"Like I always say, I'm day-to-day and I don't even know what's going to happen tomorrow," said Pageau. He is getting more confident with his game even though he understands he could be sent back down. Jean-Gabriel Pageau doesn't see himself as a bubble player to make Ottawa's lineup in 2014-15.

"For sure I see myself in the lineup," Pageau said Thursday. "I always believe in myself and I'll always believe in myself. But I know it's going to be hard. That's basically why I'm giving a little extra every morning ... just work hard and give everything I have to make sure I do my best. If I go to camp and do my best, I'm sure they'll find a way to find a spot in the lineup for me." The Senators have Kyle Turris, David Legwand, Mika Zibanejad and Zack Smith as their projected centers. Pageau had two goals in 28 appearances with Ottawa last season, but he feels grown since then. He is better on faceoffs and he can kill penalties, which may help him make the big club. If he can't land a spot then he'll start the year in Binghamton.
