Johan Larsson was not able to play Tuesday because of an injury.

He was hurt during the morning skate, but was still a possibility to play until he didn't take part in the pregame warmups. The Sabres had to play seven defensemen because Larsson was ruled out.

Johan Larsson will be scratched against Florida on Tuesday night.

Through 50 games this season Larsson has seen his production, somehow, drop even more. He's posted just six points and a 3.3 shooting percentage. He's still just 23-years-old but this isn't not encouraging.
Feb 9 - 6:38 PM

Johan Larsson netted his second goal of the season in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Montreal.

Both of his goals have been game winners. "I just tried to drive the net and get my stick on the ice," Larsson said. "It hit my stick and went in. It was good feeling. You always want to score so I try to go the net and get an easy goal." Larsson has posted just six points in 48 games.
Feb 4 - 7:40 AM

Johan Larsson scored the game-winning goal in Monday's 2-1 win over Detroit.

His first goal of the season came shortly after Ryan O'Reilly tied the game. The Red Wings challenged the goal, looking for an offside ruling, but it stood as a good marker. Larsson has contributed just four points in 28 games.

Johan Larsson will suit up Tuesday after being scratched for the last two games.

"I want to see some energy and passion in his game," coach Dan Bylsma said. "He's a good player with speed and skill, and he's got to bring it with a little more passion, a little more jam to his game. I know he can provide it." He was the odd-man out during line rushes in the morning, but will play against Detroit.

Johan Larsson will be scratched from Saturday's match with Nashville.

Larsson simply doesn't have much fantasy value. He's posted just six goals and 23 points through 89 NHL games since debuting during the 2012-13 season for Minnesota.

Johan Larsson will be seated in favor of Evander Kane for Friday's match with Pittsburgh.

Unfortunately, the young Larsson has been unable to make much of a mark in the NHL. He has just six goals and 23 points through 89 NHl games since debuting during the 2012-13 season for Minnesota.

Keep an eye on the Sabres' Johan Larsson.

He is getting the chance to play on a line with wunderkid Jack Eichel. Larsson hasn't accomlished much in the NHL to date (three points this season and 16 in 39 games last season) but Buffalo coach Dam Bylsma likes the way the former Swedish Elite League star is meshing with Eichel. "Four games ago when" Larson "got the opportunity to play there I think it’s been his best hockey to this point," Bylsma said. "He’s played a little more tenacious. He’s played a little more with an edge. You’ve seen his skating ability and that’s been pretty consistent alongside of Jack there." Keep an eye on Larsson. He may be worth a pickup in very deep pools.

Johan Larsson recorded his first points of the season Tuesday in a 4-3 overtime victory against Philadelphia.

He accounted for a pair of assists on goals by Jamie McGinn (power play) and defenseman Jake McCabe. Larsson was promoted to the second unit on the man advantage because of Evander Kane's knee injury and he made the most of his opportunity.

Johan Larsson took Evander Kane's spot on the second power-play unit during Tuesday's skate.

Kane has an MCL injury so Larsson is projected to join Jack Eichel, Jamie McGinn, Brian Gionta and Rasmus Ristolainen. Coach Dan Bylsma thinks Larsson will fit in nicely because of his "patience and skill with the puck" and his "heavy shot."

Johan Larsson will replace David Legwand in the Sabres lineup against the Leafs

Larsson was scratched against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but will draw in as he replaces veteran pivot, David Legwand. He will be centering a bottom forward line, but there's more to this young pivot that meets the eye.

Johan Larsson and Carlo Colaiacovo will be healthy scratches against the Lightning on Saturday.

Fun fact, there's exactly 172 career points and little else between Larsson and Colaiacovo. Suffice it to say, even if they were in the lineup they wouldn't be advisable pick ups.
