The Florida Panthers have inked Brian Foster to a one-year contract.
Foster made his NHL debut on Feb. 4, but he only ended up facing one shot in the Panthers' 6-3 loss to Tampa Bay. He doesn't have any fantasy value. Tue, Jul 17, 2012 08:30:00 PM

Brian Foster knows he won't get any playing time during this NHL stint, but he's still looking at his time with the Panthers as an opportunity.

Foster will practice with the Panthers for a few days before getting sent down. Jose Theodore is injured, but Jacob Markstrom will be the one to team up with Scott Clemmensen and help fill the void. Foster has been playing for the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones. "I wasn’t really expecting it, but I’m real happy to be here," said Foster. "I’m excited to play with these guys and try to get better. It’s not a disappointment [not playing] because I’m going to get better being here. Just practicing, I’m happy with that. It’s a good chance to work with [goalie coach Robb Tallas] because I don’t see him that much. It’s a good opportunity."
