Adam Larsson didn't skate in the morning or play Wednesday after he was hit with a shot during Tuesday's practice.

Larsson has five assists, 43 blocks and a plus-3 rating in 29 games with New Jersey this season. Henrik Tallinder suited up in his place against the Boston Bruins. For now, we'll list Larsson as day-to-day with an undisclosed ailment.
Apr 11 - 10:20 AM

The Devils will scratch Adam Larsson yet again Saturday against Toronto.

It will be the third game in four that Larsson will sit in the press box. The Devils are in a battle for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and it is obvious that New Jersey head coach Peter DeBoer just doesn't trust him enough to play well in important games. Follow DeBoer's lead and keep Larsson far away from your active roster.
Apr 6 - 10:29 AM

Adam Larsson will be in the lineup Saturday against the Panthers.

He was a healthy scratch Friday against the Lightning but will draw back in likely at the expense of Mark Fayne.
Mar 30 - 12:13 PM

Adam Larsson will be replaced by Mark Fayne for Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Coach Pete DeBoer usually chooses to sit Larsson in the press box once or twice a month so he can see the game from a different angle. The former No. 4 overall pick has struggled of late, particularly on the offensive end. After scoring two goals and 18 points in 65 games in his rookie year, Larsson has just five assists in 27 contests this season.
Mar 29 - 12:14 PM

Adam Larsson will be a healthy scratch on Thursday.

"I guess they had to do something with six straight losses," Larsson said. Devils coach Pete DeBoer said there wasn't necessarily anything that Larsson was doing wrong, but he wants to get some "fresh legs" into the lineup.
Mar 7 - 2:00 PM

Adam Larsson accidentally deflected a puck into his own net during his season debut Thursday.

It was hard to fault Larsson for the deflection, who otherwise played a decent game. The Swedish defenseman played 17:51 against the Islanders and even got some time on both special teams units. Larsson has a ton of offensive potential, but it's tough to recommend him when coach Pete DeBoer won't commit to playing him on a nightly basis.
Feb 1 - 10:13 AM

Adam Larsson will suit up for the Devils for the first time this season on Thursday night against the Islanders.

He will replace Mark Fayne, who has a minor arm injury, in the lineup. Larsson has been a healthy scratch for the team's previous five games.
Jan 31 - 12:21 PM

The Devils don't appear to have any plans to send Adam Larsson down to the minors for playing time.

"It really is just five games and certainly all of us are aware of a young player," GM Lou Lamoriello said. "All of us are aware of his progress and development and both the coaching staff and myself are on the same page with this. When it's the right time, he'll play." Larsson has been a healthy scratch for New Jersey's opening five games this season.
Jan 30 - 3:30 PM

Adam Larsson will be one of three healthy scratches for the second straight game Tuesday.

The Devils are jammed on the back end as evidenced by the eight defensemen on their NHL roster. For his part, Larsson isn't creating any waves, saying he's fine sitting as long as the team keeps winning. "I don't think he'll change the lineup when we win games. I think that's a good thing, even when I'm (the guy) out," Larsson said of coach Pete DeBoer. "As long as the team wins games the lineup should stay the same."
Jan 22 - 4:58 PM

Adam Larsson is staying positive despite the fact that he started the season in the press box.

Larsson talked with Devils coach Pete DeBoer about being a healthy scratch. "He was honest with me," Larsson said. "We had a good chat there. I’m just going to try to keep my mood up and be ready when I’m in the lineup." DeBoer said that Larsson will have a "big role" this season, although we remain skeptical.
Jan 21 - 8:25 AM

Adam Larsson will be a healthy scratch on Saturday.

"(Larsson) will be out tonight," Devils coach Pete DeBoer said, "but I thought he had a very good camp for us. I told him that he's going to play a big role for us this year." It's hard to envision Larsson playing a bigger role for the Devils in 2013 when DeBoer didn't even include him in the team's opening game lineup. Larsson has plenty of offensive upside, but standard league owners might want to seriously look at their alternatives.
Jan 19 - 2:14 PM

Adam Larsson might make the Devils team even if he's not in the most critical role.

When asked if Larsson would be a member of the team even if he wasn't a top-six defenseman, Devils coach Pete DeBoer argued that all 23 roster players will get ice time. "No one is going to be sitting for eight or 10 games," DeBoer said. "That’s not realistic. This is going to be a war of attrition. Everybody is going to get an opportunity." Granted, but Larsson needs to be more than a depth guy in order to have any fantasy value. He has plenty of offensive upside, but you're taking a sizable risk if you draft him in standard leagues.
Jan 17 - 3:39 PM

Adam Larsson feels he benefited tremendously from playing a lot and in all situations with AHL Albany this campaign.

"I've been stronger, I've been faster," he said. "It's a different type of play down there. There's not a lot of system and it can be hard some games. You never know. You can get three guys on you. That's probably the biggest difference compared to here and I think that's a good experience to have. It's been very helpful for me. It's been fun." New Jersey coach Pete DeBoer feels that Larsson made positive strides in the minors as well. The fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft earned 19 points in 33 games with Albany during the lockout.
Jan 14 - 5:20 PM

Blueliner Adam Larsson scored a goal for the Albany River Rats in a 5-2 win over Binghamton Sunday.

After recording 18 points as a rookie with New Jersey last season, the fourth overall pick from the 2011 draft has now registered 17 points in 31 contests in the AHL. Expect him to join his NHL teammates as training camp opens later this week.
