Linden Vey cleared waivers on Saturday but is still a member of the Calgary Flames.
Vey is battling Chris Higgins, Lauri Korpikoski and Freddie Hamilton for the final forward spot with the Flames. Higgins and Korpikoski are on PTO's and the Flames may decide to keep one of the duo around and send Vey to the minors. Either way, Vey's fantasy value is negligible. Oct 9 - 5:02 AM

The Calgary Flames have cut Linden Vey from their training camp roster.

Vey had four goals and 15 points in 41 games with the Vancouver Canucks last season. He's on waivers and will presumably be sent to the AHL should he clear.
Oct 7 - 1:50 PM

Linden Vey's decision to sign with Calgary has kept him united with Glen Gulutzan.

Gulutzan was an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks before accepting his new role as the Flames' bench boss. He's also played with Hunter Shinkaruk in the past. "It’s exciting, knowing where the next chapter is going to be," Vey said. "I’m really excited to join the Calgary Flames organization. It makes the transition a little easier, especially knowing the coach and a guy that’s obviously from there and had played the last little bit of the season with them." Vey had four goals and 15 points in 41 games with Vancouver last season. He's joining the Flames on a one-year, two-way contract.
Jul 6 - 4:17 AM

Linden Vey has inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Calgary Flames.

Vey had four goals and 15 points in 41 contests in 2015-16. He also had three goals and 15 points in 26 AHL games.
Jul 5 - 3:25 PM

Vancouver has until Monday to give Linden Vey a qualifying offer.

He slots in behind Henrik Sedin, Brandon Sutter, Bo Horvat, Markus Granlund and Brendan Gaunce on the depth chart. Vey also has off the ice issues to deal with after his father, Curtis Vey, and Angela Nicholson were found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder on June 5. He would become an unrestricted free agent if he doesn't get qualified.
Jun 21 - 4:37 PM

Linden Vey's father will go on trial on May 24 on the charge of conspiracy to murder his wife.

Vey's father Curtis was charged in 2013, but this story hadn't gotten public attention until now. Linden Vey comes from a town of less than 1,000 people. "It's a tough situation for me," Vey said. "Sometimes, when you have something like that weighing on your mind, it's tough to be super focused. But I do have a great family and support system. I try not to focus on it too much. Any time it's a family matter, you try to keep it as private as you can. Everybody has something to go through. Life is never easy." While this has all been happening, Vey has been trying to establish himself in the NHL. In 2015-16, Vey had four goals and 15 points in 41 contests with Vancouver while also spending some time in the minors.
May 11 - 10:43 AM

Linden Vey suffered an upper body injury during Friday's 3-2 win over the Ducks.

Vey saw just 10:32 of action before departing, but did not factor into the stat sheet. Unfortunately, he didn't have any more fantasy value while healthy.
Apr 2 - 12:43 AM

Linden Vey returned to the fold on Thursday after missing one game.

He had a plus-1 rating and one shot in 15:27 of ice time versus San Jose. Vey spent most of the game paired with Markus Granlund.
Apr 1 - 3:10 AM

Linden Vey will not play Tuesday night because he is banged up.

Consider him day-to-day with an undisclosed ailment.
Mar 29 - 5:31 PM

Linden Vey scored his third goal of the season in Tuesday's lose to the New York Islanders.

The goal came off of Vey's only shot in the contest, which came on a power play in the first period. Two of his three goals this season have come on the power play. Along with his three goals this season, the 24 year-old has nine assists in 26 games this season.
Mar 2 - 12:08 PM

Linden Vey returned to the Canucks' lineup during Thursday's 5-3 win over Ottawa, and picked up a pair of helpers.

Vey hasn't seen a whole lot of time with Vancouver this season, just 24 games, but he's done a good job filling the net. Or helping to, anyway. Vey has nine assists and 11 points so far this season, raising hope that the youngster can find his way yet with the big boys.
Feb 26 - 1:30 AM

Linden Vey is scratched with an undisclosed injury for Friday's match with Calgary.

Coach Willie Desjardins declined to give any details of the injury, but we'll keep you posted on his status as it develops. Vey has posted nine points in just 23 games this season. Jared McCann will take his place in the lineup tonight.
Feb 19 - 6:59 PM

It looks like Linden Vey is sticking with the Canucks even though centers Henrik Sedin and Brandon Sutter are healthy.

Vey even managed to log 16:18 minutes Thursday night, so Vancouver's relative help hasn't forced him into a minimal role. Of course, it helps that Vey has been playing well lately and found the back of the net on Thursday. "I thought that was probably the best game I’ve seen him play in a Canucks uniform (Thursday night)," Canucks coach Willie Desjardins said. "I thought he made lots of good, little plays that didn’t turn into goals, but were good plays." He's worth keeping an eye on, although Vey's fantasy value will likely be limited this season.
Feb 6 - 5:19 AM

Linden Vey scored a goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to Columbus on Thursday.

Vey now has two goals and seven points in 17 contests this season. His marker was assisted on by Sven Baertschi and Bo Horvat.
Feb 5 - 10:46 AM

Linden Vey scored the shootout winner on Friday in a 4-3 win over Detroit.

Vey was recalled earlier in the day from the minors to replace the injured Henrik Sedin. Vey had three goals and 15 points in the AHL in 26 games. He saw a lot of power play time last season at the beginning of the year for the Canucks and they may use him in a similar role this season.
