Oilers forward Mark Letestu believes his team is better after the Adam Larsson for Taylor Hall trade.
"I got over it in two days…guys come and go," said Letestu. "I know there’s a certain attachment fans have with Taylor…he was the light, part of the players who were going to take us to the playoffs. But for me, I think we got better. He’s steady…he doesn’t play a flashy game. You don’t see him on the highlights and maybe that’s why there’s so much angst (with fans). But he fits what we’re trying to do more and that’s keep the puck out of our net more and it sounds like there’s more offence to him and he’ll probably get that opportunity here. We needed help on the back-end and had to pay a high price for that." Many fans in Edmonton and around the league believe the Oilers got the worst of this trade, but more than a few current Oilers have come out and defended the trade. From a fantasy perspective, there's no comparing Hall and Larsson (they play different positions anyway). Aug 28 - 12:26 PM

Devils goalie Cory Schneider knows it won't be easy for his team to replace Adam Larsson.

"It's hard to replicate that, you don't find players like that very easily. That's why Edmonton had to give up such a good player to get him, because they're hard to come by," Schneider said of Larsson. "It will definitely create a hole for us, but we're hoping that there's some guys here that can fill that void and have a chance to step up." The Devils shipped Larsson to Edmonton for Taylor Hall last June.

Adam Larsson is hoping to develop the offensive side of his game as a member of the Oilers.

"I think I can take an even bigger step," Larsson said. "There was a lot of focus on defense and penalty kill last year and the next step is to be more offensive, and hopefully, get more power-play time." He expects to take on more responsibilities as a member of Edmonton's defense corps, so his production should increase. Larsson is worth keeping an eye on as a two-way blueliner, but you shouldn't expect him to post 40 or 50 points.

Adam Larsson is excited to be a member of the Edmonton Oilers.

Prior to coming to New Jersey, Larsson was seen as a blueliner that had a lot of offensive potential. The Devils pushed Larsson into being more of a defensive-minded defenseman and while that's helped his game, he's hoping to grow offensively now that he's in Edmonton. "I feel I’m a good fit for that team," Larsson said of the Oilers.
Jun 30 - 9:02 AM

Adam Larsson has been dealt to the Edmonton Oilers for Taylor Hall.

In 82 games last season, Larsson recorded three goals and 18 points, which was down from his personal best of 24 over 64 contests in 2014-15. Larsson was the fourth overall pick in 2011 and he hasn't developed his two-way game the way New Jersey hoped he would.

Adam Larsson (illness) will play Tuesday night.

He didn't skate in Monday's practice because of an illness, but he is ready to play against Pittsburgh.
Jan 26 - 12:38 PM

Adam Larsson missed Monday's practice due to an illness.

The hope is that Larsson will still be able to play on Tuesday, but we'll have to wait and see. He has two goals and 13 points in 49 contests in 2015-16.
Jan 26 - 8:50 AM

Adam Larsson registered two assists in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

The 23-year-old had just one point in his previous nine games before Tuesday's tilt against St. Louis. Larsson picked up a secondary assist on Bobby Farnham's goal and the primary assist on Lee Stempniak's tally. He has one goal and 10 points in 44 games.

Although it's been hard at times for Adam Larsson to earn regular minutes with New Jersey, he said he never considered asking for a trade.

The subject came up because another highly regarded prospect, Tampa Bay's Jonathan Drouin, wants to be traded after struggling to solidify a role with the Lightning. "It never crossed my mind to ask for a trade or anything like that," Larsson said. "You just have to realize it's a process even if you're a young guy. You're not going to have the same role like you have in juniors or like you had before all the time. You just have to work your way through it." Now 23-years-old, Larsson hasn't developed into the offensive force we were hoping for, but he is averaging 22:05 minutes per game.
Jan 12 - 11:27 AM

Adam Larsson had an assist in a 2-1 shootout loss to Boston on Sunday.

Larsson snapped a six-game point drought. He has a goal and just seven points in 34 contests this season.

Adam Larsson's fight on Sunday was his first in the NHL.

Larsson also picked up two minutes for instigating and a 10-minute misconduct. The incident occurred early in the second period when Larsson took exception to Steve Bernier's boarding hit to Andy Greene. "It's another component of our team and (I'm) proud of that, proud of the response to that," Devils coach John Hynes said. "It was nice to see him step in there and stick up, especially on a hit like that and it was good to see. It's another component where you see they care about each other, they stick up for each other. You win and lose games, but that's a real important component to have and that was a bright spot tonight." It was one of the few bright spots for the Devils as they lost 4-0.

Adam Larsson had 17 penalty minutes in Sunday's 4-0 loss to the New York Islanders.

Larsson picked up the penalties on the same sequence. He dropped the gloves with Steve Bernier after the Islanders forward flattened Andy Greene. Larsson picked up five for fighting, two minutes for instigating and a 10 minute misconduct.

Adam Larsson had an assist in a 4-2 victory against the Florida Panthers on Sunday.

It was just Larsson's sixth point in 27 games this season. He showed some offensive promise under former coach Scott Stevens, but that hasn't translated to the 2015-16 campaign under new bench boss John Hynes.

Adam Larsson registered an assist in a 3-2 victory over Vancouver on Sunday.

Larsson has a goal and just four points in 20 games this season. He took a step forward in 2014-15 once Scott Stevens became the team's co-coach, but new bench boss John Hynes hasn't been getting the same results out of Larsson as far as the blueliners' offensive output goes.
Mon, Nov 23, 2015 09:10:00 AM

Adam Larsson won't face any supplemental discipline for his hit on Vancouver's Jared McCann.

He was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for interference at the 9:55 mark of the third period of Sunday's game. It's unclear at this time if the Devils will ask for a review to rescind the major penalty and game misconduct.
