Jordan Szwarz had a close call on Saturday.

Szwarz's chin was cut by a skate, but it could have been worse. "It was kind of a fluke accident," Szwarz said. "Last minute of the second period there one of the New Jersey players (Reid Boucher) fell and as he was falling, his leg came up and just caught me under the chin." Szwarz received some stitches during the second intermission and stayed in the game. After the contest, he had additional stitches, bringing the total up to 10 or 11 by his count.

Szwarz is most useful in the grit categories, as he has 17 hits and 19 PIM to go with two goals in 20 games at the NHL level in 2013-14. Overall, he's not likely to make a huge impact at this point, though.
