The New York Islanders have confirmed that Anders Lee is out indefinitely with a broken left fibula.

Lee was struck by teammate Johnny Boychuk's slapshot during Thursday's contest. This will obviously prevent Lee from playing in the season finale, but it will likely prevent him from participating in any part of the Islanders' playoff run too. He has 15 goals and 36 points in 80 contests in 2015-16.

Anders Lee is out indefinitely fractured his leg in the Islanders victory over the New York Rangers.

This is not good news for the Islanders who are already injury depleted. The Islanders already have Travis Hamonic (knee), Jaroslav Halak (groin) and Mikhail Grabovski (concussion symptoms) out long term already. Lee will undergo more tests on Friday. In 80 games this season, the 25 year-old has 15 goals and 36 points.

Anders Lee picked up two more assists in Team USA's 3-1 victory over Team Switzerland on Thursday night.

Lee now sits tied with teammate Jack Eichel for second on the team in assists with four. The New York Islanders' forward also now has five points, which is tied for fourth on the team with Eichel on the team.
