Updating an earlier item, it was thought that Joe Morrow may draw back into the lineup on Saturday but he was scratched against the Maple Leafs.
It's been a tough season for Morrow, who's seen just nine games with little to show for his efforts. The kid may hold boat loads of talent, but we'd wait until he begins to blossom a bit more before paying attention. Nov 21 - 8:04 PM

It looks like Joe Morrow might draw into the Bruins' lineup on Saturday.

Morrow has spent six straight games in the press box. However, if he does play it looks like it would be as a fourth line forward rather than a defenseman. "No memory of it at all," Morrow said, when asked if he's played as a forward before. "But growing up, my defensive game was kind of like playing forward, so it wasn’t too far from what I know."

Joe Morrow (illness) has been activated off of the injured reserve.

Joe Morrow (illness) took to the ice Tuesday.

"That's the worst I've ever had it," said Morrow, who isn't sure if his flu-like symptoms was the flu, food poisoning or some other illness. "I don't usually get sick. Growing up on a farm, you eat dirt for fun, so you never get sick, but that was pretty bad. I pray that never happens to anybody." He lost nearly 10 pounds in just a week, so it will probably take some time for him to regain his strength and get his energy level back up.
Oct 21 - 10:04 AM

Joe Morrow, who has flu-like symptoms has been placed on the injured reserve list.

It's certainly not common for a player to be placed on the IR list after missing a practice with an illness, but because of Boston's relatively light upcoming schedule, this only rules him out for two games. He has no points and a minus-three rating in three contests in 2015-16.
Oct 13 - 4:37 PM

Joe Morrow missed Tuesday's practice because of flu-like symptoms.

The Boston Bruins weren't immediately sure if they would summon another defenseman. The Bruins don't play until Wednesday, so the matter isn't urgent. Morrow has no points and a minus-three rating in three games this season.
Oct 13 - 1:16 PM

Joe Morrow knows he is close to getting to play in the NHL, but he also understands that patience is required.

"Being 22 years old, it's still pretty new to me and still a pretty big dream to play in the National Hockey League, so if I can accomplish that at any time in the near future it'll be a success for me," Morrow said. "I'm a pretty patient human being, and it works to a certain extent. But you have to put a little extra effort in because you are getting a little anxious and a little closer to your goal. So, yeah, I guess you could say that patience is running thin. At the same time, you have to keep a level head and just do what you're supposed to do." Boston has seven defensemen on one-way deals, but coach Claude Julien is considering taking eight into the regular season. Morrow will get a chance to claim a top-six spot during training camp.
Sep 21 - 10:22 AM

Joe Morrow believes that bouncing from the AHL and the NHL helped the mental part of his game.

"When you’re up here [in Boston] and you’re down there [in Providence] it’s a lot of fun, but one day it’s one thing, and then another it’s something else," said Morrow. "It’s a big mental experience for me to be able to prepare myself for situations like this. It’s been fun, and I think it’ll make me a stronger person in the end dealing with all of this stuff." The 22-year-old had three goals and 12 points in 33 games in the AHL and one goal in 15 games in the NHL. He has a real shot at sticking with Boston in 2015-16.
Aug 29 - 9:04 AM

Joe Morrow will be held out as a healthy scratch for Wednesday’s game versus the Capitals.

The Bruins will go with Matt Bartkowski and Zach Trotman as the third pair of defense for Wednesday’s game, which means Morrow will be held out of the lineup. The youngster was just called up Monday as insurance in case Zdeno Chara or Dennis Seidenberg couldn’t play, but that’s not the case. Morrow has played in only 15 games this year, picking up one goal.
Apr 8 - 7:51 PM

Apr 6 - 11:34 AM

Morrow was summoned on an emergency basis because Torey Krug's availability for Thursday's game was initially in question. Krug played on Thursday, so Morrow's demotion is not surprising.
