Ryan Strome and Griffin Reinhart will join the Islanders in training camp.

Strome was the Islanders' first-round pick from the 2011 draft, while Reinhart was taken in the first round, fourth overall, of the 2012 draft. Strome has been a monster in the OHL with 62 points in 32 games. Reinhart has 14 points in 31 games in the WHL. Strome probably has the better chance of cracking the NHL lineup, as this could be a chance for Reinhart to get his feet wet and then return to the WHL.

Ryan Strome isn't sure where he'll be playing after the World Junior Championships, but he is excited to find out.

"The potential to go back home in two or three days here and really I don't know where I'm going to be, if I'm going to be in Niagara, if I'm going to be traded from Niagara, if I'm going to be in New York, it's kind of interesting and something I wasn't expecting," said the first-round pick, fifth overall, of the Islanders in the 2011 draft. Strome has earned four goals and two assists in five games during the tournament for Canada and he was leading the OHL in scoring with 62 points in just 32 games when he left. "It's definitely hard to sit on that for a full year and I don't think any of us wants to do that again. This is a great chance for us to turn things around and make up for what happened." The New York Islanders prospect should land a spot on Canada's roster because of his previous experience and how dominant he's been in the OHL this year. Strome was named the player of the month for November and he leads the league in scoring with 59 points in only 30 games.
