The Blackhawks will decide by Monday whether they want to make a qualifying offer to RFA Tomas Jurco.

Jurco, who was acquired from the Red Wings for a third-round pick in February, was often a healthy scratch in The Windy City. He was unproductive in 2016-17 registering only one point in 29 games. The Hawks will have a similar decision to make on fellow RFA Dennis Rasmussen.

Tomas Jurco leads a trio to the press box against the Senators on Thursday.

He'll be joined by Michal Kempny and Michal Rozsival. Unfortunately, there isn't a lick of fantasy value between them.

Tomas Jurco will be a healthy scratch Sunday against the Wild.

He was not skating as a regular on a line during the morning skate and will sit in the press box.
Mar 12 - 12:05 PM

Tomas Jurco will face Detroit for the first time on Friday night.

The 24-year-old posted 15 goals and 39 points along with a 6.7% shooting percentage through 159 games during his time in Detroit. He's thus far pointless this season, including the 16 games he spent with Detroit and the five games now with Chicago since the trade.
Mar 10 - 6:30 PM

Tomas Jurco moved up to the third line on Thursday night.

He had been skating on the fourth line before heading back to a combination with Marian Hossa and Tanner Kero. "I think his last game [in Nashville] was his best game," coach Joel Quenneville said. "You like the progress, that's a good sign." Jurco has played five games with the Blackhawks since he was acquired from Detroit. He is still looking for his first point.
Mar 10 - 9:03 AM

Tomas Jurco will make his Blackhawk debut Sunday on a line with Marcus Kruger and Marian Hossa.

Playing with Hossa could be a very good thing for Jurco as the two players are both from Slovakia and play a similar game. Keep an eye on Jurco as he could have a bit of a resurgence with his new team.

Feb 26 - 11:35 AM

Tomas Jurco will make his Blackhawks debut on Sunday against the Blues.

He's still searching for his first points of the season through 16 games played, but if there's one Western squad that can lift your points total - it's Chicago.
Feb 25 - 1:56 PM

Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman believes a change of scenery could help Tomas Jurco blossom into a quality NHL player.

The Hawks landed Jurco from Detroit on Friday night and they're hoping they've found a diamond in the rough. "Tomas comes to us with a good offensive imagination, a very creative player," Bowman said. "He has good skills and good speed. We've seen it with other players before and even players in our system, sometimes they just don't work out for whatever reason and they need a different opportunity." Don't expect Jurco to have any kind of fantasy value this season.
Feb 25 - 10:52 AM

Tomas Jurco asked for a trade out of Detroit.

He got his wish on Friday afternoon, as he was shipped to the Chicago Blackhawks for a draft pick. Things simply didn't work out for him in Detroit, so it'll be interesting to see if he can pick up his game in Chicago. "Things haven't worked out here," Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said. "He and his agent let it be known he'd like to be elsewhere. He is restricted this summer and probably wouldn't have stayed, so we did the deal." Even though he's on a new team, don't expect him to become relevant in fantasy.
Feb 25 - 9:57 AM

Tomas Jurco has a chance for a fresh start with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The young veteran winger was traded from Detroit to Chicago for a 2017 third-round draft pick. The 24-year-old is pointless through 16 games this season. He has 15 goals and 39 points in 159 career NHL games.
Feb 24 - 5:38 PM

Tomas Jurco will be a healthy scratch in Tuesday's game against the New York Islanders.

More than one report has suggested that the Red Wings are trying to trade Jurco, but sitting him in the press box certainly won't increase his value. He has no points and a minus-8 rating in 16 games this season. Ryan Sproul will also sit for Detroit, while Gustav Nyquist continues to serve his suspension.

Tomas Jurco will be scratched against the Capitals on Saturday.

Through 16 games Jurco is still searching for his first points of the season, and should be left on the waivers until he puts together a couple good weeks of play.

Joining Jurco in the press box will be defenseman Ryan Sproul. Jurco has only appeared in 16 pointless games in 2016-17. Tonight's game will mark his third straight scratch. Sproul has seven points (1-6-7) in 22 games played, but has dressed only once in the past 15 games.
