Freddie Hamilton might not be sent to the minors if he does clear waivers.

"We’re hoping that Freddie doesn’t get claimed," said Flames head coach Glen Gulutzan said. "We’re going to have roster issues once everybody is healthy, but a lot can happen from now ’til then." Waiving Hamilton gives Calgary some roster flexibility for when Jaromir Jagr is ready to be taken off the injured reserve list, but Jagr has already been ruled out for Thursday's game. Hamilton has only been used in two contests this season.

Freddie Hamilton, Garnet Hathaway and Tyler Wotherspoon will each be scratched Friday night against Columbus.

Hamilton has posted just one point during his 16 games of action thus far, while Hathaway has managed four points in his 15 games. Which unfortunately mark well their potential fantasy value.
