Brad Malone will be a healthy scratch in Monday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.

This will be his fourth straight game as a healthy scratch. The 26-year-old has two assists in 10 games this season. Ryan Murphy will miss the game because of a concussion.
Nov 16 - 7:05 PM

Brad Malone and Michal Jordan will each be scratched for Friday's tilt with the Stars.

While Jordan has yet to post any numbers through seven games, Malone has at least put up 18 hits and two assists in nine games thus far. Not great, but usable in a one-day filler for depth.
Nov 6 - 6:35 PM

After beating the Islanders 3-2 on Thursday night, Coach Peters has elected to not make any lineup changes against Colorado on Friday night.

That means that Brad Malone, Joakim Nordstrom, and Michal Jordan will be in the stands once again. And should probably remain on the waiver wire as well.
Oct 30 - 6:45 PM

Brad Malone, Joakim Nordstrom, and Michal Jordan were scratched from Thursday's tilt with the Islanders.

In 17 combined games Malone, Nordstrom, Jordan have two points and little else to show for their efforts. Unfortunately, there isn't a drop of fantasy value between them.

Brad Malone is projected to make his season debut on Tuesday.

Malone spent the first two games of the season in the press box, but Carolina had to make an adjustment after Riley Nash suffered a shoulder injury. Malone is projected to play on the fourth line with Jay McClement and Andrej Nestrasil.

Brad Malone's past experience with concussions isn't making him consider retirement of alter his style of play.

The subject came up in relation to Chris Borland, a 24-year-old football player who was healthy, but had suffered two concussions in the past and decided to retire in an attempt to avoid future neurological problems. The question is if we might see ever see one or more NHL players retire under similar circumstances, but if we do it won't be 25-year-old Malone. "It's a sacrifice I guess I'm willing to make," Malone said of exposing himself to the risk of head injuries. "It's one of those things where you know the risk but you don't want to think about it, right? If that situation was affecting my life at home and the people around me, away from the rink and at the rink, then I think that's when I sit down and sort of reevaluate. Until that time I think you kind of deal with the blows or the situation at hand."
Mar 31 - 9:37 AM

Brad Malone will be a healthy scratch Monday night when the Hurricanes host the Blackhawks.

Malone has scored just one goal in his last seven games which has led him to being scratched for a second straight game. On the season he has seven goals and 13 points with a solid 65 penalty minutes in 55 games this year. He shouldn’t be rostered on any fantasy teams.
Mar 23 - 5:09 PM

Malone, 25, has six goals and 12 points in 51 games this season. He has 58 penalty minutes throughout the 2014-15 season. He has no fantasy value going forward.
Mar 12 - 6:41 PM

Mar 6 - 6:28 PM

Brad Malone helped the Carolina Hurricanes upset the New York Islanders 5-3 on Saturday.

Malone scored a goal and an assist in this game, giving him three points in as many games. Not bad for a guy who only has 12 points overall in 2014-15.
Feb 28 - 8:02 PM

Feb 4 - 5:09 AM

Brad Malone notched a goal for Carolina in its 4-1 loss to the Rangers on Saturday night.

Malone scored on a quick shot via a Ryan Murphy pass at 5:38 of the second period. Though he has all four of his goals over his past five games, there is no fantasy appeal to Malone, who also has just seven points. Patrick Dwyer got the other assist.
Jan 31 - 9:43 PM
