Anders Nilsson was able to top Henrik Lundqvist in Thursday's 4-3 win thanks to a mad finish by Jack Eichel.
Nilsson stopped 22 of 25 shots, including eight of 10 on the kill. Down 3-2 late in the third, Eichel took it upon himself to fix that and scored the final two goals of the game to improve Nilsson's record to 4-2-2 on the season with a 2.30 GAA and .934 save percentage. Dec 1 - 11:55 PM

The Buffalo Sabres have tabbed Anders Nilsson for Thursday's match against the Rangers.

Through seven games Nilsson has allowed just 15 goals and boasts a beastly .939 save percentage. While that's certainly going to fall at some point this season, why must it be tonight? His SV% at home is .958 and against Eastern foes is .947.
Dec 1 - 5:56 PM

Anders Nilsson should be in goal for the Sabres on Thursday night versus the Rangers.

Robin Lehner is day-to-day with a hip injury, but could be available to serve as Nilsson's understudy. If he can't then Linus Ullmark will be brought up from the AHL's Rochester Americans.
Dec 1 - 7:25 AM

Anders Nilsson stopped 26 of 29 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Robin Lehner got the start for Buffalo, but he was forced to exit the game in the first period because of an injury. Nilsson was credited with the win. He improved his record to 3-2-2 on the season. He has a 2.20 goals-against-average and a .939 save percentage this season. He'll be the number one goaltender if Lehner is forced to miss significant time.
Nov 29 - 11:20 PM

Anders Nilsson allowed three goals on 32 shots in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

It's the first time in three starts that he gives up more than two goals in a game. He has a 2-2-2 record with a 1.96 goals-against-average and a .945 save percentage in 2016-17. His fantasy value would only increase if Robin Lehner suffered an injury.
Nov 25 - 8:25 PM

It's Anders Nilsson's turn in net Friday night against the Capitals.

Nilsson has allowed just nine goals so far this season in five games, though his record is just 2-1-2. If you're looking for a sneaky play tonight, he could be your man as the Caps put Philipp Grubauer in their net.
Nov 25 - 4:05 PM

Anders Nilsson faced a whopping 47 shots and let only one past as the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 Saturday night.

Nilsson climbed over the 500 mark with aplomb and recorded a save percentage of .979. His record now sits at 2-1-2. Heavy shot totals marked his 2-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils November 11th. He also had a shutout win over the Florida Panthers October 29th. With limited action, he has been a solid fantasy value nonetheless.
Nov 19 - 10:40 PM

Anders Nilsson will face Pittsburgh on Saturday night.

Nilsson has been good for the Sabres this season, allowing just eight goals in four games with a shutout. The team he blanked? Florida on 33 saves. Take a flyer if you're in need.
Nov 19 - 1:18 PM

Anders Nilsson played a "great game" on Friday, according to Sabres coach Dan Bylsma.

Nilsson stopped 41 pucks in the Sabres' 2-1 OT loss to the Devils, including 14 in the third period. The goal that beat him in overtime was scored on a penalty shot. "He played a great game, played strong again and gave us a chance to win the game," said Bylsma. "He was a part of that penalty kill with several big saves. ... For his work, you'd like him to get the 'W.'"
Nov 12 - 8:17 AM

Anders Nilsson allowed two goals on 43 shots in Friday's 2-1 OT loss to the Devils.

It's hard to blame Nilsson for the loss tonight. First, he made 41 saves and second, the overtime winner was scored on a penalty shot. Nilsson has a 1-1-2 record with a 1.96 goals-against-average and a .942 save percentage.
Nov 11 - 11:06 PM

According to number one goalie Robin Lehner, Anders Nilsson will get the nod on Friday against New Jersey.

Lehner has started the last six contests and he'll probably be back between the pipes for Saturday's road rematch versus the Devils. Nilsson has a 1-1-1 record this season along with a 1.96 GAA and a .937 save percentage. He posted a shutout against Florida on Oct. 29 in his last outing.
Nov 11 - 8:01 AM

Andres Nilsson recorded his first shutout since the 2011-12 season by stopping all 33 shots Florida fired at him in the 3-0 win.

Nilsson was tested early and often, including nine shots on the penalty kill. He was simply sensational as the victory lifts his record to 1-1-1 with just six goals against so far this season.
Oct 29 - 6:09 PM

Anders Nilsson will be between the pipes for Saturday afternoon's tilt against the Florida Panthers.

Take note that this one starts at 1:00 p.m. ET. Nilsson is making his third consecutive start for the Sabres, as starter Robin Lehner remains out. He has a 0-1-1 record with a 2.90 goals-against-average and .903 save percentage this season.
Oct 29 - 11:39 AM

Anders Nilsson allowed three goals on 21 shots in Buffalo's 4-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild.

This was Nilsson's second straight start for the Sabres and he came up short in both of them. He's been playing because starter Robin Lehner is out with an illness. Nilsson has an 0-1-1 record with a 2.90 goals-against-average and a .903 save percentage this season. He isn't worth adding in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 27 - 10:03 PM

Anders Nilsson will play between the pipes on Thursday.

That's not surprising given that Robin Lehner is battling an illness. Nilsson made his season debut on Tuesday, turning aside 38 of 41 shots in a 4-3 shootout loss to Philadelphia.
