Ryan Garbutt's goal was the game winner Saturday.
Garbutt's goal gave the Ducks a 3-2 lead and they won 5-2 as Anaheim became the first team in the series to win at home. "That was hard work," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. "He raced down the boards and beat them to a puck and then finished it behind the net. That’s just hard work and determination and that’s all him. When he plays like that, he’s very effective." Garbutt came to the Ducks from Chicago in exchange for Jiri Sekac on January 21 and the move paid off in spades on Saturday. Apr 24 - 7:00 AM

Date:

Thanks to his goal in Saturday's 5-3 win over Colorado, Ryan Garbutt now has more points with Anaheim than he did with Chicago.

That's right, Garbutt has tallied seven points in 36 games compared to the six in 43 games with Chicago. Not too shabby for the grinding winger.
Apr 9 - 10:37 PM

Ryan Garbutt found the back of the net in a 6-5 overtime loss to Toronto on Thursday.

It was Garbutt's first point since Feb. 11. He started the season with Chicago, but was acquired on Jan. 21 in exchange for Jiri Sekac. He has six goals and 11 points in 71 games this season.
Mar 25 - 10:41 AM

Ryan Garbutt has found his transition from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Anaheim Ducks a little hard.

Garbutt loves the style of play of the Ducks and has three goals and four points in nine games. "I think it’s been a good fit for sure, maybe a little bit more my style," Garbutt said. "It wasn’t an easy transition. Coaches here made it really easy to move in and play your game. It’s a fun team to play for." His value is not big in fantasy but he can contribute.
Feb 14 - 6:41 AM

Ryan Garbutt now has three points in four games with the Anaheim Ducks.

Which includes goals in consecutive games as well. Garbutt has just 78 career points in his career, but a hot streak is a hot streak.
Feb 5 - 2:27 AM

Ryan Garbutt will make his Ducks debut Saturday night against Detroit.

Garbutt will skate with Shawn Horcoff and Nate Thompson to create perhaps one of the more dynamic fourth lines in the West. He comes in having posted six points with 27 PIMs and 94 hits in 43 games with Chicago.
Jan 23 - 7:05 PM

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired Ryan Garbutt from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Jiri Sekac.

Garbutt has six points and 27 penalty minutes in 42 contests this season. He was logging 10:19 minutes per contest in Chicago and might see a minor uptick in playing time with the Ducks.
Jan 21 - 10:32 AM

Ryan Garbutt scored his second goal of the season Thursday night in a 2-1 win over Montreal.

He gave the Blackhawks the lead just before the 13-minute mark of the first period and it held up as the game winner. Garbutt has two points in his last three outings, but he has just six points on the year.
Jan 15 - 9:00 AM

Ryan Garbutt will be inserted back into Chicago's lineup ahead of Thursday's game against Edmonton.

"He’s a reliable guy as far as going up and down the wing. He gives us some speed, gives us some energy. That’s what we’re looking for," coach Joel Quenneville said of Garbutt. "I think he and [Brandon Mashinter] do comparable things, but I think Garbs has some experience. We’re looking for that as well."

Ryan Garbutt and David Rundbladd will each be scratched from Tuesday's match with Colorado.

Garbutt will sit for his third straight game, but he's had a nice season if your league supports tough guys. He has 23 PIMs and a whopping 69 hits in 26 games, which is mighty impressive to say the least.

Ryan Garbutt and Michal Roszival will not dress for the Blackhawks on Sunday.

Garbutt will sit for the second straight game. He has four points in 26 games and doesn't hold any fantasy value.

Ryan Garbutt (illness) returned to action on Saturday.

Garbutt played 9:01 and had a shot on goal. It has not been a good fantasy season for Garbutt, his first with the Blackhawks after coming over in an off-season deal from Dallas. He has two assists in 14 games with a minus-five rating. The chippy player does have 15 penalty minutes so there is some hope in fantasy pools.

Ryan Garbutt probably won't play on Thursday.

Garbutt was dealing with an illness and while he's feeling better now, he's been held off the ice for four or five days. Consequently, he might benefit from getting a chance to get back into the swing of things before returning.
