Dec 15 - 5:20 PM

Vladislav Namestnikov has been sent to AHL Syracuse.

Namestnikov has some offensive upside, but he's been averaging just 11:50 minutes per game in Tampa Bay. The 22-year-old will have far more responsibility in the minors and that might help with his development.
Dec 3 - 6:21 PM

Vladislav Namestnikov, J.T. Brown, and Mark Barberio all healthy scratches Monday night.

The Lightning will go with the same line up from Saturday, which led them to a 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators, which means Namestnikov, Brown, and Barberio will all be watching from the press box. Brown and Barberio will have a hard time cracking the Lightning lineup in the future, but Namestnikov should get some chances going forward.

Dec 1 - 5:57 PM

Vladislav Namestnikov will take a seat on Saturday night against Minnesota.

Perhaps not the ideal way to spend your 22nd birthday as a professional athlete, but then again Assistant Coach Rick Bowness spoke of needing "fresh legs" for Tampa's ninth game in 15 days. Namestnikov has seven points in 21 games on the season, and will be joined by JT Brown and Eric Brewer in the stands as healthy scratches.

Nov 22 - 6:28 PM

Vladislav Namestnikov has impressed coach Jon Cooper with his progression in 2014-15.

"Just watching Vladdy grow from training camp to now, he's a different player," said the Tampa Bay bench boss. "The game has slowed down for him. He knows he has more time than he used to think he had. Now, when those guys get that ability to say, 'Hey, I actually can make this play,' they kind of play the game now to have success instead of not to screw up. And that's a big part of the mindset. And Vladdy is doing that right now, and I can't say enough about the way that kid is playing." Namestnikov has generated three goals and seven points in 20 games this season, while earning time on the Lightning's penalty kill. The 21-year-old forward is quickly becoming a good depth player on Tampa.
Nov 20 - 9:55 AM

Vladislav Namestnikov collected his first NHL points Monday night.

He earned an assist on goal by Victor Hedman in the first period and then he scored a garbage time goal in the third that capped Tampa Bay's 7-1 win. Namestnikov earned his roster spot with the Lightning out of training camp after he played four games with the big club last season.
Oct 14 - 8:49 AM

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been impressed with forward Vladislav Namestnikov this preseason.

Namestnikov was the Lightning’s first round pick in 2011, and has spent most of the last two seasons with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL. The 21-year-old did play four games with Tampa Bay last season but he didn’t register a point. "Guys develop at different rates, and I think he’s right on course," said Lightning head coach Jon Cooper. "We knew he was going to get (to the NHL), but he’s really opened some eyes in the first four preseason games. Namestnikov has registered seven assists in four games this preseason and definitely has a chance to stick with the Lightning this season.
Oct 4 - 8:59 AM

Vladislav Namestnikov feels he improved as the 2013-14 season progressed.

"The biggest thing I improved is defense," he said. "It's a big part of the pro game. Other part is I got a little stronger and more confident. That was probably the biggest difference." Namestnikov registered 19 goals and 48 points in 56 games with Syracuse of the AHL last year. He didn't pick up a point in four appearances with the Lightning and he's eager to make a positive impression at training camp. He isn't likely to earn a roster spot, but could be one of the first call ups should injuries strike.
