Mark Arcobello is getting more comfortable, particularly when he has the puck.
"I have a little longer leash, I think, and I'm not worried as much about not getting back out on the ice or getting sent to the press box," Arcobello said. "That's the main thing, because I know I have the ability." He's worth keeping an eye on, but he doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues at this time. He has four goals and six points in 15 games this season. Nov 11 - 10:34 AM

Mark Arcobello scored his third goal of the season in the Oilers' 5-2 loss to Boston on Thursday night.

Arcobello now has three goals and five points so far through 13 games this season. The 26-year-old is looking to build off his 18-point campaign last year.
Nov 6 - 9:47 PM

Mark Arcobello is the only player on the Edmonton Oilers with a positive plus/minus rating this season.

Arcobello is at plus-one heading into Monday's game against Tampa Bay. He also has two goals and an assist in five contests. It's been a solid start to the season for him, although that's been somewhat lost amid the Oilers' struggles.
Oct 20 - 8:16 AM

Mark Arcobello is very much still in the running to become Edmonton's second-line center.

That being said, Arcobello is far from the only contender. Top prospect Leon Draisaitl is having a strong camp and might claim that role over Arcobello. At the age of 26, Arcobello is running out of chances to prove that he can be a regular in the NHL. He had four goals and 18 points in 48 games with Edmonton last season, but he's capable of doing significantly better if he gets top-six minutes.
Sep 26 - 10:27 AM

Mark Arcobello might end up as a second-line center option for the Oilers this season.

He's expected to compete with Leon Draisaitl and Anton Lander for the spot. Jordan Eberle thinks Arcobello could be a good fit there. "I've played with Arco when he was in the AHL and when he was up here last year," said Eberle. "I think he's showed that he can play here when he was up here. He performed very well. With contract issues and guys stepping in, he kind of got pushed out of the way. Now that there is a spot open, I know for him he’s probably training hard and looking to take over that. It should be interesting." Arcobello got off to a good start last season with 10 assists in his first 10 outings, but he finished the year with 18 points in 41 contests.
Aug 20 - 5:05 PM

Mark Arcobello has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers.

The big news is that it's a one-way deal, which is a first for Arcobello. He has four goals and 18 points in 41 games this season.
Apr 1 - 9:41 AM

The Edmonton Oilers have sent center Mark Arcobello to Oklahoma City of the AHL.

Arcobello got off to a great start with 10 assists in his first 10 games but cooled off after becoming popular on the waiver wire and had only four goals and eight points in his final 31 games. He was sent down as Ales Hemsky and Andrew Ference returned to the lineup while Mark Fraser made his Oilers debut.
Feb 2 - 7:18 AM

Mark Arcobello scored a goal in Edmonton's 5-2 loss to St. Louis on Wednesday.

Arcobello has 17 points in 34 games, but he got 10 of those points in his first 10 contests this season. He's playing time has been on a steady downward path to the point where he's averaging just 12:52 minutes per game this month. We can't recommend owning him in standard leagues at this time.
Jan 8 - 9:56 AM

Mark Arcobello (ribs) returned to action on Friday.

Arcobello had been out since December 17, missing seven games with the rib injury, and had one blocked shot Friday in 14:45 minutes of action. Arcobello has three goals and 16 points in 32 games this season. He last garnered a point on December 10.
Jan 4 - 2:24 AM

Mark Arcobello is dealing with an injury to his ribs.

Arcobello didn't play on Saturday as a result. He has three goals and 16 points in 31 contests in 2013-14.

Mark Arcobello had a goal and an assist in Edmonton's 8-2 win over Colorado on Thursday.

That gives Arcobello three points in his last two games. Fantasy owners that remember Arcobello's point-per-game pace at the beginning of the season might be eager to pick him up in the hopes of riding another hot streak. However, keep in mind that Arcobello was getting top-six minutes in October as the Oilers' dealt with injuries. By contrast he logged just 12:46 minutes on Thursday and he's not likely to see his role significantly increase again despite his recent offensive outburst.

Mark Arcobello had an assist in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Phoenix.

Arcobello took advantage of some of the Oilers' early injuries to record 10 points in his first 10 games. However, with the team getting healthier, Arcobello went from averaging 17:45 minutes in October to 14:09 in November. That coincided with his production plummeting. He has just three points in his last 14 contests.

Mark Arcobello will dress in his first NHL game since Nov. 13 on Thursday night.

He was brought back up from the minors about a week ago, but hasn't cracked the lineup until now. "I'm ready to pick up where I left off," said an eager Arcobello. The rookie forward has two goals and 10 assists in 20 NHL games this campaign. Ryan Jones will also play against Nashville, while Will Acton and Luke Gazdic will sit.

The Edmonton Oilers have recalled center Mark Arcobello from Oklahoma City of the AHL.

Arcobello was sent down on Friday and did not participate in any AHL games. He has two goals and 12 points in 20 games with the Oilers but had only two goals and no assists in his last 10 games after getting off to a great start with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Sam Gagner, the Oilers top two centers, not in the lineup in the early part of the season due to injuries. He is a bottom six player unless Edmonton runs into more injuries at center and should be left on the waiver wire for now.

Mark Arcobello has been sent down to the minors.

Arcobello got off to a great start this season with 10 assists in his first 10 games. However, he got his big break because the Oilers were dealing with injury troubles and as their centers started getting healthy, Arcobello got less ice time. He went from averaging 17:45 minutes in October to just 14:48 minutes in his last six contests. It still wouldn't be surprising to see him get another chance later this season.
