Date:

Adam Larsson (upper body) won't play Wednesday night.

Larsson may be sidelined longer than initially thought because of an upper-body injury that has already kept him out of the last two games. A return on the weekend was viewed as a possibility, but that may not be the case anymore.
Dec 5 - 2:49 PM

Adam Larsson (upper body) did not practice on Monday.

Larsson may not be ready to play Wednesday against Philadelphia, but a return this weekend remains a possibility. He has missed two games already because of an upper-body injury.
Dec 4 - 3:29 PM

Adam Larsson (upper body) has been moved to the injured reserve list.

Larsson was a late scratch on Thursday due to the injury. The good news is that Edmonton thinks Larsson will only end up missing the one week he must spend on the IR list after being placed there.
Dec 1 - 2:27 PM

Adam Larsson was a late scratch on Thursday due to an undisclosed injury.

We don't know anything beyond that about Larsson's injury yet, but more information might be made available Friday afternoon. For now we'll regard him as day-to-day, but it would be a big blow to the Oilers if Larsson was sidelined for any prolonged period of time. He might not have fantasy value in standard leagues, but Edmonton has been counting on him to average 22:30 minutes per contest.
Dec 1 - 6:51 AM

Adam Larsson had one of the best all-around games played by a defensemen Friday night against his former team, the Devils.

In 23:07 of game action Larsson blocked six shots, dished out an astronomical 13 hits and registered an assist. The Devils certainly knew when he was on the ice. We have always liked Larsson. The only question with him is whether he's only going to be a very good NHL defenseman or a very good fantasy one.

Nov 4 - 2:27 PM

The Edmonton Oilers have given up only three goals in their last two games.

That is after 19 goals in their previous four contests. The Oilers managed to drop a 2-1 decision to the Flyers Saturday but their defense has undergone a great improvement. "I thought we did a lot of good things," Adam Larsson said. "It was obviously a tough loss, but our game has been a lot better. We have to keep going. We can’t get down on ourselves. This was a tough one but we have to move on." Larsson has a goal in seven games so his fantasy value is limited at best but he did play 24:21 Saturday.
Oct 22 - 7:55 AM

Adam Larsson logged a staggering 44:58 minutes of ice time in Friday's 4-3 2OT loss to Anaheim.

Larsson was leaned on so heavily because defenseman Andrej Sekera was hurt in the first period and didn't return. Larsson also registered an assist, giving him five points in 11 contests in the 2017 playoffs.
May 6 - 4:52 AM

Adam Larsson scored two goals and registered an assist in Edmonton's 5-3 victory over Anaheim in Game 1 Wednesday night.

Larsson had never had a multi-goal game in the NHL before and he picked a great time for his first. His second goal of the contest came at 15:20 of the third period and proved to be the game winner. He's not much of an offensive force and we wouldn't count on him to have another big offensive game in the 2017 playoffs, but the Oilers have been led so far by unlikely heroes, so you never know.
Apr 27 - 10:50 AM

Adam Larsson will play on Sunday against the Predators.

Through 59 games this season the defender has posted three goals and 15 points along with 106 blocks and 182 hits this season. Pretty good if you're in the right pool.
Feb 26 - 5:05 PM

The Edmonton Oilers could sit Adam Larsson (lower body) one more game Sunday.

Larsson has been out of action for the last three games and although he practiced on Saturday, it may be for the best to allow him to rest one more time. Larsson has three goals and 15 points this season but has been a giant on the blueline, eating up minutes and playing a solid game in front of Cam Talbot. He has been a big reason for the Oilers turnaround but his fantasy value is still negligible in traditional pools.
Feb 26 - 8:41 AM

Adam Larsson (lower body) took to the ice to practice with his teammates on Saturday.

He missed Friday's match with the Capitals, and it looks like he's trending towards taking on the Predators on Sunday. We'll keep you posted. He's still considered day-to-day.
Feb 25 - 12:45 PM

Adam Larsson (lower body) was not on the ice for Friday's morning skate, and will not play against the Capitals.

Larsson noted that he hopes to be able to play Sunday against the Predators, however. Until then, he's considered day-to-day.
Feb 24 - 1:49 PM

Adam Larsson (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup on Wednesday night.

He missed most of the third period on Tuesday because of an unspecified injury. Larsson was seen limping after the game and should be considered day-to-day for now.
Feb 22 - 1:35 PM

Adam Larsson registered an assist in a 4-1 loss to Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

It was Larsson's 12th assist and 15th point in 59 contests this season. Although there was some potential for him to see his offensive presence grow with the transition from New Jersey to Edmonton, in the end it doesn't seem to have impacted him at all from that perspective.
