Anders Nilsson and the Swedes won bronze at the 2014 World Hockey Championship by beating the Czech Republic 3-0 on Sunday.

It remains to be seen if Nilsson will return to the NHL next season or ply his trade in Europe. He might have better financial opportunities overseas, as he is a restricted free agent with mediocre numbers with the New York Islanders.

Anders Nilsson is leaning towards playing in Europe in 2014-15.

Nilsson is set to become a restricted free agent after completing his entry-level contract. He had a 3.11 GAA and .896 save percentage in 19 games with the Islanders in 2013-14. Even if he sticks with New York, he will probably start next season in the minors.

Anders Nilsson will get the start on Sunday for the Islanders.

This makes sense as Evgeni Nabokov played on Saturday. Nilsson is 6-5-2 with a 3.17 GAA and a .892 save percentage but is coming off a big win on Wednesday as he stopped 35 of 36 shots in a 2-1 win over Ottawa.

Islanders goaltender Anders Nilsson was excellent Wednesday in a 2-1 win over the Senators.

Nilsson turned aside 35 of the 36 shots he faced in the victory to earn himself a third consecutive win. His record is a much-improved 6-5-2, while his GAA is 3.17 and his save percentage is .892. His numbers might not look all that great, but anyone who's been riding him during the fantasy playoffs is happy with the production they have received.
