Nov 4 - 10:54 AM

Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored a goal in Ottawa's 3-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

It's the first time the two teams play each other in a meaningful game since last spring's Stanley Cup playoffs. Pageau's goal was scored shorthanded, as he picked up the puck in his own end and snuck one by goalie Mike Condon. The 22-year-old tends to play his best games against the Montreal Canadiens, but his fantasy upside is limited over 82 games.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau has agreed to a two-year deal worth $1.8 million.

He didn't make his season debut with Ottawa until Dec. 17, but down the stretch he became a valuable member of the team's third line. The 22-year-old forward posted 10 goals and 19 points in 50 games last campaign.

Apr 26 - 11:13 AM

Ottawa coach Dave Cameron is expecting Jean-Gabriel Pageau to play in Game 6 Sunday evening.

He blocked a P.K. Subban slapshot during a Montreal powerplay and hobbled off the ice Friday night but there is a very good chance he will lace them up against the Habs for Sunday's crucial match.
Apr 25 - 11:40 AM

Jean-Gabriel Pageau is considered "day-to-day" with an undisclosed injury after blocking a PK Subban shot while on the penalty kill Friday night during Game Five's 5-1 victory.

"They're only going to get harder as the series goes on, so I wish him the best of luck," Subban said of Pageau. The rookie forward put forth a quality effort during his 14:32 of playing, along with his shot block he contributed three pucks to the net, threw five hits, and won nearly half his draws. Plus he played 2:03 on the kill, which is very impressive to say the least. It's unclear how severely Pageau is hurt, but he wouldn't be the first player to gut out a severe injury during the playoffs.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau likes playing against Montreal.

"I have a lot of friends and family that are Habs fans and were born Habs fans and I totally respect them, but I try to give everything," said Pageau. Jean-Gabriel Pageau is just fine after sustaining a knee-on-knee hit from Steven Stamkos Thursday night.

It looked bad for a few minutes as Pageau hobbled off the ice to the dressing room. Thankfully, he was not seriously injured and returned to finish the game. There was no penalty assessed against Stamkos on the play but that doesn't mean that the NHL won't take a look at the infraction.
