Tyler Groavac scored the second goal in a 3-2 loss of the Minnesota Wild to the Colorado Avalanche Saturday night.

This was not only the second goal of the night, but the second of the season and the second career goal for Groavac. Unfortunately it is a little too soon to form a fantasy bandwagon for third-year center because his other goal was earned well back in October in a 4-0 win over the Stars. In eight games this year, he has earned only two points.

Minnesota has recalled Tyler Graovac from AHL Iowa.

Graovac has no points in five career NHL games. He does however have four points in six games with Iowa this season, but the 23-year-old has not proven to be much of a point-getting in the minors we'd leave him on the wire.

Minnesota has waived Tyler Graovac.

Coach Bruce Boudreau wasn't impressed by Graovac's play at training camp. "It's just important that he competes a little harder," Boudreau said. "I mean, he's a guy that's 6-foot-4, 200 and some pounds. Everyone wants that kind of guy. But the job was there for him, and he just didn't take it. That's what got me upset at a lot of these guys. The jobs were there to be had, and some guys just didn't take their opportunity." Graovac played in just two games with Minnesota last season.
