Justin Faulk scored the Hurricanes lone goal for the second straight game as Carolina lost 2-1 for the third time in their past four games.

The Canes have just one goal in each of their past four games, which makes it quite hard to win with such measly offense. Faulk has been a bright spot though, as the 22-year-old has 17 points in 28 games in his fourth NHL season.
Dec 11 - 11:56 PM

Defenseman Justin Faulk scored Carolina's only goal in the Hurricanes' 2-1 loss to the visiting New Jersey Devils.

Dec 8 - 10:14 PM

Justin Faulk's two point effort on Saturday gave him 14 points in the month of November.

It's too bad that he had only one point in the month of October or the hockey world would be raving about his season. He has three goals and 15 points this season with 65 shots on net. He is worth picking up in pools if available.
Nov 30 - 7:15 AM

Justin Faulk notched a power-play goal in the Hurricanes’ 3-2 loss against the Penguins on Saturday night.

Faulk is an ultra-talented blueliner who is breaking out this season, to the effect he’s a mainstay in fantasy leagues as well. The defenseman has three goals and 15 points in 23 games this season. Further, he has 65 shots on goal, too, including two Saturday. Elias Lindholm also scored for Carolina.

Nov 26 - 11:13 PM

Justin Faulk had a goal and two assists to lead the Hurricanes to a 4-1 triumph Monday against the Calgary Flames in Carolina.

Faulk now has 10 points on the season -- two goals and eight assists, not shabby for a defenseman this early in the schedule. Jeff Skinner had two points for the winners, his third goal and third assist. Zach Boychuk also picked up his third goal of the season while Tim Gleason posted his first.

Justin Faulk played 26:31 in New York on Thursday night.

The young veteran blue liner has been logging even heavier minutes than normal, by nearly three minutes a night on average so far in 2015. He had four blocks, two shots and giveaways, and he played over seven minutes of special teams. Faulk is really coming into his own as a complete player, look for him to continue his evolution.
Oct 17 - 12:42 AM

Justin Faulk wants to get into the playoffs for the first time in his career.

"I haven't made the playoffs," he said. "It's tough to go home knowing you didn't make it, that you fell short. I mean, there's only one team that wins each year but you've got to make the playoffs. It's been three years for me, and I know it's been five years for a few guys here. With most of us coming back, we all have that same goal to get there and see what you can do." Carolina hasn't qualified for the postseason since losing in the Eastern Conference Finals to Pittsburgh in 2009. Faulk inked a six-year extension with the Canes last season and the young blueliner will continue to skate on the team's top defense pairing.
Aug 28 - 11:17 AM

Look for Justin Faulk to take on a bigger role for the Carolina Hurricanes next season.

Faulk just turned 22 and was a valued member of the American Olympic squad this past season, so he should be expected to provide leadership in 2014-15 for the Hurricanes. "I think I've been put into a position where I need to step up and be more of a leader, whether it's more vocal or coming to the rink ready to work hard every day and show it that way," Faulk said. He had the best offensive season of his young career with five goals and 32 points in 76 games and look for that to increase next season if he remains healthy.

Justin Faulk recorded an assist in a 5-2 loss to Washington Thursday night.

Faulk has five goals and 24 assists in 74 games this season. His 29 points is a new career-high, but we think he can top it in 2014-15.

The deal carries an average annual value of $4.833 million. Faulk has three goals and 24 points in 65 games with the Hurricanes during his third NHL season. He ranks second on the team in average ice time per game at 23:21 and with this deal in place he should continue to develop as a valuable two-way defenseman in Carolina.
