Despite being scratched for Saturday's game, Maple Leafs' head coach Randy Carlyle says he isn't disappointed with rookie defenseman Stuart Percy.
"He did not have the strongest night (on Friday) and he had a banged-up injury so we thought it would be a night for him to take off," Carlyle said. "By no means are we disappointed in what he has brought to the table." The 21-year-old has three points in five games this season. Oct 19 - 11:26 AM

The Toronto Maple Leafs made defenseman Stuart Percy a healthy scratch on Saturday.

He's making way for Stephane Robidas as the Maple Leafs face off against the Detroit Red Wings once more. Percy's had a nice showing early on, but perhaps a night in the press box will keep him motivated.
Oct 18 - 6:52 PM

Stuart Percy is the first defenseman in the Maple Leafs' history to start his career with a three-game point streak.

Percy has recorded an assist in each of the Leafs' contests so far this season. His strong play has forced the Leafs to make adjustments and doubtlessly played a role in the decision to scratch Jake Gardiner on Sunday. Percy isn't a bad guy to take a chance on if he's a free agent in your standard league, but as is the case with any rookie, he's also a significant gamble.
Oct 14 - 2:44 PM

Stuart Percy dressed in his first NHL game Wednesday night.

He registered an assist on the power play and logged 20:21 of ice time in a solid debut, but felt he let his team down when the game-winning goal banked off his skate. However, his teammates were quick to praise his performance. "I told him it's a bad bounce," said captain Dion Phaneuf. "He has nothing to hang his head over. A shot from the corner hits his skate, that's bad luck. He plays well above his age, the way he moves the puck out of our zone, the patience that he has. He's a really good player for a young guy coming into the league."
Oct 9 - 12:36 PM

Stuart Percy has been sent to the minors by Toronto.

At least for now. Although Toronto had to present a cap compliant 23-man roster Tuesday, they might still recall Percy on Wednesday.
Oct 7 - 4:00 PM

Stuart Percy is still with the Leafs and it looks like he'll get a chance to make his NHL debut on Wednesday.

Cody Franson is dealing with an injured knee, which will probably sideline him for the start of the year. Percy skated with Roman Polak at practice on Monday and he's excited to be close to getting his first taste of NHL regular season action.
Oct 7 - 8:59 AM

According to Maple Leafs’ general manager Dave Nonis, rookie defenseman Stuart Percy is a serious candidate to make the team out of training camp.

"Stuart Percy has put himself in a very good position whether he’s ready right now or not," said Nonis. "He’s clearly been one of our top six or seven defensemen over the course of camp. He looks more and more comfortable." The 21-year-old was the Leafs’ first round pick in 2011. He registered four goals and 25 points with the Toronto Marlies last season.

Stuart Percy posted a goal and three assists in three games during Toronto's prospects tournament.

"Stuart really took his game to another level," Leafs GM Dave Nonis said. "He played well with the puck, but more importantly, he played well in his own end." Percy, who was the 25th overall pick in the 2011 draft, will probably begin his professional career in the AHL this season.

Stuart Percy scored one of Mississauga's two goals in a 5-2 loss to Brampton on Monday.

The captain of the Steelheads has nine markers and 23 points in 36 games this season. Nick Paul led the charge in the match for the Battalion with three goals.

Stuart Percy continued his strong start to the season with a goal and an assist in Mississauga's 4-1 triumph over Peterborough on Friday night.

The 19-year-old defenseman was taken 25th overall in the 2011 draft by the Leafs. After putting up 25 points in 34 games last year, he has 10 in 15 games in this campaign. He's been a solid point-producer in his OHL career, but scouts don't rave about that aspect of his game, they laud his calmness on the ice and how advanced he is for his age.

Stuart Percy had a goal and an assist in Mississauga's 7-1 win over Belleville on Wednesday night.

The Leafs' first-round pick from the 2011 draft has six points in 12 games this season. He had 25 in 34 contests last year.

Toronto draft pick Stuart Percy scored in Mississauga's 5-3 victory over Sarnia on Thursday.

The Steelheads captain has five points and a plus-2 rating in 10 OHL matches this campaign.
Thu, Oct 18, 2012 09:35:00 PM

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Stuart Percy to a three-year entry level contract.

Percy was the Maple Leafs second pick in the first round at the 2011 Entry Draft, 25th overall. The defenseman has three goals and 17 points in 18 games thus far for the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors of the OHL after a four goal 34 point season with a plus-50 rating in 64 games last year. The defenseman is still a few years away from joining the Leafs blueline. He has some offensive capabilities but lacks a big shot from the point so his fantasy value could be limited at best when he finally arrives.

The Maple Leafs selected defenseman Stuart Percy with the 25th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Percy is a very smart defenseman who plays an exceptional positional game. He has some offensive capabilities but lacks a big shot from the point. He has good size and reach and although he is not overly physical, he is effective in separating opponents from the puck. Percy's greatest strength is that he is a maintenance and mistake free rearguard. Those are hard to come by.
