Adam Larsson loves playing against the Arizona Coyotes as he has six points in six games.
Larsson has just 68 points in 290 games against every other NHL team and the two teams meet tonight so if you are looking for an inexpensive defenseman in DFS, Larsson is worth a play. Nov 27 - 8:00 AM

Adam Larsson scored his second goal of the season Friday in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Arizona Coyotes.

He gave the Oilers a 2-0 lead, but the Coyotes fought back for the victory. Larsson has one goal and one assist in his last two games and five points in 22 matches overall.
Nov 26 - 11:21 AM

Adam Larsson has a goal and three points in 16 games this season.

There was some speculation that Larsson might step up offensively by moving from the New Jersey Devils to Edmonton Oilers, but so far that hasn't materialized. He has been logging 20:20 minutes per game though and has 45 hits and 28 blocks this season.
Nov 15 - 10:34 AM

Adam Larsson had a maintenance day off Saturday.

That was his second in three days but coach Todd McLellan said that there was nothing wrong with the blueliner, just that he has been playing plenty of minutes. The Oilers did give up Taylor Hall to get Larsson and while his offensive skills have not been up to what many thought they would be when he was drafted fourth overall in 2011, he is a very solid defenseman who should get 25-30 points this season.
Oct 16 - 6:45 AM

Adam Larsson registered an assist in Edmonton's 7-4 win against Calgary Wednesday night.

It was Larsson's debut after being involved in the Taylor Hall trade. Despite his potential, Larsson was never a major offensive contributor in New Jersey, but it will be interesting to see if that changes with the Oilers. He did log 1:41 minutes of power-play ice time in the opener.

Oilers forward Mark Letestu believes his team is better after the Adam Larsson for Taylor Hall trade.

"I got over it in two days…guys come and go," said Letestu. "I know there’s a certain attachment fans have with Taylor…he was the light, part of the players who were going to take us to the playoffs. But for me, I think we got better. He’s steady…he doesn’t play a flashy game. You don’t see him on the highlights and maybe that’s why there’s so much angst (with fans). But he fits what we’re trying to do more and that’s keep the puck out of our net more and it sounds like there’s more offence to him and he’ll probably get that opportunity here. We needed help on the back-end and had to pay a high price for that." Many fans in Edmonton and around the league believe the Oilers got the worst of this trade, but more than a few current Oilers have come out and defended the trade. From a fantasy perspective, there's no comparing Hall and Larsson (they play different positions anyway).

Devils goalie Cory Schneider knows it won't be easy for his team to replace Adam Larsson.

"It's hard to replicate that, you don't find players like that very easily. That's why Edmonton had to give up such a good player to get him, because they're hard to come by," Schneider said of Larsson. "It will definitely create a hole for us, but we're hoping that there's some guys here that can fill that void and have a chance to step up." The Devils shipped Larsson to Edmonton for Taylor Hall last June.
Aug 19 - 9:57 AM

Adam Larsson is hoping to develop the offensive side of his game as a member of the Oilers.

"I think I can take an even bigger step," Larsson said. "There was a lot of focus on defense and penalty kill last year and the next step is to be more offensive, and hopefully, get more power-play time." He expects to take on more responsibilities as a member of Edmonton's defense corps, so his production should increase. Larsson is worth keeping an eye on as a two-way blueliner, but you shouldn't expect him to post 40 or 50 points.
Jul 26 - 5:20 PM

Adam Larsson is excited to be a member of the Edmonton Oilers.

Prior to coming to New Jersey, Larsson was seen as a blueliner that had a lot of offensive potential. The Devils pushed Larsson into being more of a defensive-minded defenseman and while that's helped his game, he's hoping to grow offensively now that he's in Edmonton. "I feel I’m a good fit for that team," Larsson said of the Oilers.
Jun 30 - 9:02 AM

Adam Larsson has been dealt to the Edmonton Oilers for Taylor Hall.

In 82 games last season, Larsson recorded three goals and 18 points, which was down from his personal best of 24 over 64 contests in 2014-15. Larsson was the fourth overall pick in 2011 and he hasn't developed his two-way game the way New Jersey hoped he would.
Jun 29 - 3:55 PM

Adam Larsson (illness) will play Tuesday night.

He didn't skate in Monday's practice because of an illness, but he is ready to play against Pittsburgh.
Jan 26 - 12:38 PM

Adam Larsson missed Monday's practice due to an illness.

The hope is that Larsson will still be able to play on Tuesday, but we'll have to wait and see. He has two goals and 13 points in 49 contests in 2015-16.
Jan 26 - 8:50 AM

Adam Larsson registered two assists in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

The 23-year-old had just one point in his previous nine games before Tuesday's tilt against St. Louis. Larsson picked up a secondary assist on Bobby Farnham's goal and the primary assist on Lee Stempniak's tally. He has one goal and 10 points in 44 games.
Jan 12 - 10:57 PM

Although it's been hard at times for Adam Larsson to earn regular minutes with New Jersey, he said he never considered asking for a trade.

The subject came up because another highly regarded prospect, Tampa Bay's Jonathan Drouin, wants to be traded after struggling to solidify a role with the Lightning. "It never crossed my mind to ask for a trade or anything like that," Larsson said. "You just have to realize it's a process even if you're a young guy. You're not going to have the same role like you have in juniors or like you had before all the time. You just have to work your way through it." Now 23-years-old, Larsson hasn't developed into the offensive force we were hoping for, but he is averaging 22:05 minutes per game.
Jan 12 - 11:27 AM

Adam Larsson had an assist in a 2-1 shootout loss to Boston on Sunday.

Larsson snapped a six-game point drought. He has a goal and just seven points in 34 contests this season.
