Jordan Binnington is up with the Blues on emergency recall.

In nine games with the AHL's Chicago Wolves, he has posted a 6-2-1 record to go with a 1.89 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage. Brian Elliott suffered a lower-body injury on Tuesday, so Binnington will back up Jake Allen.

Jordan Binnington could get the nod for Canada in the bronze-medal game at the World Junior Championship on Saturday versus Russia.

Shortly after Canada's 5-1 loss to the United States in the semifinals on Thursday coach Steve Spott said, "I don't want to make that decision yet. We'll sit down and make that decision (as a staff)." Binnington made his first appearance for the Canada at the tournament in relief of Malcolm Subban, who allowed four goals on 16 shots, and stopped 25 of the 26 shots he faced. Subban was in goal for Canada's 4-1 victory over Russia during the preliminary round though. The St. Louis Blues prospect wasn't guaranteed the start by any means, but the door does appear to be open for him to get the call.

Owen Sound goalie Jordan Binnington stopped all 26 Windsor Spitfire shots in a 1-0 win.

Binnington is a third round draft pick (88th in 2011) of the St. Louis Blues. So far he's 13-3-1 with two shutouts, a 2.18 GAA and a .932 save percentage. If he can keep this going all season, he'll force the Blues to notice his work in a crowded goaltending field.
