The Philadelphia Flyers have yet to decide whether or not to give goaltender Cal Heeter a qualifying offer.

The decision must be made by Monday and if the Flyers choose not to qualify Heeter, he becomes an unrestricted free agent, rather than a restricted free agent if they decide to qualify him. The 25-year-old Heeter is likely an AHL goalie next season after he managed to make his NHL debut in the regular season finale as he stopped 33 of 38 in a 6-5 shootout loss to the Hurricanes.

Goaltender Cal Heeter does not lack for confidence at the Philadelphia Flyers prospects camp.

The undrafted Heeter was signed by the Flyers in March after a stellar four-year career at The Ohio State University. "He's got a sense of arrogance - a good arrogance, a confidence you need to play this position," goaltender coach Geoff Reese said. "This position, like everything else, is so much a mental game. He has that confidence that he can do it. You need that." Heeter hopes to play in the AHL this season, but is still a few years away at best from playing in the NHL.
