Date:

Brendan Shinnimin's arbitration hearing date has been set for July 20.

That's the earliest possible date, so the Coyotes obviously don't have a ton of time to re-sign Shinnimin in order to avoid the unpleasantness of a hearing. He made his NHL debut last season and finished with an assist in 12 games.

Arizona Coyotes RFA forward Brendan Shinnimin filed for salary arbitration on Friday.

Shinnimin is coming off his Entry Level Contract which dinged the cap at a $667.5K clip while up with the big boys. Shinnimin finally saw his first NHL action last season, and in a dozen games he collected his first point (assist). This came on the heals of his career season with AHL Portland in which he scored 22 goals and 47 points in 64 games. Plus six points in five Calder Cup playoff games. It would seem he's in line for a modest raise.
