Ryan Strome is projected to start Tuesday's game on the fourth line.
Strome had been playing on the third line, but Islanders coach Jack Capuano didn't want to paint the move as a demotion. "He put up a lot of points last year playing with Matty and Colin McDonald," Capuano said. "The great thing about Ryan is he can handle any assignment, as many minutes as I can give him. He may start there but he'll move around." Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck are expected to round out the fourth line. Dec 9 - 11:05 AM

Nov 27 - 9:35 AM

Ryan Strome had his first career three point game in the Islanders' 5-4 shootout win over Pittsburgh on Friday night.

With a goal and two assists, Strome now trails co-team point leaders Brock Nelson, Kyle Okposo and John Taveras by just three points 18-15. Last season he had 18 points in 37 games, and with 15 points through 19 games this season, it looks like the former fifth overall draft pick in 2011 is finally here to stay.
Nov 21 - 10:26 PM

Ryan Strome netted his third goal of the season Tuesday as the Islanders defeated Tampa Bay by a score of 5-2.

The talented center has now found the back of the net in three of his last four games after failing to score in his first 14. Cal Clutterbuck, Mikhail Grabovski, Casey Cizikas and Lubomir Visnovsky also scored for the Islanders in the winning effort.

Ryan Strome scored his first goal of the season and added an assist for the Islanders in a 6-0 defeat of Colorado Tuesday.

Nov 7 - 9:52 AM

Ryan Strome was back at center in practice on Friday.

Strome had been playing the wing but when coach Jack Capuano shuffled his lines Friday, Strome found himself back in the middle between Anders Lee and Matt Martin. Just an FYI in case you have Strome in your pool. He does have seven assists and a plus-four rating in 10 games.
Nov 1 - 8:01 AM

Ryan Strome had two assists in the Islanders' 6-3 victory over the Rangers Tuesday night.

Strome already has four points in three games. He's got a lot of offensive upside and isn't a bad gamble as a result if he's available on waivers. Keep in mind though that he's averaged just 13:29 minutes per game so far.
Oct 15 - 6:01 AM

Ryan Strome could be in some difficulty to make the Islanders roster out of training camp.

Anders Lee could be in the same boat as both players can be sent to the minors without going through waivers, something that isn't available to other Islander forwards. Strome could move from center to the wing as the Isles are strong down the middle with John Tavares, Mikhail Grabovski and Frans Nielsen already assured of spots in the lineup. Strome had seven goals and 18 points in 37 NHL games last season, showing that he deserves a chance to stay.
Sep 14 - 8:37 AM

Ryan Strome will likely play on the wing in 2014-15 if he makes the Islanders out of training camp.

New York will feature John Tavares, Mikhail Grabovski and Frans Nielsen down the middle. Strome, who is a natural cetner, isn't concerned about the possible position switch. "It doesn't really change and I don't know what to expect," he said. "I played center most of my time here and then the last week I played wing and I thought I played pretty well. Things change and being versatile is obviously an advantage. Whatever they have in mind, I'm prepared for." Strome split the 2013-14 campaign between the Islanders and the team's AHL affiliate in Bridgeport. He produced seven goals and 18 points in 37 NHL contests.
Aug 4 - 10:40 AM

Ryan Strome had six goals and 14 points in his last 22 games.

Strome began to show why the Islanders selected him with the fifth overall pick in the 2011 Draft and if he progresses, not too many teams will have the strength up the middle in their top two lines like New York has. John Tavares is unquestionably the top dog on the Island but with Strome fitting in nicely as the number two center, the Islanders have as solid a 1-2 punch as anyone with the exception of the Penguins, in the NHL.
Apr 14 - 8:40 AM

Rookie Ryan Strome scored his sixth goal of the season in the Islanders' 2-0 win over Montreal Thursday night.

Strome's power play marker broke a three-game pointless streak and brought his point total to 17 in 35 games as an NHLer. Brock Nelson also added his 13th of the year in the victory.
Apr 10 - 10:37 PM

Islanders forward Ryan Strome assisted on both of the team's goals in a 2-1 win over Ottawa Wednesday.

The Isles' phenom has now picked up six points in his last five games as gets more and more comfortable with the NHL game. He should be a top target in keeper formats. Josh Bailey also enjoyed a solid game with a goal and a helper of his own while Casey Cizikas netted the game-winner in the victory.
Apr 2 - 9:52 PM

Ryan Strome scored a goal for the Islanders in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to Tampa Bay.

The Isles' top prospect is slowly getting acclimated to the NHL game with 13 points in 28 contests. Every single game he plays this season makes him more prepared to take on an expansive role with the club in the future. Matt Donovan also registered his second marker of the season in the loss.
