Adam Lowry, son of long time NHL'er Dave Lowry, currently leads all rookies in penalty minutes with 28 through his first 26 games.

Perhaps strangely, the young Lowry has just one fight to his credit. He fought Craig Adams late in the third period in a November 6th loss to Pittsburgh. Fifteen of those minutes also came in from a boarding (five minutes) and game misconduct (ten minutes) he received for hitting Buffalo's Patrick Kaleta from behind. It also resulted in his first career suspension, albeit just one game.
Dec 7 - 9:15 PM

Adam Lowry is eligible to return to the Jets' lineup after serving his one-game suspension on Friday.

Lowry was banned for a game because of his hit from behind on Sabres' forward Patrick Kaleta. Despite being remorseful, Lowry admits he won't change his physical style of play. "My entire career, something I've tried to focus on is being physical and hard to play against," he said. "This is my first suspension. There's a way you can find that balance. I don't think you need to be taking dirty runs at guys." The Jets next game is at home against Edmonton on Wednesday.
Nov 30 - 9:23 AM

Adam Lowry has been banned for one game for a boarding infraction on Buffalo forward Patrick Kaleta.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night and it got Lowry tossed from the game. He received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding. Lowry won't be in the lineup for Friday's game at Boston because of the suspension. The Jets don't play again until next Wednesday versus Edmonton.
Nov 27 - 2:43 PM

Adam Lowry will have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety on Thursday afternoon for an incident Wednesday against the Buffalo Sabres.

Lowry was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta in the second period.
Nov 27 - 9:49 AM

Adam Lowry netted his first NHL goal Tuesday night when he deflected a point shot by Grant Clitsome.

"I kind of went off on my own and celebrated a little bit while everyone went to Grant," said Lowry. "And then I was a little worried because I wasn't sure it was going to be a high stick or not, so I tried to stay a little subdued. And the guys from the bench realized I had gotten a stick on it and were calling over for the puck. When they announced it was my goal I was pretty excited." He's looked comfortable centering T.J. Galiardi and Michael Frolik, but he has played on the wing as well. His tally on Tuesday turned out to be the game winner in a 3-1 victory over Carolina.
Oct 22 - 7:46 AM

Winnipeg head coach Paul Maurice has moved rookie forward Adam Lowry to center.

Lowry started the first four games of the season at left wing, but will now shift to the middle. "I also think that's the future of our organization and him," said Maurice of Lowry. " He's going to play centre ice sooner rather than later." Lowry is expected to play on Winnipeg's third line with Michael Frolik and T.J. Galiardi. The 21-year-old has no points in four games this season.
Oct 19 - 12:20 PM

Adam Lowry will start the 2014-15 season with the Winnipeg Jets.

"It's pretty exciting. You work all summer and your whole career to get up to this point and to be able to start in the NHL. It's definitely an exciting feeling," said Lowry, who the Jets said will wear No. 17 this season. "I was pretty anxious to wait and find out. It's kind of out of your control once exhibition season was done, so I was pretty nervous." Lowry skated on the third line at practice Monday alongside Dustin Byfuglien and Mathieu Perreault.
Oct 7 - 7:10 AM

Winnipeg Jets’ head coach Paul Maurice has been impressed with the play of rookie forward Adam Lowry.

"I liked him," said Paul Maurice after the team’s loss against Minnesota on Saturday. "I liked a lot of things that he does that you don’t have to teach as a coach. There’s a lot about his game that I think is very advanced for a man of his age." The 6-5 forward is comfortable at center and left wing. If he continues his strong preseason play, he may land a spot on the Jets’ third line.
Sep 28 - 1:15 PM

Adam Lowry played a physical game during Monday's preseason win over Minnesota.

He co-led the Jets with five hits and logged 15:55 of ice time. Lowry was also solid on the penalty kill, where he finished with 5:39 of playing time. "That's something I take a lot of pride in, my defensive ability, especially on the penalty kill," said Lowry. "That was a very strong part of our team in St. John's last year, with John Albert and Patrice Cormier, and I thought it carried over tonight."
Sep 23 - 6:37 AM

Adam Lowry played center for St. John's and could be a prospect to watch for the Jets.

Winnipeg is in need of some depth down the middle and Lowry could be an option in the next year or two. He generated 17 goals and 33 points in 64 AHL games last season. His 6-foot-5 frame and 201-pound body are intriguing for a team looking for size at the center position, but he may not be ready to step into the NHL next season.
Jun 20 - 7:40 AM

Adam Lowry was assigned to the minors on Tuesday.

The Jets also sent down Eric O'Dell, Ivan Telegin and Andrew Gordon. Gordon has to clear waivers before he can report to AHL St. John's.

Adam Lowry picked up a game-high seven hits in Monday's preseason game against the Edmonton Oilers.

"It felt good," Lowry said. "I was pretty excited to get it underway. I was a little nervous during the day, just anxious to get it underway. As the game wore on, I started to get more comfortable. The first two shifts I was able to get a couple of hits in and it allowed me to settle my nerves and know I could play with these guys." He went on to reiterate that he's willing to go to the AHL to further his development if that's what the team decides and that is likely to happen.

Adam Lowry is set to play in Monday's preseason game versus Edmonton.

It will mark his first game action since the prospects tournament following a setback during the first scrimmage of training camp. He banged his head and suffered some whiplash, which kept him limited until now. Lowry is eager to play now though and he feels 100 percent.
Mon, Sep 23, 2013 09:10:00 AM

Adam Lowry would like to make the Jets' roster out of training camp, but if he doesn't then he's OK with starting his pro career in the minors.

Lowry, who was the WHL player of the year last season, is being viewed as a bit of dark horse to begin the 2013-14 campaign in the NHL with Winnipeg. He got a taste of the AHL last year, with St. John's, and posted one assist in nine contests. It's likely that he'll head down to the minors for some seasoning, but he could be in the big league at some point this season.
