Tyler Graovac is over the groin injury that plagued him last season.
Graovac will get to demonstrate as much on Monday when he plays in a preseason contest against Buffalo. "I’m so pumped," Graovac said. "I’ve been waiting for this since the surgery. Throughout the whole year last year, I was just, to be honest, waiting for the year to get over so I could get my strength back. It was tough, took a toll on my body. I feel right now I can start off where I left off at the end of training camp last year. With new coaches, I’m here to make all new impressions." Tyler Graovac has agreed to a two-year, $1.25 million contract with the Minnesota Wild.

Graovac would have become a restricted free agent. The first season of his new deal is two-way, but it becomes a one-way deal in 2017-18. He had five goals and 16 points in 39 AHL contests in 2015-16.

The Wild appear to be close to signing him to a new deal. Graovac registered five goals and 16 points in 39 AHL games last year. He didn't have a point in two outings with Minnesota.

Tyler Graovac has been recalled by Minnesota along with seven other players.

Grayson Downing, Kurtis Gabriel, Stephen Michalek, Zack Mitchell, Zach Palmquist, Tyson Strachan and Hunter Warner were also summoned from the minors. They are not expected to play for the Wild in the postseason, but with the team struggling against the Stars they are possibilities.

Tyler Graovac has been returned to AHL Iowa.

The Wild had to make room on the roster to bring up defenseman Mike Reilly, so Graovac was sent down after he made his second appearance of the 2015-16 NHL season against St. Louis on Saturday night.

"He's skating well," said Yeo after Tuesday's practice. "The next step is to get in some more contact drills." Graovac full took part in the session. He hasn't played since Oct. 8.

Coach Mike Yeo said Graovac is still "a ways away" from getting back into the lineup. He didn't take part in contact drills and has missed 22 games after surgery to repair a core muscle.

Tyler Graovac skated with his teammates for the first time since sustaining an abdominal injury on opening night which required corrective surgery.

He is still a few weeks away from returning to action, but he is making progess. Look for Graovac to return to the Wild lineup around mid-December.

He is expected to make a full recovery, but he is projected to be out of action for approximately six weeks. Graovac hasn't played since Oct. 8 because of a groin issue.

He has been on the ice with skating and skills instructor Andy Ness as well as third-string goalie Niklas Backstrom for the past four days. Graovac still has some work to do before he can return to the lineup, but he is making encouraging progress.

It is the first time he has skated with his teammates since he suffered a groin injury on opening night. Graovac will probably need some more sessions before he is able to return to the lineup.
