Ryan Strome is optimistic about the Oilers' chances of bouncing back in a big way next season.
"Look at Winnipeg and Tampa Bay, they both missed the playoffs and now they’re a possible Stanley Cup final matchup," Strome said. "I’m not saying that’s us, but we have a good hockey team, we have a good thing going. It hasn’t been our year but we have a lot of good people in this organization who are going to be here for a long time. As much as it sucks and this year has been tough, you learn a lot about your team and who you are and the way people handle themselves in these situations." He's had a disappointing campaign with 13 goals and 33 points in 80 games, but at least now he's gotten used to being with the Oilers. There is some hope that he can breakout next season, though he's becoming a risky sleeper candidate at this point. Apr 4 - 4:46 AM

Ryan Strome registered an assist in a 4-3 overtime win against Arizona Monday night.

Strome has only been held off the scoresheet twice in his last nine games. That brings him up to 12 goals and 31 points in 66 contests this season. This is the most points he's recorded since 2014-2015, but we're hoping he does substantially better in the years to come.
Mar 6 - 5:28 AM

Ryan Strome registered an assist in a 4-2 loss to Nashville Thursday night.

That extended Strome's point streak to four games. This is his longest point streak of the campaign and it's led him to the 30-point milestone. Certainly, this isn't the showing they were hoping out of Strome in 2017-18, but perhaps he can at least finish on a strong note.
Mar 2 - 5:12 AM

Ryan Strome is on a three-game point streak.

Strome collected an assist in the Oilers' 5-2 loss to San Jose Tuesday night. He's also only been held off the scoresheet once in his last six games. He has 12 goals and 29 points in 63 contests this season.
Feb 28 - 9:51 AM

Ryan Strome notched two goals in the Oilers' wild 6-5 win over Anaheim on Sunday.

Strome now has five goals in his last five games. It's too little too late for his team, which is well out of the playoff race. Nonetheless, it's padding the stat line for the 24-year-old who has 12 goals and 28 points in 62 games played.
Feb 25 - 11:09 PM

Ryan Strome posted an unassisted goal in Tuesday's 3-2 loss against the visiting Bruins.

Strome gave the team a 2-0 lead and he added a blocked shot and a hit over 14:29 of ice time. He has lit the lamp in back-to-back games, including the game-winner at Colorado on Sunday. He posted a point in a season-high three straight games from Jan. 25 to Feb. 5, and that happened just once. Mostly, he has struggled at the offensive end and that makes him worth using only in deeper fantasy pools until the points come a little more regularly. The two-game goal streak is a nice start.
Feb 21 - 1:40 AM

Ryan Strome broke a 21 game goalless drought Sunday.

Well that has to feel good for the center who was seen slamming his stick at the bench earlier in the game when he was robbed in close by Semyon Varlamov. Strome's goal was the winner as the Oilers snapped a six game winless streak. Strome has eight goals and 23 points in a forgettable season.
Feb 19 - 7:23 AM

Ryan Strome picked up a pair of power-play assists in the first period of Monday's 6-2 win against the Lightning.

Strome and the Oilers superstars of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl set the tone early with a pair of first-period power-play goals, and the Oilers never relinquished the lead. Strome went scoreless in 11 consecutive outings from Dec. 29-Jan. 23, but he has pieced together a three-game point run with five assists to endear himself to fantasy owners again.
Feb 5 - 11:47 PM

Ryan Strome along with Milan Lucic have been promoted to the Oilers' first PP unit alongide Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Darnell Nurse.

Pat Maroon, Mark Letestu and Oscar Klefbom get demotions. We're not sure this will boost Strome's fantasy value as he has been relatively awful so far this season, but it couldn't hurt. Watch him.
Jan 20 - 1:43 PM

Ryan Strome registered an assist in the Oilers' 4-3 loss to Winnipeg Wednesday night.

That gives Strome four points in his last four games. It helps that he's been playing alongside Leon Draisaitl as Draisaitl has shared in three of Strome's last four points.

Ryan Strome scored a pair of goals on Monday night as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the San Jose Sharks 5-3.

Strome's two goals ups his season tally to six goals and 15 points in 34 games. The Oilers are happy to see him score as he hadn't put a puck in the net since November 26th, a span of nine games. He's never really been a stud fantasy-wise but he is worth owning in deep leagues.

Ryan Strome's fourth goal of the season was the game winner on Sunday.

Strome is off to a rocky start in Edmonton after he was dealt in the off-season for Jordan Eberle as he has 11 points in 24 games. He is currently playing with Leon Draisaitl so perhaps he can regain his fantasy value in the short-term.

Ryan Strome posted a goal with an assist, six shots on goal, a blocked shot and a hit in Tuesday's 5-3 loss against Carolina.

Strome was recently promoted to the second line, replacing Zack Kassian, and he rewarded coach Todd McLellan with an impressive performance. It's uncertain how long the newest Oiler will skate alongside Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Milan Lucic, but so far so good.

Ryan Strome has moved up the depth charts in practice as he replaced Zack Kassian on the second line.

He practiced alongside Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Milan Lucic. Strome was dealt from the Islanders in the off-season for Jordan Eberle and is off to a rough start this season with no points in four games with a minus-two rating. Hopefully this will help.
Mon, Oct 16, 2017 08:02:00 AM

Ryan Strome is projected to begin the season as Edmonton's third line center.

The Oilers experimented with using Strome on the top line, but at least for now it appears that won't be the case. Strome has a lot of potential, but it wasn't fully realized with the Islanders. The hope is that the change of scenery will do him some good, but he's unlikely to enjoy a big season if he remains on the third unit.
