Joe Morrow believes that bouncing from the AHL and the NHL helped the mental part of his game.
"When you’re up here [in Boston] and you’re down there [in Providence] it’s a lot of fun, but one day it’s one thing, and then another it’s something else," said Morrow. "It’s a big mental experience for me to be able to prepare myself for situations like this. It’s been fun, and I think it’ll make me a stronger person in the end dealing with all of this stuff." The 22-year-old had three goals and 12 points in 33 games in the AHL and one goal in 15 games in the NHL. He has a real shot at sticking with Boston in 2015-16. Aug 29 - 9:04 AM

Joe Morrow will be held out as a healthy scratch for Wednesday’s game versus the Capitals.

The Bruins will go with Matt Bartkowski and Zach Trotman as the third pair of defense for Wednesday’s game, which means Morrow will be held out of the lineup. The youngster was just called up Monday as insurance in case Zdeno Chara or Dennis Seidenberg couldn’t play, but that’s not the case. Morrow has played in only 15 games this year, picking up one goal.

Joe Morrow has been called up by the Bruins on an emergency basis.

Zdeno Chara was not on the ice for Monday's practice, but his status is unclear at this time. The Bruins don't play until Wednesday night at Washington.
Apr 6 - 11:34 AM

Joe Morrow has been returned to the minors.

Morrow was summoned on an emergency basis because Torey Krug's availability for Thursday's game was initially in question. Krug played on Thursday, so Morrow's demotion is not surprising.
Apr 3 - 2:02 PM

Joe Morrow has been summoned on an emergency basis.

Morrow's recall is likely a response to whatever caused Torey Krug to miss Thursday's practice. Morrow has three goals and eight points in 27 AHL contests in 2014-15. He also has a goal in 15 games with Boston.
Apr 2 - 12:07 PM

The Boston Bruins have assigned Joe Morrow to the minors.

The 22-year-old has one goal and a plus-3 rating in 15 games this season. He should get another crack with the Bruins fairly soon.

Joe Morrow, Matt Fraser, and Zach Trotman will all be healthy scratches against in Winnipeg on Friday night.

While each young player has potential to be an NHL-regular, only Fraser has much fantasy value at this time. With 38 PIMs over his 21 games, he's worth keeping an eye on for spot-starts against other pugilistic teams.

Defensemen Joe Morrow and Matt Bartkowski will both be healthy scratches Wednesday versus the Wild.

Morrow hasn’t been on the ice for B’s since December 6th against Arizona and will continue to give way to fellow youngster, Zach Trotman in Wednesday’s game against the Wild. Morrow only has one goal in 15 games played this year. Matt Bartkowski hasn’t seen game action for the Bruins since December 4th against the Sharks and also has three assists in 14 games played on the year.

Joe Morrow will replace Matt Bartkowski as Dennis Seidenberg's left-side partner Tuesday night in Nashville.

Through 15 games with the Bruins, Morrow has one goal and point, four PIMs, 18 hits, 20 shots on goal, and 22 blocks. The 22 year old defender showed he had an offensive flare last season in AHL Providence with 29 points in 56 games, but it hasn't materialized in the NHL just yet.

Joe Morrow doesn't have a point in three games with the Boston Bruins, but he feels his offensive game will come around.

"I've kind of always been known as a more flashy, offensive player, more risky, I don't know, a kind of all-over-the-place kind of guy," Morrow said. "But I've learned pretty quick that even if I tried it up here, it wouldn't fly and it wouldn't be good. It wouldn't be good for anybody, especially myself. I feel comfortable with the way I'm playing and I think I'll just stay like that for now." Morrow has racked up eight shots and he's posted a plus-2 rating thus far. He's been averaging 17:29 of ice time per contest, but he hasn't seen any power-play time.

Defenceman Joe Morrow made his NHL debut against the Sabres Thursday night and aquitted himself quite well.

In 17:51 minutes of playing time Morrow took four shots on goal and was plus one. Bruins' coach Claude Julien was certainly impressed. "I thought (Morrow) moved the puck well. He doesn't seem to be rattled by anything," Julien said. "For a guy who played in his first NHL game, the last thing he looked was nervous. He was so calm, made good plays. Yea, he made a few mistakes like everybody else during the period of a game, but I thought he handled himself well." Look for Morrow to dress for Saturday's game against Ottawa. Morrow has some offensive upside as he was a scoring star with Portland of the WHL and registered 29 points in 56 games in the AHL last season. See if he gets some PP time with Zdeno Chara and Torey Krug out of the lineup.

The Boston Bruins have called up Joe Morrow.

Morrow has a goal and an assist in five AHL games this season. He has some offensive upside, but we think it will take at least a couple more years of development before he's worth owning in standard leagues.
