Jonas Brodin escaped injury when he was slashed in hte face with the shaft of Antoine Roussel's stick in Saturday night's 3-2 win over Dallas.
He did leave the ice to receive medical attention but returned to the bench and finished the game. Brodin should be OK for Tuesday's return game against the Stars. Might he be seeking retribtion? We shall see. Jan 19 - 1:35 PM

Jonas Brodin scored a goal in Minnesota's 3-1 loss to San Jose Thursday night.

Brodin ended Antti Niemi's shutout bid at 12:36 of the third period, banking a shot off Brad Stuart and past Niemi, but that was as close as the Wild go. Brodin now has six goals and five assists in 31 games this season. He has an outstanding 24.0 shooting percentage. Ryan Suter and Justin Fontaine assisted the lone goal for the Wild.

Jonas Brodin generated a goal and an assist in Wednesday's win over Ottawa.

It was the first multi-point outing of the sophomore defenseman's career. Brodin has been much more offensively inclined in 2013-14. He already has four goals and nine points in 20 games after he accounted for two markers and 11 points in 45 matches last year.

Jonas Brodin did just fine in his return to action after missing three games due to a broken cheekbone.

He wore a full plastic bubble shield but didn't seem bothered by it. Brodin had a game high 26:54 of ice time so he is obviously fine to activate.

The Wild decided to give Jonas Brodin another day off the ice to let swelling in his cheekbone area subside.

Brodin sustained a broken cheekbone Tuesday when he was hit in the face by a puck and will certainly not play Saturday or Monday of next week. He will wear a full cage in practices when he does return to the ice and will likely need the balance of next week to fully recover. Don't expect to see Brodin in game action until Friday at the earliest.

Coach Mike Yeo said that Jonas Brodin may skate Friday.

He suffered a broken cheekbone Tuesday when he was hit in the face by a shot, but Yeo stated that no surgery is planned to occur. If Brodin is on the ice Friday then he'll likely be sporting a full cage on his helmet.

Jonas Brodin was injured Tuesday night when he took a puck to his face early in the first period.

His night ended after just two shifts and 1:01 of ice time. Brodin got struck by a shot from Nashville's Gabriel Bourque at the 2:54 mark of the opening period. He was taken to a hospital for X-rays, but coach Mike Yeo didn't have an update on his condition after the game.

The sophomore defender, who was chosen 10th overall in the 2011 draft, has been an excellent defense partner for Ryan Suter. His offensive contributions have made him a much more attractive fantasy option this year.

He scored his second goal of the season, while also picking up four penalty minutes, two shots and a plus-2 rating during his 25:03 of ice time. The sophomore blueliner has three points in four games this year and he's averaging 25:36 of ice time per match.

Jonas Brodin scored a power play goal for Minnesota in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Kings.

Brodin emerged as a rookie last season and definitely has the talent to take an additional step forward in his sophomore campaign. Matt Cooke was also credited with a goal in the losing effort for Minnesota.
