Ben Chiarot (hand) has been activated from injured reserve.

There's a good chance he'll be back in the lineup on Monday night with Toby Enstrom suffering from an upper-body injury and Dustin Byfuglien suspended. Chariot hasn't played since Feb. 21 because of a hand injury.

Ben Chiarot will miss the next six weeks with a hand injury.

Chiarot has been moved to the injured reserve list as a result. He has eight points and 22 penalty minutes in 36 contests this season. He might return with enough time to play a few games before the postseason begins, but this will cost him the vast majority of what remains of the regular season.

Ben Chiarot didn't finish Winnipeg's game at Toronto on Saturday night.

He went to the locker-room after his serving his fighting major and didn't return, so he was probably injured during his fisticuffs with Leafs winger Daniel Winnik. An update on Chiarot's status should come at practice on Monday.
Feb 23 - 7:54 AM

Ben Chiarot was praised by coach Paul Maurice for his improvements during his time with the Jets.

He's been a steady defense partner for Dustin Byfuglien and it doesn't look like he's going anywhere. "Guys start thinking they've got to do more and different and all I said was play that game for the rest of your career and you'll never have to play another game in the American Hockey League," Maurice said. "That sounds nice and simple, but the consistency in playing that game is the real challenge."
Jan 29 - 10:01 AM

Ben Chiarot scored his first NHL goal in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Chiarot added an assist and was also a plus-4 in the game. The 23-year-old has found some chemistry with his defense partner Dustin Byfuglien. Despite the solid offensive performance on Saturday, Chiarot probably won't produce points on a regular basis going forward. "Scoring against my hometown team on Hockey Night in Canada and the way it went in too — it worked out pretty great," said Chiarot after the game.
Jan 4 - 9:30 AM

Ben Chiarot has averaged 20:20 of ice time in four appearances with the Jets.

He has formed a solid pairing with Dustin Byfuglien on the back end. Chariot has two assists, six hits, 10 blocks and a plus-5 rating since being called up by Winnipeg earlier this month. He has made the most of his opportunity so far and he's earned the praise of coach Paul Maurice along the way.

Ben Chiarot practiced alongside Dustin Byfuglien during Thursday's practice.

The duo appears to be Winnipeg's second defense pairing. The Jets have big skates to fill on the back end with injuries to Zach Bogosian, Tobias Enstrom and Grant Clitsome. Chiarot has dressed two NHL games in his career, including one this season, but he's poised for a larger role now.

Ben Chiarot has been solid during St. John's playoff run.

"He's been real steady. He's kept things simple and played the way he needs to in order to have an opportunity in the NHL," said IceCaps head coach Keith McCambridge. "Playing big, playing physical, being a strong defender, making good first passes and being a key piece on the penalty-killing unit. He's doing all of those things with a good level of intensity."
