Atkinson scored the empty netter and he assisted on the game-tying goal from Boone Jenner with 21 seconds remaining in regulation. Atkinson has points in three consecutive games and a recent hot streak has seen him reach 20 goals and 37 points. Jenner also had a helper. Jack Johnson and William Karlsson picked up the other goals.
Mar 28 - 10:46 PM

Cam Atkinson scored a hat trick in Columbus' 5-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night.

Atkinson's first two goals were scored in the first period and he added an empty netter to complete the trifecta. Atkinson is now just two goals away from tying his career-high of 21 which he set last season. The 25-year-old signed a three-year contract extension with the Jackets in March so he should be part of the team for the foreseeable future. Atkinson has 19 goals and 35 points in 70 games this season. Ryan Johanssen and Kevin Connauton also scored for Columbus.
Mar 27 - 11:08 PM

Cam Atkinson collected two assists in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Ducks.

Atkinson now has four points over his last three games, and now has 16 assists and 32 points over 69 games this season.
Mar 25 - 2:13 AM

Cam Atkinson scored his 16th goal of the season, on the power play, during Thursday's 6-2 win over the Canucks.

Atkinson's tally proved to be the eventual game-winner, and capped off the Blue Jackets' run of three goals over 11:14 to finish the second period. He now has 30 points on the season, with six goals and nine points coming with the man advantage.
Mar 20 - 2:20 AM

Mar 19 - 9:32 AM

Cam Atkinson's scored for the second game in a row Friday.

Atkinson inked a three-year contract extension on March 2 and finally broke a 13 game goalless drought on Thursday before finding the back of the net once again Friday, this time on the power play. Atkinson has 15 goals and 28 points this season but we cannot recommend him at this time.
Mar 14 - 5:52 AM

Cam Atkinson recorded an assist in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Atkinson has been limited to two points over his last 11 games. He signed a three-year, $10.5 million contract extension on March 2 to avoid becoming a restricted free agent.
Mar 11 - 9:33 AM

Cam Atkinson has agreed to a three-year, $10.5 million contract extension.

Atkinson has 13 goals and 25 points in 58 games in 2014-15. That's a substantial jump from his previous average annual salary of $1.15 million, but that's not surprising given that the 25-year-old has established himself as an important part of the Blue Jackets. He would have been eligible to become a restricted free agent this summer.
Mar 2 - 2:57 PM

According to sources, Chicago is interested in acquiring Cam Atkinson from Columbus.

The Blackhawks would like to bring in some help after losing Patrick Kane for 12 weeks. Atkinson and Arizona's Antoine Vermette appear to be at the top their list.
Feb 27 - 11:14 AM

Cam Atkinson scored his 13th goal of the season Saturday versus the Islanders.

Atkinson has been pretty hot of late with four goals in his last five games and five goals and eight points in nine games. Before that, he had gone 17 games without a goal so Atkinson is worth looking at again in pools. He has 23 points in 50 games but remember what he has done lately.
Feb 15 - 6:54 AM

Cam Atkinson scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 defeat of the Capitals.

A lot more was expected from Atkinson than he has produced to date, as his goal snaps a 17-game stretch without tickling the twine. The fact he registered five shots on goal on Tuesday might be a sign that he's finding his groove again. Fedor Tyutin also picked up a goal and an assist in the win while Ryan Johansen and Mark Letestu added markers of their own.
Jan 27 - 11:21 PM

Cam Atkinson's assist on Saturday was his first point in 12 games.

Atkinson has also gone 15 games without finding the back of the net so it has been quite a slump for the forward. Atkinson has eight goals and 15 points thus far this season and while he is not a good pickup at this time, he is capable of getting hot for a couple of weeks so keep an eye on him.
