Justin Faulk (lower body) shed his no-contact jersey on Tuesday at practice, but he won't play against New Jersey.

It will be his fourth straight game on the sidelines with a lower-body injury. Faulk could be back in the lineup on Thursday or Friday, according to coach Bill Peters.

Faulk's goal at the 6:48 mark of the third period tied the game at two. He also helped set up Teuvo Teraivanen's game-winning goal in overtime. Faulk finished the game with a plus-1 rating and a team-high seven shots on goal in 22:58 of ice time. The 24-year-old has seven goals and nine assists in 30 games.

The injury sustained by Justin Faulk in Friday night's game against Washington is not considered serious according to Hurricanes' coach Bill Peters.

Faulk was removed from the contest more as a precautionary measure than anything else. Peters described the injury as general soreness in his lower-body. That is good news for Faulk owners. Consider the talented rearguard day-to-day.
