Vladislav Namestnikov has had an interesting hockey background.
He was born in Russia but moved to North America at the age of eight months as his dad tried to make it as an NHLer. He played 43 games with Vancouver and the Islanders but returned to Russia when Vladislav was nine. Vladislav also had a couple of uncles in the NHL including Slava Kozlov and Ivan Novoseltsev. With all that hockey around him, it was his mom who pushed him into the game. Namestnikov was a first round pick of the Lightning in 2011 and was dealt a week ago to the Rangers. He has 21 goals and 46 points in 65 games this season. Mar 5 - 7:02 AM

Vladimir Namestnikov picked up a goal with an assist and a plus-1 rating in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime win at Vancouver.

Namestnikov posted two points in his team debut after a blockbuster trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning earlier this week. With Rick Nash shuttled out of town, the Rangers will likely heavily upon the forward, who is set to be a restricted free agent heading into the offseason. He'll have a much better chance to shine in New York with less talent around him than he had with a huge supporting cast in Tampa.

The New York Rangers acquired Vladislav Namestnikov from the Tampa Bay Lightning.

This was the biggest trade of deadline day, as the Lightning got Ryan McDonagh and J.T. Miller from the Rangers for Namestnikov, Brett Howden, Libor Hajek, a first-rounder in 2018 and a conditional second-rounder, per TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzie. Namestnikov is having his best season as an NHLer with 20 goals and 44 points in 62 games so far in 2017-18. The 25-year-old has plenty of offensive ability and he'll now be relied upon to be one of the key weapons in New York. The Rangers have really embraced their rebuild.

Vladislav Namestnikov notched a goal and an assist in Thursday's 4-3 win over Ottawa.

Namestnikov has 20 goals in a season for the first time at the NHL level. He has also reached career-highs in 2017-18 with 24 assists and 44 points in 61 contests.
Feb 23 - 10:44 AM

Vladislav Namestnikov scored two goals in a 5-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Namestnikov, Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos combined beautifully late in the third period to contribute two goals to Tampa's cause and put the game out of reach for the Flyers. Namestnikov is now up to 18 goals and 39 points in 49 games this season, putting him in the conversation for breakout fantasy player of the season. Brayden Point, Yanni Gourde and Ryan Callahan also scored in the win.
Jan 25 - 9:46 PM

Vladislav Namestnikov tallied a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 OT win over Nashville.

Namestnikov's 16th goal of the season ended a 13-game goalless drought. It's been a rough January for the 25-year-old forward. He didn't have a point in eight of nine matches going into Tuesday's contest. However, it's already been a career year for Namestnikov, who has 37 points through 48 games.
Jan 24 - 10:17 AM

Vladislav Namestnikov is currently on a 10-game goalless drought.

Namestnikov hasn't scored a goal since Dec. 21. He also has just two assists in his last six contests (both helpers came in the same game). The Lightning forward should get back on track relatively soon. He has 15 goals and 35 points in 44 games this season.
Jan 13 - 10:22 AM

Vladislav Namestnikov netted his 15th goal of the year on Thursday night.

That's a new career high for goals in a season already for the 25-year-old forward. Namestnikov has amassed 30 points in 34 games. He is just five points from matching his previous personal best set over 80 appearances in 2015-16.

Vladislav Namestnikov recorded one goal and two assists in Thursday's 5-2 win over Colorado.

Namestnikov had one goal and one assist in five games going into Thursday's contest. The 25-year-old is already close to reaching personal bests in goals, assists and points this year and it's only been 28 games. Namestnikov is up to 12 goals and 27 points.

Vladislav Namestnikov found the back of the net in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

Namestnikov opened the scoring with a power play goal at the 1:22 mark of the first period, but it was the only offense the Lightning could muster in this one. He's now accumulated 11 points in his last 10 games. He's up to 10 goals and 22 points in 22 contests in 2017-18.

Vladislav Namestnikov continued to roll in California with a goal in Tampa Bay's 2-1 victory over Anaheim on Sunday night.

Namestnikov had three goals and five points during the Bolts' three-game California trip. The 24-year-old has nine goals and 19 points in 18 games this season.

Vladislav Namestnikov scored a pair of goals while adding an assist and a plus-2 rating with three blocked shots and a hit in Wednesday's 5-1 victory in San Jose.

Namestnikov has had the good fortune of skating on a line with Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos, elevating his game to new heights. He struck for a third-period goal on the power play, and he has posted three goals with three assists on the man advantage this season. As long as he is a top-line forward the sky's the limit as far as his fantasy value is concerned.

Vladislav Namestnikov registered two points in Monday's 8-5 win against the Florida Panthers.

Namestnikov generated one goal and one assist in the contest to give him 13 points in 13 games this season. The 24-year-old forward has taken full advantage of scorching hot starts to the year by Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov.

Vladislav Namestnikov was back with Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov in Thursday's preseason loss to Florida.

Namestnikov scored a goal in the 5-2 defeat. He played with Stamkos and Kucherov at the beginning of the 2016-17 campaign and could start there again this season. However, you shouldn't big numbers offensively from him. Namestnikov could be worth picking up if he heats up as a top-line forward, but his past issues with consistency could make his stay on your roster brief.

Don't be shocked if you find Vladislav Namestnikov on Tampa's top line once the season starts.

He had good chemistry with Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov at the beginning of last season and started this season's training camp playing alongside the Bolts' two superstars. If Namestnikov can stick on this line, he wil surely better his 28-point total of 2016-17 and could be a nice sleeper pick this campaign.
