Mattias Ekholm's goal on Saturday ended a 42-game goal scoring drought.
Ekholm had been setting up markers though, so that goal was also his 10th point in 19 playoff contests. He's the fourth Predators defenseman to reach double-digits in points in the 2017 playoffs, making Nashville the third team to ever have four blueliners reach that milestone in the same postseason run. The other two were the 1984 Edmonton Oilers and 1993 Los Angeles Kings. Jun 5 - 10:34 AM

Ekholm is a stud on the Nashville blueline and with a goal and 10 points thus far, he has been a great contributor to your playoff fantasy team if you drafted him.

The Nashville Predators have a group of defensemen that can move the puck and join the rush.

P.K. Subban, Mattias Ekholm, Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis make up the team's top four blue liners and each of those players is capable of moving the puck efficiently. "We’re that way," Ekholm said. "We still can defend, and we’re pretty solid at that, but our strength is carrying the puck up and wanting to go on the attack. … Maybe that’s what’s happening with a lot of the stay-at-home defensemen. The speed is too fast right now. All of the defensemen on this team can really defend and join the rush." There's no doubt that Nashville has one of the top groups of defensemen in the NHL right now.

It looks as if the Mattias Ekholm and P.K. Subban partnership is off to a good start.

The two looked great togehter in the Preds'4-3 win over the Lightning Saturday night. Subban registered a goal and an assist but was less impressed with his performance than that of Ekholm, whom he called a "stud". Look for this to be a successful pairing in Nashville this season which could result in a boost to Ekholm's five-on-five scoring totals.

Mattias Ekholm found the back of the net in Sunday's 3-2 loss to San Jose in Game 2.

The Preds have dug themselves quite a hole, as they're down 2-0 in the series. Fortunately for them, both losses have come on the road, which means they can get right back into the series with two good showings on home ice. Ekholm's goal at the 12:56 mark of the third period tied the game at one, but Joe Pavelski scored just minutes later to restore San Jose's lead. Ekholm has three goals and four points in nine games this postseason.
