Antoine Roussel scored twice in France's 5-1 victory over Finland in the 2017 World Championships.

Roussel had 12 goals and 27 points in 60 games with Dallas in 2016-17. This is the second major upset of the 2017 World Championship with the other being Germany's 2-1 win over Team USA on the opening day. It's worth noting that France and Germany are the hosts of this year's tournament, with France's win on Sunday coming in Paris and Germany's victory against the States coming in Cologne.

Antoine Roussel earned his first hat trick of the season as the Dallas Stars beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in overtime Saturday night.

Roussel accounted for all three of the Stars’ regulation goals. Trailing 2-0 almost 13 minutes in the first, he scored at the 12:50 and 18:50 minute marks to tie the contest. The Bolts held the Stars scoreless through the second and Roussel tied the game for a second time at 4:40 in the third, sending the game into overtime where Jamie Benn scored the game winner. This was not only Roussel’s first hat trick of the season, but also the first time he scored more than a single goal.

Roussel skated on a line with Jason Spezza and Tyler Seguin, but you shouldn't read too much into that because he was likely just keeping that spot warm for the absent Jamie Benn (foot). Either way, Roussel is getting pretty close to returning.

The Dallas Stars have placed Antoine Roussel on injured reserve retroactive to December 20th.

Roussel suffered an upper-body injury during practice on December 20th and missed the game against the Kings on the 23rd. The Stars called up Jason Dickinson in a corresponding move. Roussel has five goals, 17 points, and 87 penalty minutes in 34 games this season. He brings a nice blend of points and penalty minutes to your fantasy lineup.

Confirming an earlier note, Antoine won't play in Friday's match with the Kings due to an undisclosed injury.

It looks like the Stars are going to play it safe with their rugged winger and let him get some extra rest ahead of the holiday break. Consider him day-to-day for now.
