17 points and 86 penalty minutes in 80 games this year.
Apr 24 - 1:52 PM

Brenden Dillon (lower body) will not return to Dallas' lineup for Game 4 on Wednesday.

Dillon was previously referred to as a long shot to play on Wednesday by Stars coach Lindy Ruff, so this news isn't surprising. That being said, he might be available for Game 5.
Apr 23 - 12:29 PM

Brenden Dillon (lower body) participated in the Stars' practice on Tuesday.

"Today was a big step," Dillon said. "I've skated the last two days on my own. I guess I was the best player on the ice the last two days being on my own, but being out here with the guys today was good, getting up to the pace. It is feeling better and better." Stars coach Lindy Ruff cautioned that he's still a long shot to return for Game 4. Dillon hasn't played since April 11.
Apr 22 - 6:37 PM

Brenden Dillon (lower body) skated before practice on Sunday.

"He skated this morning for a short period of time. He's better," coach Lindy Ruff said. "He may have a chance to skate with the team tomorrow, so we're advancing. But he won't be ready to play." He hasn't played since Apr. 11 and his lower-body injury has prevented him from playing in his first career NHL postseason game.
Apr 21 - 12:18 PM

Brenden Dillon (lower body) might skate with the Stars on Sunday.

Even if Dillon does, he still might end up missing Game 3 on Monday. Dillon has missed three straight contests dating back to the regular season.
