Dec 8 - 3:56 PM

Anders Lee was limited to just 13:04 minutes of ice time in his season debut.

Lee started the campaign in the minors. The good news is that while he playing time was limited, he typically skated alongside Ryan Strome. We can't recommend picking him up at this time if you're in a standard league, but he's worth keeping a close eye on.
Oct 24 - 11:15 AM

The New York Islanders have called up Anders Lee.

Lee has three goals and five points in five AHL games. Although there's a fair chance he'll get sent down again once Mikhail Grabovski (concussion) is healthy, Lee might have some short-term fantasy value in standard leagues.
Oct 22 - 5:26 PM

Anders Lee wasn't able to make the Islanders' opening game roster despite having a solid preseason.

Islanders coach Jack Capuano is upbeat about Lee's future, but at the age of 24 he's running out of time to establish himself as an NHL regular. "I know I can play at this level; I feel like I did the best I could with the opportunity I had last year," Lee said. "Everything I do is to try and help this team win. That won't change, whether I'm here or [in Bridgeport]." The Islanders should call him up for at least one stint before the season is over.
Oct 8 - 9:29 AM

Anders Lee is looking to catch on full time with the Isles this season after handling a 22 game NHL call-up quite well last season.

The 24 year old had 14 points during his NHL stint and another 41 in 54 AHL games during his rookie year. The hulking power forward has nice speed and strength, while he is capable of playing a variety of roles on the ice.

Apr 12 - 11:54 AM

Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper thinks very highly of Islanders forward Anders Lee.

It wasn't that long ago that Cooper and Lee were both in the United States Hockey League. "Not to embarrass him, but he's one of not only the greatest players I've coached for that level, but just as good a human being," Cooper said. "A born leader, and he's a winner. The kid just finds a way to will teams to win." Lee is getting an opportunity to show what he can do with the Islanders and so far he's made the most of it by scoring six goals and 10 points in 12 games.
Mar 27 - 10:49 AM

Islanders forward Anders Lee was held off the scoresheet in Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the Wild.

Mar 18 - 10:19 PM

Opportunity is knocking for Anders Lee, the Islanders' recent callup who appears very likely to join Kyle Okposo and Frans Nielsen on the top line at home against the Sharks Friday night.

With Michael Grabner out indefinitely with a concussion, Isles coach Jack Capuano said: "I think Anders Lee deserves an opportunity to move up on that line. He's played well for us. When Grabner went down the last game [in Vancouver] we put him up there with Nielson and Okposo and I thought they really played well . . . So, it's a good combination and most likely that's the guy we'll probably play on that line." Lee, called up in late February, has five goals and two assists in seven games. He had 22 and 19 for AHL affiliate Bridgeport in 54 games. "Everything's been falling into place for me, things have been going well," Lee, 23, said. "I've been playing with some really good guys, whether it's [Ryan] Strome or [Colin] McDonald, Okie or Fransie, it doesn't really matter who." We've been suggesting here for several days now that you may wish to invest in Lee for your fantasy league. We strongly suggest it now - if he's still available.
Mar 13 - 10:14 AM

Lee, who had a goal and assist in his two-game sniff of NHL life at the end of last season after he turned pro out of Notre Dame, has continued to find the net. He scored his fourth goal in five games Thursday in Edmonton, and he's at seven points (5-2-7) in seven career games, a neat little pace. He might be worth an investment in your fantasy league.
