Anders Nilsson (illness) was back on the ice for Monday's practice.

Nilsson didn't suit up on Saturday because of an illness. Thatcher Demko got his first NHL start because Jacob Markstrom also was feeling completely healthy. However, Demko is back in the minors now, so Nilsson and Markstrom are both probably available to play.

Anders Nilsson is reportedly feeling sick.

Nilsson may not be available to play Saturday as a result. Multiple sources believe that Thatcher Demko will start against Columbus. Jacob Markstrom is reportedly dealing with a minor lower-body injury. If Demko does get the nod, it's unclear at this time who will be available to back him up.
Mar 31 - 1:42 PM

Anders Nilsson allowed four goals on 25 shots in a 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Nilsson hasn't won a game for Vancouver since Feb. 17. Going 0-4-2 since then while allowing a combined 24 goals. The bad news for Canucks fans is that they are tied to the uninspiring backup for another season and starter Jacob Markstrom for another two seasons. Nilsson was peerless in the first period before letting in goals to Tyler Toffoli and Anze Kopitar in the second. Tanner Pearson also got him in the third period. He has been tagged for three or more goals in five straight appearances. It begs the question - could the Canucks live without Nilsson? They can't give anymore.

The 27-year-old Swedish netminder has a 7-12-3 record with a 3.52 goals-against-average and .901 save percentage this season.

Anders Nilsson allowed five goals on 34 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime setback against the visiting Colorado Avalanche.

Nilsson was actually staked to a 4-1 lead late in the second period, but a couple of late penalties in that period resulted in two power-play goals. He still held a 4-3 lead into the final 20 minutes, but Tyson Barrie again erupted on the man advantage with 3:01 left to force overtime. It was yet another PPG by Nathan MacKinnon in the extra session which was the final nail in his coffin. Silly infractions and the penalty kill unit did Nilsson no favors in this one.
