Viktor Fasth revealed he had a strained lower abdominal muscle and was playing around 80 percent at the end of the year.
Jonas Hiller got all the starts for the Ducks in the postseason, although it's unclear if Fasth's injury had anything to do with that fact. Fasth should be 100 percent healthy by training camp and could enter next season as the Ducks' starting goalie if Hiller is dealt for salary cap purposes this summer. May 14 - 3:21 PM

Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau will not reveal which of his goaltenders will start in Game 1 of the playoffs.

Viktor Fasth was between the pipes for Saturday's finale against Phoenix in which the Ducks lost by a score of 5-3, but the Game 1 starter remains a mystery to everyone but Boudreau. "I've known for a while who's going to be the goalie," Boudreau said. "You're not going to know. You'll see Tuesday night."

Goaltender Viktor Fasth recorded his first victory since April 7 Wednesday night as the Anaheim Ducks shut out the Oilers 3-0 in Edmonton.

Fasth steered aside all 24 Edmonton shots he faced. The victory sealed a division championship for the Ducks, their first in six seasons. For Fasth, it was his third shutout of the season, all on the road. He is 15-5-2 in 24 games this season.

Apr 22 - 2:00 PM

Viktor Fasth (undisclosed) was well enough to back up Jonas Hiller Sunday.

Fasth missed Friday's game after leaving the morning skate with the undisclosed injury. He will likely get the start in goal Monday as the Ducks want to get him some action this week before the start of the playoffs.
Apr 22 - 5:39 AM

Viktor Fasth might be injured after leaving Friday's morning skate before it's conclusion.

What makes this particularly noteworthy is the fact that the Ducks recalled goaltender Igor Bobkov under emergency conditions. It looks like at best Fasth will serve as the backup on Friday and at worst, Bobkov will take his spot on the bench.
Apr 19 - 3:06 PM

Viktor Fasth's 2013 season is still a stunning success, but things have been a little tougher lately, including Wednesday's 3-2 OT loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Fasth stopped 25 out of 28 shots in that loss. He's 1-2-1 with one no decision in his last five games played. Overall, his totals look great, though: he has a 14-5-2 record, .921 save percentage and 2.20 GAA. Determining when to draft him in next year's auctions will be a tough endeavor, though.

That means he'll be between the pipes for Anaheim against Columbus. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
Apr 17 - 3:26 PM

Viktor Fasth stopped 16 of 18 shots but it wasn’t enough to help the Ducks beat the rival L.A. Kings on Saturday night in a 2-1 loss.

Fasth recorded a 35 save win against the Kings last week, but wasn’t as impressive on Saturday as his counterpart Jonathan Quick outplayed him.
Apr 14 - 6:25 AM

Viktor Fasth was the first goalie off the ice Saturday morning, which indicates he'll start against Los Angeles.

Jonas Hiller had started the team's previous two games, but he was pulled in Wednesday's loss to Colorado. The 30-year-old has been superb in his first season of NHL competition, while sporting a 14-4-1 record, a .923 save percentage, a 2.17 and three shutouts.
Apr 13 - 3:17 PM

Viktor Fasth cleaned up for Jonas Hiller in the third period of the Anaheim Ducks' 4-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.

Hiller allowed four goals on 16 shots through two periods before Bruce Boudreau yanked him in favor of Fasth. The Swede was perfect in the third, stopping 12 out of 12. Fasth is likely to get the next start as a result, putting this dizzying duel into motion once more.
Apr 11 - 2:57 AM

Viktor Fasth saved 35 of 38 shots in regulation in a 4-3 shootout win Sunday.

Fasth surrendered one goal in two shootout rounds, but it was still good enough. He has won three of his last four games to give him a 14-4-1 record this season.
