Matt Frattin was surprisingly physical in the Maple Leafs' Game 5 win over the Bruins.
Frattin, who is known more for his speed and his offense, tied Milan Lucic and Dion Phaneuf in hits during Game 5 with seven. We have also liked his overall game this post-season. Keep Frattin in mind next season as we see a maturing player with skill emerging here. He could be a nice sleeper in 2013-14. May 11 - 9:51 AM

May 1 - 6:54 PM

Matt Frattin served as a healthy scratch in Tuesday's loss to Washington.

He hasn't scored a goal in his past 13 games and has contributed just two assists over that span. Frattin, who was enjoying a great start to the 2013 campaign, hasn't been the same since he suffered a knee injury. Clarke MacArthur joined him in the press box along with Mike Kostka and Joe Colborne.

Matt Frattin will likely be a healthy scratch Saturday night against New Jersey.

Toronto coach Randy Carlyle has not liked his game recently. "Right now he's in between in a lot of situations. Where he should be jumping through a hole he's not", said Carlyle. Keep Frattin on reserve until further notice.
Apr 6 - 1:10 PM

Matt Frattin was a healthy scratch for Monday's game at Boston.

He hasn't found the back of the net in seven games since returning to the lineup from a knee injury, but perhaps sitting in the press box will help him snap out of his funk once he returns. However, it isn't clear yet if he'll get that chance Wednesday against Florida.
Mar 26 - 10:37 AM

Matt Frattin has yet to score and has just two assists since his return from injury.

Frattin registered seven goals and 10 points in his first 10 games before going down with a left knee injury in mid-February but has been on a cold streak since his return to the lineup on March 9th.

Matt Frattin will be back in the Toronto lineup against Pittsburgh Saturday night.

He has missed the Maple Leafs' last 12 games with a knee injury. It may take Frattin a few games to regain the scoring touch he displayed earlier in the season but if you need him, activate him.
Mar 9 - 12:48 PM

Matt Frattin (knee) won't play Wednesday.

He is still isn't quite 100 percent from the procedure he underwent on his knee in mid-February. Frattin is believed to be close to returning though, but for now he is listed as day-to-day.

Matt Frattin didn't make his return to the lineup Monday night.

He was scratched but should return soon after recovering from a knee injury. Frattin didn't participate in the pregame warmup, but he has been practicing with contact. We'll keep him as active for now and assume he was just made a healthy scratch.

Mar 5 - 10:35 AM

Matt Frattin (knee) is officially being listed as a game-time decision for Monday night's game.

GM Dave Nonis said he may need another day or two before he is ready, but the Leafs have opened up a roster spot for his return by trading Mike Brown to Edmonton and he has participated in the team's past two practices. It wouldn't be surprising to see him play, as it looks like he's ready.
Mar 4 - 2:09 PM

Matt Frattin (knee) is projected to suit up in Toronto's lineup Monday night against New Jersey.

The Leafs traded tough guy Mike Brown to Edmonton to open up a spot on the roster for Frattin's return. He hasn't played since Feb. 11 because of a knee injury, but had seven goals and 10 points in 10 games prior to getting hurt. He skated with Nazem Kadri and Clarke MacArthur at Monday's practice. Feel free to activate him if you normally would.
Mar 4 - 12:58 PM

Matt Frattin was cleared for contact Saturday and will take part in Sunday mornings practice.

He will participate with no restrictions as he seems to be over a knee injury which sidelined him for two weeks. This is great news for Frattin and Frattin owners as the late-blooming winger was having a break out start to his season.
Mar 2 - 12:56 PM

Matt Frattin (knee) says he feels about a week away from returning.

Frattin still has to take contact in practice and wants to make sure his leg can handle it. The 25-year-old forward has been sidelined since undergoing surgery roughly two weeks ago and Frattin said the injury had a four-to-six-week recovery timetable. Before getting hurt, Frattin had 10 points in 10 games and once healthy could have some nice value going forward.
Feb 26 - 1:46 PM

Matt Frattin (knee) hasn't been cleared for contact yet, but it sounds like he's getting closer.

That's great news for the 25-year-old forward, who has 10 points in 10 games. He's obviously unlikely to connect on nearly 40 percent of his shots upon his return, but it's possible he can have nice value going forward.
