Joe Cannata might end up starting the season with Colorado.

Jonathan Bernier has been dealing with a groin injury for nearly a week now and he didn't take part in Saturday's practice. While nothing is set in stone, Bernier's availability for the season opener is starting to look in doubt. If he can't play then Cannata could take his place. Cannata, 27, has no NHL experience.
