Linden Vey scored his second of the season in St. Louis on Thursday night, helping Vancouver to a 4-1 win.

Vey has been seeing first unit powerplay time and made great use of it by staying in the slot and ripping home a one-timer, making it 3-1 in the third. He played nearly 13:34 with 1:26 on the PP. The Canucks only had two extra-man advantages. He also won 56% of his faceoffs.

Linden Vey is seeing time on the first power play.

The Canucks are going with four forwards and he is playing with the Sedin twins and Radim Vrbata. Vey was acquired from the Kings for a second round pick at the 2014 Draft and it looks like the Canucks did okay for themselves with the deal.

Linden Vey pounded in a rebound for a powerplay goal to put the Canucks up 1-0 midway through the game, Friday night. They went on to win 3-0 over Calgary.

The Sedins controlled play by the Flames goal line until the cycled the puck back to Chris Tanev at the point who one-timed it on net, where Vey then put in the rebound. He finished the game with 16:22 of ice time, including 5:24 with the man advantage and 1:48 on the kill. Vey now has a goal and two assists this preseason.
Sep 27 - 1:42 AM

Linden Vey had two assists and potted an empty netter for the Canucks in Tuesday's 4-2 split squad win over the San Jose Sharks.

Linden Vey showed his speed and skill in this game and really should have had two goals if he wasn't robbed on a breakaway in the first period. Vey is a prime candidate to win a job with the club this season and helped his cause with his performance in his Canucks debut. Vey had no real shot at spot with the LA Kings last season with their depth at forward but it is a different story in Vancouver.
Sep 23 - 11:47 PM

Linden Vey is looking to crack the Vancouver lineup and got himself into great shape this off-season while losing 15 pounds.

Vey came into camp at a lean 189 pounds after talking to new coach Willie Desjardins who was his coach in the WHL at Medicine Hat. "Willie made a quick phone call right off the bat and he kind of just basically said you have to really work hard this summer and commit to an honest effort and getting your fitness level to the best it can be," Vey said. "I did a lot of work this summer and it has obviously worked out with that speed aspect." Vey looked good at times in the Kings system but will get a real chance this season and could crack the top two lines. Keep an eye on him.
Sep 20 - 12:28 PM

Linden Vey's former WHL coach, Shaun Clouston, believes the former Kings forward can be a top-six skater in the NHL.

"He can score goals, but he can also really create offensive chances through his puck possession by drawing attention and finding the open man," said Clouston. That is why he may be better suited for center than on the wing, but he has played both positions before. Vey could start the season as Vancouver's third-line center and he has the talent to help out the power play as well. He might be worth looking at heading into the 2014-15 season if he impresses at training camp.

Linden Vey, acquired at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft from the Los Angeles Kings for the 50th pick the Canucks got for defenseman Jason Garrison, should be Vancouver's No. 3 center next season.

The Canucks have signed the restricted free agent to a one-year contract. Canucks general manager Jim Benning said he knew plenty about Vey from his time living in Boston while the 22-year-old played for the AHL's Manchester Monarchs. Vey also played for new coach Willie Desjardins with the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers. "There's a familiarity with Linden," Benning said. "He's a puck-possession guy, he's strong, he's a good two-way player, he plays a 200-foot game. He's ready to play in the NHL now." Vey only has 18 games of NHL experience due in part to the Stanley Cup-champion Kings' depth of young forwards. Benning said he'll get more opportunity in Vancouver.
