Jonathan Huberdeau is looking forward to being reunited with new Panthers head coach Gerard Gallant.
Huberdeau played for the Saint Jon Sea Dogs when Gallant was coaching that team. "It's good to be reunited with him, and I think things are going to be good with him here," said Huberdeau. "I'm excited for this. He's a guy who is intense and into the game. He keeps you up throughout the game. I think the guys are going to react to him. He wants what is best for the players." Panthers GM Dale Tallon is hoping that Gallant's prior success in the juniors will allow him to get the most out of Florida's young players. Jun 22 - 9:40 AM

Jonathan Huberdeau is familiar with new Florida coach Gerard Gallant.

Gallant was the bench boss of Huberdeau's QMJHL team, the Saint Jon Sea Dogs, for three seasons. Huberdeau was the captain of the squad in 2011-2012. The 21-year-old forward struggled through his sophomore season, but perhaps a reunion with Gallant can get him back on track and help him regain his confidence.

Jonathan Huberdeau had a decent showing at the IIHF World Hockey Championships the past two weeks.

He scored a goal and registered five points in eight games for Canada. Huberdeau was also a plus five for the tournament. The Panthers will be expecting much more than the 28 points he registered in 69 games this past NHL season. After showing his ability by winning the Calder Trohpy as the NHL's top rookie in 2012-13, Huberdeau may be poised for a bounce-back campaign in 2014-15.

Jonathan Huberdeau will play for Canada at the World Hockey Championships next month.

After winning the Calder Trophy in 2012-13, Huberdeau struggled in his sophomore campaign. He picked up nine goals and 28 points in 69 games after he registered 14 markers and 31 points in 48 contests during his rookie season. He'll try to gain some confidence back on a young Canadian squad at the tournament.
Apr 19 - 9:47 AM

Jonathan Huberdeau found the back of the net in Tuesday's loss to Philadelphia in his first game back from a concussion.

It was his first game after missing 11 straight and it was his first goal since Jan. 20. Huberdeau has had a disappointing sophomore season with nine goals and 28 points in 67 games. "It's important [to return]. I want to finish the season more positive than I ended up three weeks ago," Huberdeau said before the game. "I want to finish stronger and have a little bit more positive for the summer."
Apr 9 - 8:09 AM

Jonathan Huberdeau is expected to play Sunday afternoon against Dallas.

He has been sidelined since March 16th with a concussion but appears good to go Sunday. The game starts at 5:00 pm EST so make sure you have Huberdeau active if you need him.

Apr 5 - 9:51 AM

Jonathan Huberdeau is getting close to returning from a concussion.

He joined his teammates for Thursday's practice for the first time since he got injured on Mar. 16 against Vancouver. Huberdeau hasn't been completely ruled out for Friday's game versus Calgary, but he's more likely to be ready for Sunday's match with Dallas.
Apr 4 - 8:18 AM

Jonathan Huberdeau's upper-body injury is a concussion.

The good news is that Huberdeau started skating on Saturday and might practice with the Panthers within a week. He has eight goals and 27 points in 66 contests in 2013-14.
Mar 30 - 10:20 AM

Jonathan Huberdeau's (upper body) goal is to start skating again next week.

Huberdeau is hoping to return before the end of the 2013-14 campaign. He has eight goals and 27 points in 66 games this season.
Mar 28 - 4:00 PM

Jonathan Huberdeau (upper body) wasn't on the ice on Tuesday.

Huberdeau couldn't have possibly skated with his teammates given that he didn't travel with them to San Jose, but he wasn't on the ice in Florida either. Given that he's not even skating yet, Huberdeau isn't expected to join the Panthers before the end of their current road trip. That means he's likely to miss another three games in addition to Tuesday's contest against the Sharks.
Mar 18 - 3:34 PM

Jonathan Huberdeau (upper body) didn't travel with his teammates to San Jose for Tuesday night's game.

He suffered an upper-body injury in Sunday's contest versus Vancouver. Consider him as day-to-day for now.
Mar 18 - 8:07 AM

Don't be surprised if it's revealed that Jonathan Huberdeau (upper body) didn't make the trip to San Jose.

Huberdeau sustained the injury during Sunday's game and missed the conclusion of that contest as a result. However, when packing up the team's gear following the game, they didn't collect Huberdeau's, which might be an indication that he wasn't expected to travel with the team. The Panthers will play against the Sharks on Tuesday.
Mar 17 - 9:22 AM

Florida Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau suffered a lower-body injury during Sunday's game against the Vancouver Canucks and won't return.

He'll remain at 27 points in 66 games played this season, then. The 21-year-old is four points shy of matching his Calder Trophy-caliber 2012-13 season in which he scored 31 points in 48 lockout-shortened games.
Mar 16 - 4:25 PM

Jonathan Huberdeau provided two assists for the Panthers in their 5-3 win over the Devils Friday night.

Huberdeau has eight goals and 27 points through 65 games this season. Though the reigning Rookie of the Year doesn't play on the most potently offensive team, to put it nicely, the 20 year-old is definitely showing symptoms of a sophomore slump. Last season, Huberdeau put up 31 points in 48 games.
