Scott Harrington is expected to take Christian Ehrhoff's slot Friday night against the Devils as the veteran defender is tested for a concucssion.

Harrington will likely play along side Robert Bortuzzo as Pittsburgh's second defensive unit. As talented as Harrington is, his talents have yet to translate over to fantasy success. He has no points through nine games with just four penalty minutes, nine shots, 10 blocks, and 11 hits.

The 21-year-old defenseman has yet to score a point at the NHL level in nine games this season. He skated in three of the Pens’ last four games but with Kris Letang healthy again, Harrington will have a hard time getting back on the ice.

The Penguins made the move following their game against Chicago on Wednesday. Pittsburgh wants Harrington to be able to continue to play during the NHL All-Star break.

Scott Harrington will skate with Christian Ehrhoff to form their second defensive pairing against the New York Islanders on Friday night.

Harrington, just 21 years old, has 30 points in 99 AHL games and isn't known for his offense. This could mean the Pens want Ehrhoff (13 points in 37 games) to rediscover his scoring touch as Harrington locks down the homestead. Either way, much is expected of his duo in an effort to reclaim the Metro division.
