Apr 7 - 10:21 AM

Mike Sislo scored his first two career goals on Thursday.

Sislo is 28 years old and was playing in his 32nd career NHL game. "It's exciting," Sislo said. "Getting that first goal is something I'll never forget. I've been focusing on playing the 200-foot game and doing the right things defensively, but it's nice to get rewarded offensively." It almost never happened too because his status for the contest was in question after he missed Wednesday's practice due to what Sislo thinks might have been food poisoning.

Mike Sislo (illness) took part in Thursday's morning skate.

Sislo was too sick to participate in Wednesday's practice. The fact that he's already resumed skating means that he'll probably end up playing in Thursday's contest. That hasn't been confirmed though.

Mike Sislo (illness) is questionable for Thursday's game, per Devils coach John Hynes.

As previously mentioned, Sislo wasn't able to practice with New Jersey on Wednesday. It's worth noting that the Devils have no spare forwards, so if Sislo isn't available then the Devils will need to decide between dressing seven defensemen and calling someone up.
