The Bergen Record is speculating that the New Jersey Devils could trade one of their young blueliners for some much-needed scoring in the off-season.
The Devils have a glut of blueliners both on their team and in their system at this time. Adam Larsson has really turned around his career since the firing of previous head coach Peter DeBoer and it's unlikely the Devils will want to deal the fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft but you never know. Teams could be interested in Damon Severson, Jonathan Merrill and Eric Gelinas as well as Boston College prospect Steve Santini. Apr 4 - 7:52 AM

Co-coach Scott Stevens split up defensive pairing Adam Larsson and Andy Greene for the third period Saturday.

Larsson was paired with Jon Merrill while Greene played with Damon Severson. No reason. Scotty decided he wanted to make a little change," GM Lou Lamoriello claimed. "There is no reason sometimes. It isn't that there is something wrong when those things transpire." Larsson has really come on this season and is showing why he was selected fourth overall in 2011. Do not forget about him next season.
Mar 29 - 9:37 AM

Adam Larsson had an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss to Washington.

Larsson ended his four-game point drought. He has three goals and 22 points in 56 contests in 2014-15. He seemed to benefit from the Devils' coaching change this season and that might be the setup for a breakout campaign in 2015-16. He remains a gamble, but he's certainly worth keeping an eye on going forward.
Mar 27 - 11:14 AM

Adam Larsson had a team-high five shots on goal for the Devils, who fell 3-0 to the Islanders on Saturday night.

The Devils’ coaching change has been a huge benefit to Larsson, who has received more consistent playing time. The fourth overall pick from the 2011 draft has 21 points this season.
Mar 21 - 9:29 PM

Adam Larsson scored a goal in a 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators.

Larsson seemed amused by the fact that his third marker of 2014-15 also set a new career-high for him. He added, "It's always nice to score, but I don't really care about personal points at this point of the year. I think it's more important for the team to win." He's been on fire lately with a goal and six assists in his last seven games.
Mar 4 - 9:17 AM

Adam Larsson had a big offensive night on Friday with three assists.

Larsson is finally coming into his own this season after struggling for three seasons since being drafted fourth overall in 2011. Larsson has two goals and 15 points in 40 games and seems a cinch to pass his 18 point total of his rookie year. He is a candidate to get to 30-35 next season so draft him accordingly.
Feb 21 - 7:52 AM

Adam Larsson picked up two assists and was a plus-two on Friday.

The amazing thing about New Jersey's 4-1 win over Toronto was that every player on the Devils was a plus in the game with Larsson and Jonathon Merrill the only players at plus-two. We recommended Larsson a couple of weeks ago and he has come through of late as he has a goal and eight points in his last 12 games.
Feb 7 - 8:08 AM

Defenseman Adam Larsson, who is being touted these days by the New Jersey coaching staff as a player with tremendous upside, scored the Devils' only goal in regulation before the team's 2-1 shootout win over the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs Wednesday night.

Larsson was conspicuously active throughout the game before firing in his second goal of the season with 2:50 remaining in the third period. That tied the game at 1-1 and spoiled the shutout bid of Toronto goalie Jonathan Bernier. Larsson also had a team-high four shots on net. The victory by the Devils (18-22-8) was their third in four games (3-1-0). New Jersey will continue its five-game homestand against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.
Jan 28 - 10:50 PM

Adam Larsson has responded well to co-coach Scott Stevens and interim head coach/GM Lou Lamoriello.

Since Pete DeBoer was fired, Larsson has become a big factor. Granted, the sample size is small, but Larsson has logged over 23 minutes in each of his last three contests. "It's a lot of fun," Larsson said. "It's been a real change for us from the coaches standpoint. I feel like I have a lot of fun at the rink right now and, hopefully, we can continue." Larsson was taken with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, but he struggled to cement his spot with the Devils during DeBoer's tenure. Now he's getting a fresh opportunity and is worth keeping an eye on.
Jan 8 - 9:29 AM

New co-coach Scott Stevens still thinks that Adam Larsson can produce offensively in the NHL.

And not just produce but produce at a high level. Larsson was drafted fourth overall in the 2011 Draft but has struggled at the NHL level which is not surprising for a very young defenseman. "Forget where you’re drafted, forget what people expected just be an important part of this team," Stevens declared. He also said that Larsson needs to get back the coach's trust. Don't give up on him yet.

Adam Larsson "thinks" he is back in the lineup on Tuesday night.

He hasn't played since Dec. 2 due to the mumps. New Jersey might dress seven defensemen in the match because injuries and illness have thinned them up front. If that happens then Larsson's chances of playing improve even if he sees limited minutes.

Adam Larsson will be available on Saturday as he played one game in the minors on a conditioning stint before being recalled.

Larsson was out with the mumps and could draw back into the Devils lineup against Washington. He has a goal and four points this season in 17 games. Larsson has been a disappointment since going fourth overall in 2011, but to be fair, it does take defensemen a lot longer to establish themselves than it takes forwards in the NHL.

Adam Larsson (mumps) will only spend Friday in the AHL on his current conditioning stint.

Larsson might play on Saturday against Washington as a result. He has a goal and four points in 17 games this season.
Fri, Dec 19, 2014 12:36:00 PM

Adam Larsson (mumps) has been sent to AHL Albany on a conditioning assignment.

Larsson hasn't played since Dec. 2, so he'll get some work in with Albany before rejoining the Devils. He has a goal and four points in 17 games this season.
Fri, Dec 19, 2014 11:02:00 AM

Adam Larsson (mumps) is ready to return to New Jersey's lineup.

"I feel like I'm a coach's decision right now," said Larsson referring to Friday's game against Tampa Bay. "If they want me to play tomorrow, I feel comfortable doing that. If not, I'll just wait." He's been trying to get his conditioning back since he resumed skating on Saturday. If he gets the go-ahead to play then he will replace injured defenseman Damon Severson in the lineup.
