Joe Morrow has been a frequent healthy scratch this season, but he has played in each of Boston's last three contests.

"He's played three good games with us, so I'm happy with that," coach Claude Julien said. "There [had been] a drop in his play, the consistency, but we've addressed that, and to me he's had three pretty strong games. That's the encouraging part of a young player getting better for us." Morrow picked up his first point, with an assist, in Saturday's 4-1 win over Winnipeg.

Joe Morrow and Tim Schaller will each be scratched for Thursday's opener against Columbus.

Though still both young players with less than 50 games of NHL experience each, neither Morrow nor Schaller has shown they produce even for fantasy purposes. So feel free to pass them by until further notice.

Joe Morrow is hopeful that he will play on a more consistent basis in 2016-17.

He was limited to 33 appearances last season and sat frequently as a healthy scratch. "This year I look forward to stepping up into a more consistent role, and that pretty much isn't up to anybody but me. I look forward to it," he said. "It's always to have a little more pressure on you. You tend to play a little better, at least from my perspective in the past playing junior in playoff situations. I've always kind of stepped my game up, so I kind of view it as [that situation]. I aim to not disappointment anyone. I'm looking forward to that." Morrow and Colin Miller are expected to get plenty of opportunities to establish themselves as regulars in the lineup.
