Leivo has been a healthy scratch for most of the year and he has three points in 12 appearances. "As far as Leivs goes, he hasn't got a lot of opportunity to play, but I'd talk to Lou if I was you about that" coach Mike Babcock said. "I know nothing." Leivo has 10 goals and 21 points in 53 games over the last five seasons.

Josh Leivo will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday night when the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Calgary Flames.

Leivo has played in only six games so far this season with the Leafs, recording a goal and an assist. He is a depth player for Toronto so he holds no fantasy value. Joining him in the press box will be fellow forward Nikita Soshnikov and defenseman Connor Carrick.

Josh Leivo has inked a one-year, $925,000 contract extension with the Maple Leafs.

Leivo has an assist in five games with Toronto this season. He's fine when he gets to play, but he's been stuck in a depth role with the Maple Leafs and that might not change.

Josh Leivo may get another opportunity to play Wednesday night.

Leivo skated alongside Nazem Kadri and Leo Komarov during Tuesday's practice. They were a successful trio last year. Leivo earned an assist and logged 14:56 of ice time against Philadelphia last Saturday in his season debut. He has produced 11 points in his last 14 appearances with the Leafs, but sits often as a scratch.

Josh Leivo drew into the Maple Leafs' lineup on Saturday.

It was Leivo's first game of the 2017-18 campaign. He registered an assist and had a plus-one rating in 14:56 minutes of ice time. He probably wouldn't have been included in the lineup if James van Riemsdyk (undisclosed) was available. As things stand, Leivo should be regarded as a depth forward with the Maple Leafs who will likely be used sparingly.
