Joel Edmundson potted his fifth goal of the season in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over Arizona.

Edmundson opened the scoring in the match. He already has more goals in 2017-18 through 17 games than he had in his previous two seasons (136 games) combined.
Nov 10 - 10:56 AM

Joel Edmundson found the back of the net and registered an assist in a 4-1 win against Columbus on Saturday.

Edmundson now has three goals and four points in 12 contests this season. The 24-year-old defenseman is in his third NHL season and he's seen his role grow from the 17:46 minutes per game he averaged in 2016-17 to close to 20 minutes in 2017-18. We still don't see him as a significant offensive threat, but he should be able to surpass last season's total of 15 points by a decent amount.
Oct 29 - 6:09 AM

Joel Edmundson is expected to take on a larger role with the Blues in 2017-18.

Edmundson has formed a solid shutdown pairing with Colton Parayko and the duo was impressive in the playoffs. "I feel like I've been around long enough," said the 23-year-old blueliner. "I can definitely lead the way to the younger guys. ... Having a full year of experience, going through the playoffs last year, the confidence (this year) was there. I think that's what's going to be good for our group going into next year." His offensive success in the postseason may give him confidence to get involved in the play more often during the regular season. Still, he probably won't have much in the way of fantasy value next year.
May 30 - 4:11 PM

Joel Edmundson may see some power-play time in Game 5 against Nashville.

"We'll see," Edmundson said after Thursday's practice. "They threw me out there to see how it is. I'm not sure what they're up to though. If the opportunity comes, I'll be excited." He saw just 2:28 on the power play for the entire regular season, but he has three goals and three assists in nine playoff games. The Blues have also struggled mightily with the man advantage in the postseason, while scoring two times on 24 opportunities.
May 5 - 10:41 AM

Joel Edmundson scored a goal in St. Louis' 2-1 loss to the Predators in Game 4 on Tuesday night.

Edmundson finally solved Preds goalie Pekka Rinne (2-1) with just under four minutes remaining in the game, but that was as close as the Blues would come to tying the game. After scoring just three goals in 69 games during the regular season, Edmundson has already scored three times in just nine playoff games. The Blues are now officially in must-win mode, as they trail the best-of-seven series 3-1. One more loss would knock them out of the postseason. Game 5 will be played in St. Louis on Friday night.
May 3 - 12:54 AM

Joel Edmundson earned a pair of assists in Wednesday's Game 1 loss to Nashville.

He assisted on goals by Colton Parayko and Jaden Schwartz in a 4-3 loss to the Predators. Edmundson has accounted for four points in six playoff games this year. He contributed just 15 points in 69 contests during the regular season.
Apr 27 - 10:45 AM

Joel Edmundson scored in Friday's 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild.

Edmundson had three goals in 69 games during the regular season, but he's already found the back of the net twice in two games this postseason. Edmundson scored the overtime winner in Game 1, while his goal in Game 2 gave his team a 1-0 lead early in the second period. The Blues are in a great spot right now, as they're heading back home with a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 3 will be played on Sunday afternoon.
Apr 15 - 9:29 AM

Joe Edmundson scored the game winning goal at the 17:48 minute mark of overtime to lift the Blues to a 2-1 victory over the Wild Wednesday night.

The Blues were outshot by the Wild in every period, with wide margins coming in the second and third. Edmundson, who played the role of the unlikely hero, had the fifth shot for the Blues in the extra period, while the Wild had eight. He had one goal in 16 appearances with St. Louis during the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Apr 13 - 1:23 AM

Joel Edmundson picked up his third goal of the campaign during Sunday's 4-1 win over the Predators.

In 67 games last season, he posted one goal and nine points and over 65 games during his sophomore season he has registered 15 points.
Apr 2 - 7:37 PM

He has accounted for six of his nine points in his past eight games, but we wouldn't rush to pick him up.
Jan 6 - 10:27 AM

Joel Edmundson (upper body) will make his return to the Blues' lineup on Tuesday.

Edmundson missed roughly a month due to his injury. "I'm feeling good. This is probably the best day I've had so far," Edmundson said. "I've skated for three weeks now. I feel like I can jump right into the game." His return coincidentally corresponds with fellow Blues defenseman Robert Bortuzzo sustaining a lower-body injury on Saturday.
