The Flyers have sent Oliver Lauridsen back to the minors.

Well that was quick! Lauridsen was recalled yesterday and sent back last night. He had a cup of coffee but we do not think that a meal was included before he was sent back. Lauridsen played 10:26 and was a minus-one in his first NHL game of the season.

Oliver Lauridsen was called up from the minors.

The Flyers were in desperate need of defensemen with a couple out with injury and a couple down with the flu so Lauridsen was recalled and made his seasonal NHL debut. He played 10:26 and was a minus-one. Expect to see him back in the minors once Mark Streit and Carlo Colaiacovo recover from the flu.

Oliver Lauridsen has been returned to AHL Lehigh Valley.

Lauridsen has five points and 73 penalty minutes in 39 AHL contests in 2014-15. He didn't end up playing for Philadelphia during his brief NHL stint.

Oliver Lauridsen has been promoted by the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Flyers needed reinforcements after losing defensemen Carlo Colaiacovo and Nick Schultz to upper-body injuries on Monday. Colaiacovo is considered questionable for Tuesday's contest and if he's healthy enough to play then Lauridsen will probably end up being listed as a healthy scratch. Otherwise, Lauridsen should make his NHL season debut on Tuesday. Lauridsen has five points and 73 penalty minutes in 38 AHL contests.

Oliver Lauridsen has been cut from the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp roster.

Lauridsen had three points and 34 penalty minutes in 15 games with Philadelphia last season. The Flyers have a defensively logjam going into the season, so Lauridsen was a long shot to make the team. He might be one of the first players called up as an injury replacement though.

Oliver Lauridsen inked a two-year, $1.2 million contract extension with the Flyers.

Lauridsen was a restricted free agent. Interestingly, the contract is a two-way deal in the first year and one-way in the second. The blueliner was taken by the Flyers in the seventh round of the 2009 draft. He had three points and 34 penalty minutes in 14 NHL games.

Oliver Lauridsen has impressed the Flyers in his short time with the team.

The rookie blueliner has only played in 14 games, but he has goals in two straight -- including the winner on Thursday -- and was a physical force in the last game with four hits and four blocked shots. "When you come up and make an impact with the big club, you start to talk about that person and start to look forward to the future with that person," Laviolette said. "Somebody who brings his size and his presence onto the ice, I think is a positive. He's a towering man, he plays with a physical edge, and he's kept the game simple up here."

Oliver Lauridsen recorded his first NHL goal Tuesday night in a 5-2 win over Boston.

He received credit for marker after Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara scored on his own net when he tried to pass the puck back to goalie Anton Khudobin. Lauridson also posted a plus-3 rating in the contest and had two hits during his 19:05 of ice time.

Philadelphia defenseman Oliver Lauridsen made his NHL debut on Saturday.

Lauridsen isn't much of an offensive threat but he is a big guy. The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder has a goal, five assists and 77 penalty minutes in 59 games for the Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL this season. The stay-at-home defenseman, was recalled from the Phantoms because of Braydon Coburn’s separated shoulder. "Obviously I was a little nervous at the start," he said. "It felt really good to get the first period out of the way, and then my instincts kind of took over after that."

Oliver Lauridsen will make his NHL debut Saturday afternoon against the Bruins.

The Flyers defense is depleted due to injuries to Nickalas Grossman, Andrej Meszaros and Braydon Coburn and Lauridsen was called up to fill the void. He isn't much of an offensive threat but he is a big guy (6'6", 220 lbs) and does throw his weight around so he may be a modest source of PIMs.

Philadelphia Flyers recall Oliver Lauridsen from AHL Adirondack.

Lauridsen has one goal and six points in 59 games with the Phantoms. He also racked up 77 penalty minutes, which could an asset to some fantasy owners if he duplicates that in the NHL.
Fri, Mar 29, 2013 11:38:00 AM

Oliver Lauridsen has signed an entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Lauridsen's deal won't start until the 2011-12 season. He has nine points and 51 penalty minutes in 37 NCAA games this season.
