Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has yet to get a point in the Oilers first two games.
The Oilers have found the back of the net 12 times in the first two games but Nugent-Hopkins has yet to hear his name over the loud speaker. He also has struggled at the face off dot, winning only 29 percent of his draws. While it has been only a couple of games, the face off losses have to be of concern to the Oilers. Look for a 50 point season from RNH. Oct 16 - 6:48 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was flanked by Benoit Pouliot and Jesse Puljujarvi at Tuesday's practice.

It was his first session in training camp after returning from the World Cup of Hockey as a member of Team North America. Nugent-Hopkins played well as a two-way pivot at the tournament, but Edmonton will be expecting much more offense from him in 2016-17. He posted 12 goals and 34 points in 55 games last year.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins isn't letting the trade rumors this off-season get to him.

"I try not to pay attention too much ... if it happens, it happens," he said. "I know it's definitely a different group than the one we finished with last season." Nugent-Hopkins has been linked to defensemen like Minnesota's Matt Dumba and Colorado's Tyson Barrie. He registered 12 goals and 34 points in 55 games with the Oilers last season.

There are rumors floating around that have Ryan Nugent-Hopkins being on the trading block with the Wild as a possible destination.

The Oilers badly need help on their blueline and the Wild need a center, so it's assumed that defenseman Matt Dumba will be the return for the former first overall pick in 2011. Nugent-Hopkins has been a disappointment since injuring his shoulder in his second NHL season and that is not a good injury to have for a hockey player. Nugent-Hopkins had 12 goals and 34 points in 55 injury-plagued games this past season so maybe he needs a fresh start as well. Stay tuned.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will play for Team North America at the World Championships.

North America will be made up of American and Canadian players 23 years of age and under so Nugent-Hopkins will be their wily old veteran at the age of 23. "Since I’ve played more years than other guys I hoped my experience would get me there (313 games)," said Nugent-Hopkins. "Feels weird but I’ll be one of the oldest guys on the team and be counted on and if I have to play a different role on the team, I hope to have an impact. It’s strange to be one of the older guys (23). I’ll play wherever they want me to go." Nugent-Hopkins is still rehabbing an injured finger that kept him out of the World Championship but he will be good to go in September. He has been a disappointment after going first overall in 2011 and do not be surprised if he is dealt elsewhere during the off-season as the Oilers are loaded down the middle.
May 28 - 9:09 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins closed his season with his 12th goal of the year.

Nugent-Hopkins played in just 55 games, but managed to post 34 points along the way. His talent is undeniable, which is why he makes such an intriguing trade target to help fill out the rest of the roster.
Apr 10 - 2:41 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (concussion) returned to action Saturday.

It was not a good return for the former first overall choice in the 2011 Draft as RNH was a minus-two with nary a point in a 5-0 loss to Calgary. He played 13:51 including 1:03 on the second power play unit with Mark Letestu and Patrick Maroon. Don't be surprised if Nugent-Hopkins is dealt elsewhere during the off-season as the Oilers have plenty of offense up front especially at center, but need help on the blueline.
Apr 3 - 3:10 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (concussion) could be back in the lineup on Saturday.

Nugent-Hopkins was skating hard in practice Friday and with only three games left in the Oilers schedule, he could be ready to go as early as Saturday. He has played in only 52 games this season and the former first overall pick in the 2011 Draft has only 11 goals and 33 points, in what is yet another disappointing season. He could be dealt in the off-season as the Oilers need help elsewhere and are strong down the middle. Stay tuned.
Apr 2 - 8:38 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (concussion) might be available for Wednesday's game against Vancouver.

That's Edmonton's final game of the season and its last ever in Rexall Place. Nugent-Hopkins has been limited to 52 contests in 2015-16 between his current concussion and a broken hand.
Apr 1 - 11:02 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (concussion) was on the ice on Monday.

Nugent-Hopkins would like to return before the end of the season. Recoveries from concussions can be hard to predict and Edmonton only has three games left, so nothing is certain. That being said, the fact that Nugent-Hopkins resumed skating rather quickly is a good sign.
Mar 29 - 8:56 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins did not skate on Friday as he is still suffering from a concussion.

The Oilers are calling the concussion minor so he could return shortly. Nevertheless, he did not skate Friday so he is doubtful to play Saturday. RNH has only 11 goals and 33 points in 52 games this season and the former first overall pick in 2011 is moving down the depth charts in Edmonton.
Mar 26 - 7:52 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' upper-body injury is a concussion.

Nugent-Hopkins will miss Thursday's contest. It's worth noting that Edmonton is terming this concussion as "minor" so he might not end up missing much time.
Mar 24 - 3:44 PM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins left Edmonton's game with Arizona on Tuesday with an upper-body-injury.

RNH left in the second period after getting hit by Connor Murphy. I'll have to look at [the replay] again. I didn't sense that there was anything dirty," Oilers coach Todd McLellan said. "Hopefully he's good [Wednesday]."
Mar 23 - 2:33 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins logged just under 16 minutes of ice time and feels good after his return to the lineup Saturday.

Nugent-Hopkins was paired on the third line for the Oilers in his first game back after missing seven weeks with a broken finger. Throughout the contest, Nugent-Hopkins had 19 shifts and took 19 face-offs. "I didn’t get too tired because I didn’t play a ton of minutes. I did feel I was involved in the game, though" Nugent-Hopkins said.
Mar 14 - 11:31 AM

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will be flanked by Lauri Korpikoski and Nail Yakupov in Saturday's match with Arizona.

Combined, Korpikoski and Yakupov have posted 15 goals and 34 points this season over 107 games. Nugent-Hopkins meanwhile has posted eight goals and 30 points in 46 games. Quite the production rate gap there.
