Craig Smith tallied a goal for the Predators in their 3-0 win against the Sabres on Saturday night.

Smith now has 23 goals, one off his career high set last season. With 41 points, though, he likely will fall short of surpassing the 52 points from 2013-14. Smith also had four penalty minutes and four shots on goal in 17:29. Mike Fisher and Taylor Beck got the other goals.

The Nashville Predators ended an 0-for-18 slump on the power play on Saturday night.

The Predators defeated the Kings 2-1 and Craig Smith's game-tying goal was scored while Nashville was on the man-advantage. It was great to get that," Smith said. "Sometimes it's looked like we've been struggling, but we've been working and trying to make things better every game. Hopefully now we can ride the wave a little bit and stay positive." The Predators currently have the 25th best power play in the NHL at 16.2 percent.
Mar 15 - 10:57 AM

Craig Smith netted a goal for the Predators in their 2-1 win over the Kings on Saturday night.

The Predators entered the third period down 1-0. Smith scored on the power play at 6:37, then Viktor Stalberg — off of a deflection from Jake Muzzin’s stick — scored on the next shot 1:06 later. With 22 goals, Smith has a good chance of shattering his career-best mark of 24 from last season. The 52 points might be a little tougher; he has 40. Stalberg’s goal was his first of the season. Seth Jones, Ryan Ellis, Matt Cullen and Roman Josi tallied the assists.
Mar 15 - 1:09 AM

Craig Smith tallied his 20th goal in Thursday's loss to Minnesota.

Smith has been red hot of late with six goals and eight points in his last seven outings. There's a good chance he'll surpass the 24 goals he scored last season, but he's unlikely to reach the 50-point mark like he did in 2013-14.
Feb 27 - 11:42 AM

Nashville Predators forward Craig Smith extended his point streak to four games, but the Philadelphia Flyers ended up winning Saturday's game 3-2 (SO).

Smith scored his 18th goal and 33rd point of 2014-15 this afternoon. He now has four goals and two assists for six points during this run of four contests.
Feb 21 - 4:03 PM

Craig Smith registered a pair of goals Tuesday as the Predators upended San Jose by a score of 5-1.

Smith has now scored 17 goals for the season, making him a virtual lock for his second straight 20-goal campaign provided he can remain healthy. Shea Weber, James Neal and Paul Gaustad also scored for Nashville in the win.
Feb 17 - 11:48 PM

Craig Smith had two points in the Predators’ 3-1 win over the Devils on Saturday night.

Smith scored in the third period and assisted on Matt Cullen’s first-period goal. These were Smith’s first points since Jan. 29, which consisted of nine games. While there is some ability here, Smith is not yet worth owning in fantasy leagues as he has just 15 goals and 29 points. Cullen also picked up a helper. Colin Wilson scored the other goal and had seven shots on net.
Feb 14 - 10:52 PM

Craig Smith was the overtime hero for Nashville on Tuesday as the Predators topped the Avalanche by a score of 4-3.

The goal is the 14th of the season for Smith, who recorded four shots on goal and added a plus-2 rating in the victory. Filip Forsberg, Colin Wilson and Roman Josi all scored for Nashville in the win while Mike Ribeiro handed out three assists.
Jan 28 - 1:14 AM

Craig Smith could stick on the top line even though James Neal is back from his illness.

"I think we constantly look at things. With James sick, it was an easy move for us," coach Peter Laviolette said of Smith. "Certainly he looks good up there. He's got a lot of confidence right now, and he's getting his stick on the puck in scoring areas. That's good to see that he's able to contribute like that." He has registered three goals and one assist in his past two games, while skating alongside Mike Ribeiro and Filip Forsberg.

Victor Bartley had a two-assist night and now has five. The Preds' other goals were scored by Seth Jones, his first of the season, and Mike Fisher, his third. The Preds coasted in this one, opening up a 5-0 lead in the third period. They scored three goals in a 2:14 span in the third.

Craig Smith is scoring goals in bunches at the moment.

He has scored three goals in his last two games and has been dangerous on the ice skating on a line with Matt Cullen and Derek Roy. If Smith is a free agent in your pool you may consider picking him up while he is hot.

Smith opened the scoring in the second period, and also scored Nashville’s fourth goal. Smith now has three goals and five points in nine games this season. Expectations will be high in the coming season for forward Craig Smith of the Nashville Predators.

Smith is one of the fastest skaters in the NHL and scouts throughout the league have expected high numbers from him in the past couple of years. Last season, he was solid with 24 goals for the Preds and 52 points in 79 games. In the coming season, though, his statistics could get a jolt with new head coach Peter Laviolette, who is promising to implement a fast-paced, wide-open offensive system. "He's a pretty high-octane, high-powered offensive coach," Smith said. "He wants to outscore the other team versus trying to win 1-0, so I like that type of run-and-gun style."
