Lessio has posted 10 goals and 21 points in 42 games with Springfield and St. John's of the AHL. While Ellis has posted an even more exciting 12 goals and 31 points in 56 games for St. John's from the blue line.

Fresh off a three-game return to action following the injury layoff, the former Coyote failed to earn a point averaging 9:43 in ice time. The result is Lessio will step out of the lineup as a healthy scratch to make room for the returning Dale Weise.

The Arizona Coyotes have assigned Lucas Lessio to the minors.

Also heading to Springfield are: Craig Cunningham, Tyler Gaudet, Marek Langhamer, Dakota Mermis, Brendan Shinnimin and Niklas Treutle. The Coyotes also returned Christian Dvorak and Brendan Perlini to their respective junior teams.
