Jean-Gabriel Pageau picked up the short-handed empty-net dagger in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.

Pageau did well guarding his own blue line, causing a turn over and sending it into the yawning cage. It's the fifth shorty of the season for him, and seventh in his career. Mighty impressive, though he only has 11 goals now on the year.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored the only goal for the Senators in their 3-1 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night.

Don’t get too excited just yet for Pageau, who has eight goals and 11 points in 30 games. There might be some fantasy value in the future, but there isn’t any right now. Alex Chiasson and David Dziurzynski had assists.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau tallied a shorthanded goal in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win

He has recorded two of his four goals this season while on the penalty kill and both of them were scored against the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs will have to start watching out for Pageau when they have the power play.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored a goal in Ottawa's 3-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

It's the first time the two teams play each other in a meaningful game since last spring's Stanley Cup playoffs. Pageau's goal was scored shorthanded, as he picked up the puck in his own end and snuck one by goalie Mike Condon. The 22-year-old tends to play his best games against the Montreal Canadiens, but his fantasy upside is limited over 82 games.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau has agreed to a two-year deal worth $1.8 million.

He didn't make his season debut with Ottawa until Dec. 17, but down the stretch he became a valuable member of the team's third line. The 22-year-old forward posted 10 goals and 19 points in 50 games last campaign.

Ottawa coach Dave Cameron is expecting Jean-Gabriel Pageau to play in Game 6 Sunday evening.

He blocked a P.K. Subban slapshot during a Montreal powerplay and hobbled off the ice Friday night but there is a very good chance he will lace them up against the Habs for Sunday's crucial match.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau is considered "day-to-day" with an undisclosed injury after blocking a PK Subban shot while on the penalty kill Friday night during Game Five's 5-1 victory.

"They're only going to get harder as the series goes on, so I wish him the best of luck," Subban said of Pageau. The rookie forward put forth a quality effort during his 14:32 of playing, along with his shot block he contributed three pucks to the net, threw five hits, and won nearly half his draws. Plus he played 2:03 on the kill, which is very impressive to say the least. It's unclear how severely Pageau is hurt, but he wouldn't be the first player to gut out a severe injury during the playoffs.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau likes playing against Montreal.

"I have a lot of friends and family that are Habs fans and were born Habs fans and I totally respect them, but I try to give everything," said Pageau. He potted a hat trick in Game 3 versus the Canadiens back in the 2013 playoffs and added a pair of assists in Ottawa's five-game series victory. Pageau also produced two goals and two assists in four games against Montreal this year.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau is just fine after sustaining a knee-on-knee hit from Steven Stamkos Thursday night.

It looked bad for a few minutes as Pageau hobbled off the ice to the dressing room. Thankfully, he was not seriously injured and returned to finish the game. There was no penalty assessed against Stamkos on the play but that doesn't mean that the NHL won't take a look at the infraction.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored a goal in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Florida.

There's one more game to play in March, but it's been a productive month for Pageau, who has four goals and four assists in 15 games.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored a goal in Monday's 5-2 win over San Jose.

He registered a team-leading seven shots in the match. Pageau's linemate, Erik Condra, didn't have a point in the win, but he accounted for six shots on goal. Ottawa's third line has provided plenty of energy during the team's late-season run and they have contributed offensively as well. Pageau has three goals and three assists in his last eight contests.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored his fourth goal of the season when he batted a rebound past Ray Emery, giving the Senators a 1-0 lead early on in the second period. The Senators would go on to win 2-1 in a shootout.

Pageau's goal was a beautiful display of awareness, quickness, and hand-eye coordination. And also it gave the Sens control of the game. The young forward now has 11 points through 36 games this season. He's totaled eight goals and 17 points in 73 career NHL games.
