He is projected to not only have a career high in goals and points, but he is on pace to smash his previous best. Huberdeau picked up 20 goals and 59 points in 2015-16, but he is on pace to flirt with 30 goals and 80 points if he can stay healthy and keep on his current trajectory.

"A lot of people keep telling me this. It's something I have to do" admitted Huberdeau. "Pretty sure you're going to have more opportunities to make some plays, but when you don't want to force things, you got to shoot. That's what I want to try." He has produced three goals in his past two games, but one was an empty-netter. Huberdeau has 12 markers on 96 shots as well as 35 points in 36 matches this season.

The Panthers franchise hasn't enjoyed much in the way of star power so far in its life and Huberdeau is emerging as one of the first they've ever had. Currently, Olli Jokinen is the franchise point leader with 419, but if the Panthers keep Huberdeau around for the long run, then he should be able to push well beyond what a Panthers' forward has done in the past.

Huberdeau has eight goals and 26 points in 26 games in 2017-18. That matches his point total from 2016-17 when he was limited to 31 contests due to an Achilles tendon injury. The 24-year-old has never finished a season with more than 59 points, but he should be able to comfortably surpass that mark in 2017-18.

Huberdeau didn't practice on Monday due to an illness, but he looked to be in fine form on Tuesday, scoring the first two goals of the night against Dallas. It was Huberdeau's fifth multi-point game this season. Huberdeau now has seven goals and 21 points in 17 games.
