Viktor Fasth allowed just two goals on 29 shots but was saddled with the loss in a 2-1 defeat to Minnesota on Tuesday.
The Oilers had a ton of chances to give Fasth a different result in this game but in keeping with the disastrous season didn't help him out in the end. Fasth has two wins in his last three starts now however and the Oilers have showed some life with him in the crease of late. He is still a very risky play in any format. Jan 28 - 12:58 AM

Viktor Fasth will face the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

Viktor Fasth wasn't at his sharpest on Tuesday night, but he was the beneficiary of some unlikely offensive support in a 5-4 win over Washington.

Fasth allowed four goals on just 24 shots, but was credited with a victory as his teammates mounted a late comeback and secured the win in a shootout. He has now won back-to-back outings and possesses a 4-10-2 record on the season to go along with a 3.37 GAA and a .888 save percentage.
Jan 20 - 10:33 PM

Viktor Fasth will get the start against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.

Through 13 starts and 17 games, Fasth comes in with a 3-10-2 with 46 goals against. That's pretty bad. In his last six starts since Dec. 1st he's allowed 21 goals, with just one victory. Try to find a more favorable matchup.

Viktor Fasth was strong in net Saturday night, making 35 saves in the Oilers’ 3-2 shootout win over Florida.

Fasth was called upon for his first start since Jan. 6 and he was excellent. Fasth allowed the two goals in the second period, about nine minutes apart. The win was his first since Nov. 9. He has a 3.34 goals-against average and .891 save percentage this season.
Jan 17 - 11:00 PM

Viktor Fasth will get the start in Saturday's game against Florida.

Fasth has started just one of the Oilers' last nine games. The 32-year-old is also a miserable 0-8-1 in his last nine decisions. He has an overall record of 2-10-2 with a 3.47 goals-against-average and a .886 save percentage.
Jan 17 - 12:18 PM

Viktor Fasth made 37 saves but it wasn't enough as the Oilers fell 4-2 to Detroit on Tuesday.

Fasth did everything he could to keep his team in this game and nearly earned them a point if it weren't for a lucky late power play own goal that essentially ended the game as the Red Wings scored an empty netter shortly after. Fasth has just two wins on the season and is the number two behind Ben Scrivens on the depth chart. If you are looking at Oiler goalies you are likely very desperate at this point.
Jan 7 - 1:07 AM

Viktor Fasth is expected to get the nod on Tuesday.

Fasth has a 3.50 GAA and .881 save percentage in 15 games this season. With Ben Scrivens stepping up his game lately, Fasth is in danger of becoming even further marginalized.
Jan 6 - 4:51 PM

Viktor Fasth lasted 8:48 in the Oilers’ 4-1 loss to the Flames on Saturday night.

Fasth gave up three goals on six shots, and he hasn’t won since Nov. 9. Suffice to say, Fasth has been brutal this season with a 3.50 goals-against average and .881 save percentage. In relief, Ben Scrivens stopped 20 of 21 shots. He sports a 3.16 GAA and .892 SV%.

Viktor Fasth is expected to get the start in goal for Edmonton on Saturday according to the Edmonton Journal.

The Oilers are looking for Fasth or Ben Scrivens to take hold of the number one job and apparently it's Fasth turn on Saturday against the Flames. Fasth is a mediocre 2-8-2 this season with a 3.29 GAA and a .888 save percentage. That's not exactly an inspiring reason to use him in your lineup tonight.

Viktor Fasth's blowup on the bench Friday is causing some controversy.

Fasth was screaming on the bench after being pulled 51 seconds into the second period as he gave up two goals early on. Nail Yakupov was next to Fasth on the bench at the time. "He was mad," Yakupov reported. "I don’t know what he say." Fasth stated that he told the team to 'wake up'. The Oilers are reeling and it's starting to look like either Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel have a good chance to play in the NHL's most northern city.

Viktor Fasth was replaced by Ben Scrivens less than one minute into the second period Friday night.

Ryan Getzlaf sealed Fasth's fate when he made it 3-0 very early on in the second period. Fasth left the game having allowed three goals on only a dozen shots, and was seen screaming with his mask off at Coach Eakins on the bench.

Viktor Fasth stopped 32-of-34 shots but it wasn't enough in a 2-1 loss to Anaheim on Wednesday.

Fasth got his first start since Dec. 1, and did all he could to keep his team in this game with a numerous big time saves to keep it a close game. Fasth got the start in place of Ben Scrivens who played last night in San Jose. With starts like these, look for him to earn a few more going forward. It was has been a rough season for anyone in the Edmonton crease this season as the Oilers have the second worst goal differential at -35.
