Anders Nilsson has been named as the Canucks' starting goalie for Saturday night's game against the Blues.

Nilsson is coming off a 30-save win over Los Angeles on Tuesday, his first start since October 26th. Despite that outing, we would stay away from Nilsson in this matchup.
Nov 18 - 1:58 PM

Anders Nilsson allowed two goals on 32 shots in Tuesday's win at Los Angeles.

It was the first appearance by Nilsson since Oct. 26, as Jacob Markstrom has been holding down the fort and doing well for the surprising Canucks. Nilsson isn't likely to see more frequent appearances anytime soon, but he did prove to Travis Green that he can be trusted should something happen to Markstrom.
Nov 15 - 2:02 AM

Anders Nilsson is projected to get back in the crease Tuesday night against Los Angeles.

Nilsson was the first goalie off at the team's optional morning skate and he received most of the work during the session. He hasn't played since Oct. 26 because he was waiting for his new baby to be born. Nilsson is 3-1-0 this year with a 1.88 GAA and a .943 save percentage.
Nov 14 - 3:43 PM

Anders Nilsson will join the Canucks "as soon as possible," according to coach Travis Green.

Nilsson has been away from the team to welcome a new baby into the world. It's unclear when he will be back with his teammates, but he could return during the club's recent road trip.
Nov 9 - 2:51 PM

Anders Nilsson allowed one goal in a 6-2 victory over the Washington Capitals on Thursday night.

Nilsson had an easy night for the Canucks, thanks in part to the offensive support he received from his team. The backup now has a 3-1-0 record for Vancouver, with a save percentage of .943 and a goals-against-average of 1.88.

Oct 27 - 12:46 AM

Anders Nilsson will start for Vancouver Thursday night.

Nilsson posted a 29-save shutout on Tuesday so it's not surprising to see Vancouver stick with him. He has a 2-1-0 record, 1.83 GAA, and .949 save percentage in three contests.
Oct 26 - 2:52 PM

Anders Nilsson turned aside all 29 shots he faced in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Minnesota Wild.

It was a solid night at the office for the Canucks goaltender. Nilsson has now made three appearances this season and he's gone 2-1-0 for Vancouver. Both of his victories have been shut outs, which is a good sign for him. He'll go into his next start with a 1.84 goals-against-average and a .949 save percentage. Nilsson is more of a third goalie in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 25 - 1:15 AM

Anders Nilsson will start Tuesday's game versus Minnesota.

Nilsson had a shutout against Ottawa in his first match with the Canucks, but he was pulled early against Boston in his next outing after he surrendered four goals on 17 shots. He has a 3.38 GAA and .918 save percentage going into Tuesday's start.
Oct 24 - 1:04 PM

Anders Nilsson was pulled in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Boston Bruins.

Nilsson lasted just 10:44 in this game, as he allowed four goals on 17 shots in the defeat. Jacob Markstrom entered the game in relief of Nilsson and allowed two more goals on 18 shots. The loss drops Nilsson's record to 1-1-0 on the season. He owns a 3.40 goals-against-average and a .918 save percentage so far in 2017-18.
Oct 19 - 10:32 PM

Anders Nilsson will be the Canucks' starting goaltender on Thursday.

That's not surprising given that Nilsson posted a 32-save shutout on Tuesday. Jacob Markstrom has gotten off to a rough start this season, so there's an opportunity here for Nilsson to challenge for the starting job.
Oct 19 - 12:10 PM

Anders Nilsson turned aside all 32 shots he faced in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Well, Nilsson's first start of the season couldn't have gone much better. Ottawa was the better team in the first period, but thanks to Nilsson the Canucks were able to go into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead. Performances like this could lead to him seeing more action. Despite the solid outing, he still isn't worth owning in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 17 - 10:30 PM

Anders Nilsson is expected to get the start in Tuesday's game against the Ottawa Senators.

Starter Jacob Markstom was on the ice with the healthy scratch this morning, which would indicate that Nilsson will be the starter. Nilsson hasn't played in a game for the Canucks this season. He had a 10-10-4 record with a 2.67 goals-against-average and a .923 save percentage with the Sabres.
Oct 17 - 3:23 PM

The Vancouver Canucks have signed goaltender Anders Nilsson to a two-year contract worth $5 million.

This is a sneaky pick by the Canucks as Nilsson is more than capable in net and could be the starter over Jacob Markstrom. Nilsson was 10-10-4 with Buffalo last season and had a 2.67 GAA and .923 save percentage. Don't forget about him late in drafts as he is a nice sleeper pick.
Jul 1 - 12:32 PM

Anders Nilsson will probably end up signing with the Vancouver Canucks.

Nilsson can make that happen on Saturday when he becomes an unrestricted free agent. He had a 2.67 GAA and .923 save percentage in 26 contests in 2016-17. If the Canucks do sign Nilsson then that would presumably shut the door on Ryan Miller returning.
