Joel Armia will probably spend Monday's game in the press box.

Armia played in the Jets' first two contests, but it's not surprising to see Winnipeg mix things up after they lost those games by considerable margins. He has no points and a minus-four rating in 2017-18.

The Winnipeg Jets have announced that Joel Armia will draw into the lineup for Brendan Lemieux tonight against the Flames.

It appears Armia will join Andrew Copp and Marko Dano while J.C. Lipon will be demoted to the 4th line. A former 16th overall pick, Armia netted a career high 10 goals and 19 points last season with the Jets. He's turned into a solid two-way forward with room for some offensive growth.

He did not practice Friday and should be considered day-to-day.
Sep 23 - 1:15 PM

Joel Armia helped spark Winnipeg's penalty kill on Tuesday night.

He scored his third shorthanded goal of the year in the contest. The Jets also killed off all four of the Devils' power plays in a 4-3 shootout win. "I've been trying to improve my PK a lot," said Armia. "When you play good defence, maybe you get the (scoring) chances sometimes. But it's not about scoring goals. It's about shutting their power play down." Unfortunately, that hasn't happened often as Winnipeg ranks 28th overall in the league on penalty kill this season.
Mar 30 - 11:20 AM

Joel Armia picked up a goal during Saturday's 3-1 over Montreal.

Feb 18 - 7:15 PM

Joel Armia scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild.

Armia did all of his damage in the middle period, as he helped set up Bryan Little's goal to cut the deficit to 3-1 and he really made things interesting when he scored to make it 3-2. Unfortunately for the Jets, that's as close as they would come to tying the game. Armia has four goals and five assists in 31 games this season. He isn't worth owning in any fantasy format.
Feb 7 - 11:51 PM

Joel Armia scored his first goal since Oct. 25th during Saturday's 4-3 loss to Buffalo.
