Larsson had six goals and 10 assists in 39 games in the NHL last season, and 40 points in 45 AHL games. "This has been a process but now the Sabres are clear they want to have Johan on the team," said his agent Lars Cederstrom. "Johan has great potential to grow even more next season, so we believe he will have an even better position for negotiations in a year."

Johan Larsson generated three points in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to Toronto.

He finished the match with a goal, two assists and a plus-3 rating after he was promoted to the top line between Tyler Ennis and Matt Moulson. Ennis and Moulson equaled Larsson's point total with a goal and two helpers as well. Larsson is playing on his third call-up with the Sabres this year and this is the first one where he's received time in the top-six forward group.

Johan Larsson skated on the top line at practice on Monday.

He was flanked by Matt Moulson and Tyler Ennis, which bumped Phil Varone to the second unit between Marcus Foligno and Brian Gionta. He has collected four points in 23 games with the Sabres this season, but this is a good opportunity for him.
Mar 10 - 9:36 AM

Johan Larsson scored the lone goal for Buffalo in a 6-1 loss to the Capitals on Saturday night.

Larsson scored his second career goal 2:35 into the game, but that was pretty much all the offense the Sabres mustered in this one. The 22-year-old winger has four points in 23 games this season, and is far way from being fantasy relevant. Marcus Foligno and Zach Bogosian got the assists.

Jan 4 - 6:45 PM

Johan Larsson potted the lone goal for Buffalo in its 5-1 loss to the Avalanche on Saturday night.

Larsson scored at 13:27 of the third period to cut the Avalanche lead to 4-1, so it didn’t mean much in the grand scheme, but it did to him as it was his first career NHL goal. Larsson was called up to replace Matt Moulson, who is out sick, and it didn't appear he'd make it in time for the game. The 22-year-old has five points in 34 career NHL games. Chris Stewart and Andre Benoit had the assists.
