Ryan Strome had six goals and 14 points in his last 22 games.
Strome began to show why the Islanders selected him with the fifth overall pick in the 2011 Draft and if he progresses, not too many teams will have the strength up the middle in their top two lines like New York has. John Tavares is unquestionably the top dog on the Island but with Strome fitting in nicely as the number two center, the Islanders have as solid a 1-2 punch as anyone with the exception of the Penguins, in the NHL. Rookie Ryan Strome scored his sixth goal of the season in the Islanders' 2-0 win over Montreal Thursday night.

Strome's power play marker broke a three-game pointless streak and brought his point total to 17 in 35 games as an NHLer. Brock Nelson also added his 13th of the year in the victory.
Apr 10 - 10:37 PM

Islanders forward Ryan Strome assisted on both of the team's goals in a 2-1 win over Ottawa Wednesday.

The Isles' phenom has now picked up six points in his last five games as gets more and more comfortable with the NHL game. He should be a top target in keeper formats. Josh Bailey also enjoyed a solid game with a goal and a helper of his own while Casey Cizikas netted the game-winner in the victory.
Apr 2 - 9:52 PM

Ryan Strome scored a goal for the Islanders in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to Tampa Bay.

The Isles' top prospect is slowly getting acclimated to the NHL game with 13 points in 28 contests. Every single game he plays this season makes him more prepared to take on an expansive role with the club in the future. Matt Donovan also registered his second marker of the season in the loss.
Mar 27 - 11:11 PM

Ryan Strome netted his fourth goal of the year in Saturday's 4-1 win over Buffalo.

He has 10 points in 24 NHL appearances this season, with three markers and three assists coming in nine games following the Olympic break.
Mar 17 - 10:02 AM

Ryan Strome found the back of the net in the Islanders' 7-4 victory over Vancouver on Monday.

With the Islanders' playoff chances squashed, Strome was summoned on Feb. 24. This is essentially an extended audition for the 2014-15 campaign and so far he's done well with two goals and five points in his last seven games.
Mar 11 - 9:55 AM

Ryan Strome had an assist as the Islanders' earned a 3-2 overtime victory over Winnipeg.

Strome has only been held off the scoresheet in one of four games since the Olympic break. With the Islanders' playoff hopes gone, the 20-year-old forward should get a healthy enough of playing time for the rest of the campaign.
Mar 5 - 9:47 AM

Ryan Strome had an assist in the Islanders' 5-4 overtime win on Thursday.

Strome was called up earlier this season, but recorded just four points in 15 games. He has the potential to do substantially better this time around as the Islanders look past this season.
Feb 28 - 10:43 AM

The New York Islanders have recalled center Ryan Strome from Bridgeport of the AHL.

Strome was one of three members of the AHL affiliate to be summoned by the Islanders, but he's definitely the one fantasy players are most interested in. He has recorded 49 points in 37 games with Bridgeport this season.
Feb 24 - 8:10 PM

The New York Islanders are expected to recall Ryan Strome from the minors before the NHL returns from its Olympic break.

The Islanders have lost John Tavares for the remainder of the season and Strome could take over as the number one center on the Island between Kyle Okposo and Thomas Vanek (at least until Vanek is dealt elsewhere. Strome had a goal and four points in 15 games with the Islanders in a previous call up but has been outstanding in his first full season in the AHL with 13 goals and 49 points in 37 games. He is worth picking up in deeper pools, especially in keeper leagues.
Feb 24 - 7:35 AM

The upcoming Olympic break might have influenced the New York Islanders' decision to demote Ryan Strome.

Players that participate in at least 16 of their final 20 games before the Olympics can not be sent to the minors for the duration of the break, regardless of whether or not they are subject to waivers. Presumably, this is to prevent teams from storing as many players in the AHL as possible to keep them fresh while veteran players who didn't make their respective Olympic squads are forced to wait. By sending Strome down now, the Islanders can potential recall him later and still have the flexibility of having him spend the break in the AHL.
Jan 16 - 9:57 AM

Ryan Strome has been returned to AHL Bridgeport.

Strome has a goal and four points in 15 games with the Islanders this season. He's got a tremendous amount of offensive upside and it wouldn't surprise us if he firmly established himself with the Islanders in 2014-15.
Jan 15 - 12:24 PM

Ryan Strome netted his first NHL goal in the Islanders' 7-3 win on Monday.

It was Strome's 11th career contest. He's got a ton of offensive upside, but he's averaging just 13:44 minutes so far. Unless you're in a keeper or a particularly deep league, we would recommend keeping an eye on Strome rather than picking him up at this time.
Jan 7 - 11:21 AM

Ryan Strome picked up the first NHL point of his career on Friday.

Strome set up Brian Strait's game tying goal in the second stanza as he also picked up his first penalty in the game. Strome has a lot of offensive upside and should be a waiver wire pickup in most deeper pools this week.
Sat, Dec 21, 2013 08:19:00 AM

Ryan Strome played 14:42 in his NHL debut, a 1-0 Islanders loss to the Canadiens in overtime Saturday night.

The Islanders, struggling mightily, are looking for a shot in the arm and summoned the gifted forward, who had nine goals and 33 points in the AHL prior to his recall. Strome had two shots on goal Saturday. It'll probably take some time for him to get his footing in the league, but Strome is an extremely talented player and will get time in an offensive role (3:43 on the power play). Eric Boulton had seven penalty minutes in the loss.
