Justin Faulk believes he can produce more than the 49 points he had a season ago.
"There's a lot of factors," Faulk said. "I don't know. I think if I continue to play my game every night and bring my A game, if I do that, I'd like to think I haven't reached my ceiling at 23 years old. Hopefully it will keep going up." He posted personal bests last year with 15 goals and 34 assists. Faulk also collected a team-high 20 power-play points and he racked up 238 shots on goal. Sep 9 - 2:07 PM

Justin Faulk will be headed to the World Hockey Championships to represent Team USA for the first time as an NHL'er.

I say as an NHL'er because Faulk has 190 career games wearing Team USA's sweater in some capacity as a junior from ages 16-20. Faulk, now 23 years old, is coming off a career season with 15 goals and 49 points while skating an average of 24:36 over all 82 games.

Justin Faulk had a goal on Saturday and is now the Carolina Hurricanes top scoring defenseman in one season.

Faulk has 47 points and passed Joni Pitkanen's record of 46 set in the 2009-10 season. He has 15 goals and is just one behind Anton Babchuk's record set in the 2008-09 season. Congratulations to Faulk on setting the record.

Mar 16 - 9:18 AM

Justin Faulk scored a goal and added a pair of assists for the Hurricanes in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to Columbus.

The offensive blueliner's breakout season continues as his 44 points now place him 8th in league scoring among defensemen. Faulk's big night also included a plus-1 rating, three shots on goals, two penalty minutes, two blocked shots and a hit. Eric Staal and Victor Rask rounded out the scoring for Carolina in the losing effort.
Mar 10 - 10:16 PM

Justin Faulk registered a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Philadelphia.

Faulk is enjoying a excellent breakout season with 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points on the year, although that stat line is accompanied by a minus-16 rating. Jeff Skinner, Jordan Staal and Jay McClement also scored for Carolina in the victory while Alexander Semin handed out two helpers.
Feb 24 - 10:20 PM

Justin Faulk had two assists Saturday in a 6-3 loss to Minnesota.

Faulk sure likes to play on Saturday as he had three assists last week. The all-star defenseman has 10 goals and 34 points this season. His minus-16 rating hurts you in fantasy hockey but he is playing for a poor Carolina squad.
Feb 15 - 5:28 AM

Justin Faulk had three assists and was a plus-two on Saturday.

The Hurricanes lone all-star last month tied his career best in points on Saturday as he now has 32, the same as last year with over a third of the season still left to play. Faulk has been a workhorse on the Hurricanes blueline this season and at the age of 22, his future looks bright.
Feb 8 - 8:17 AM

Justin Faulk scored a goal in Carolina's 3-2 shootout loss to St. Louis on Friday.

Faulk has been a surprise contributor offensively for the Hurricanes this season. The 22-year-old now has 10 goals and 29 points in 48 games in 2014-15. Faulk averages over 24:00 per game, but his defensive game still needs some work. Only nine defensemen have more goals than Faulk so far this season. Ryan Murphy also chipped in a goal in Friday's loss. The Hurricanes have just one regulation loss in their last eight games (5-1-2).
Jan 30 - 10:16 PM

Justin Faulk scored a goal and added an assist for the Hurricanes in a 4-2 win over Tampa Bay Tuesday night.

The All-Star defenseman has enjoyed a breakout season and continued his recent run of hot play with his second multi-point effort in his last three games. Eric Staal matched Faulk's line with a goal and an assist of his own while Jiri Tlusty and Nathan Gerbe added tallies in the win.
Jan 27 - 11:42 PM

Justin Faulk recorded two points in the Hurricanes’ 3-2 win over the Senators on Saturday night.

Faulk still has his warts on the defensive end and carries a minus-15 rating, but other than that he offers a lot of upside from the blue line. Faulk’s goal-assist night gives him eight goals and 26 points this season. He also had six shots on goal and a strong plus-three rating. Nathan Gerbe scored the game winner, and he also had an assist. Brad Malone picked up the other marker.
Jan 17 - 10:37 PM

Justin Faulk had a minus-3 rating in Friday's 3-0 loss to Vancouver.

The Canucks' scored three goals in the second period, and Faulk was somehow on the ice for each one of them. The 22-year-old will be Carolina's lone representative at the 2015 NHL All-Star game which is taking place in Columbus later this month. Faulk has seven goals, 24 points and a minus-18 rating this season.

Defenseman Justin Faulk was named to the All-Star team on Saturday.

Faulk will be the Hurricanes lone representative at the game which will be played in Columbus on January 25. Faulk has seven goals and 24 points this season but his plus/minus leaves a lot to be desired as he is a minus-15 in 2014-15.
Jan 11 - 7:33 AM

Justin Faulk had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 loss to Nashville on Tuesday.

Faulk was also minus-three, bringing him down to minus-17 this season. If the season ended today, that would go down as the worst single-season plus/minus rating of Faulk's young career. On a more positive note, the 22-year-old defenseman also has seven goals and 23 points in 40 contests.
Jan 7 - 8:47 AM

Justin Faulk scored and added an assist in the Canes' 4-1 win over Toronto on Thursday night.
