He is projected to be paired with Keven Shattenkirk and Robert Bortuzzo will be scratched. "He's a young guy, it's a great experience for him," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "He's looking forward to it, we're looking forward to having him in. He caught his breath and he'll be a good player tonight."

Joel Edmundson will be a healthy scratch in Game 5 against the Blackhawks.

Edmundson had played in the first four games of the series, but the Blues are making a change on Thursday. Carl Gunnarsson will take his spot in the lineup. Ty Rattie, Dmitrij Jaskin, Chris Butler, Petteri Lindbohm, Magnus Paajarvi, Ryan Reaves and Anders Nilsson will also sit for the Blues. If St. Louis wins tonight, they'd eliminate the defending Stanley Cup champions.

Joel Edmundson has inked a two-year contract extension with the St. Louis Blues.

Edmundson's new deal will come come with a $1,050,000 annual cap hit. He has a goal and eight assists in 66 games this season.

Joel Edmundson was struck on the right side of the face by a shot from teammate Jaden Schwartz on Wednesday night.

He said X-rays were negative and he was able to return to the contest. Edmundson picked up an assist in just under 12 minutes of ice time.

The 6-foot-4, 207-pounder likes to throw his weight around and has 63 hits in 31 games this season. Edmundson also logged a career-high 24:24 of ice time against Los Angeles last Saturday and picked up two of his four assists this season in last Friday's shootout loss to Anaheim. He has been stepping up his play with Jay Bouwmeester and Carl Gunnarsson injured.

Through the first 25 games of the season, and Edmundson's career, the rookie defender has posted two points, 22 PIMs, 23 blocks, and 37 hits. Not bad, but not fantasy worthy either.

Joel Edmundson and Jordan Caron were scratched from Sunday's match against Dallas.

Edmundson has put forth 22 PIMs, 23 blocks, and 37 hits through 25 games this season. Which isn't too shabby all things considered. But like Caron, he probably doesn't warrant a spot on yours squad.

Joel Edmundson and Scott Gomez will each be scratched from Saturday's match with Dallas.

All things considered, both players are having nice seasons for the Blues. Edmundson has put forth 22 PIMs, 23 blocks, and 37 hits through 25 games. While Gomez, at his ripe old age, has eight points in 20 games. Neither are great fantasy options, but both contribute on the ice.
