Zach Trotman and Alexander Khokhlachev will be scratched Friday night against Columbus.

Trotman was called up in case Kevan Miller couldn't go (dislocated shoulder) and Khokhlachev was called up on an emergency basis. They won't get to play but they will get a nice upgrade to their per diem, could be worse.

Nov 18 - 6:50 PM

It looks as if Zach Trotman will be in the Bruins' lineup Saturday against Toronto.

Both he and Joe Morrow were summoned from Providence of the AHL after Zdeno Chara sustained a knee injury Thursday night. Judging by Boston's line rushes Friday morning it appears Trotman will be paired with Matt Bartkowski at least for his first game in Beantown this season. Trotman has no real fantasy value.
Oct 25 - 9:01 AM

The Boston Bruins have summoned Zach Trotman.

Trotman has an assist in five AHL games in 2014-15. Don't expect him to do much offensively during his stint with the Bruins.
Oct 24 - 12:37 PM

The Boston Bruins announced that they have assigned 10 players to the Providence Bruins.

Chris Castro, Alex Fallstrom, Brian Ferlin, Seth Griffith, Jared Knight, Matt Lindblad, Joe Morrow, Tyler Randell, Ben Sexton and Zach Trotman will head to the AHL. The team also announced that Bracken Kearns has been released from his pro tryout.

Despite a lack of openings on defense, Zach Trotman is hoping to stick with the Boston Bruins this year, but realizes he may have to play in the AHL again.

Trotman signed a two-year contract extension with the club this summer. The first year of the deal is a two-way contract, but the second year of the contract turns into a one-way deal. Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, there doesn’t appear to be many openings for him in 2014-15. "You can’t really think about that," said Trotman. "That’s not something I can control. I try to go out every day thinking about what I can control, and that’s how I play." Unless the Bruins suffer some injuries on the blue line, Trotman will probably start the year in Providence.
Sep 28 - 8:29 AM

Zach Trotman said it was a "dream come true" for him to get a one-way contract with the Bruins.

More specifically, Trotman inked a two-year contract that's two-ways in 2014-15 and one-way in 2015-16. Even still, the fact that the Bruins would structure his deal like that suggests that they feel Trotman isn't far off from being a regular in the NHL. It helps that AHL Providence coach Bruce Cassidy has also singled out Trotman and Joe Morrow as "clearly the next guys in line" for the Boston Bruins. Trotman played in two games with Boston in 2013-14 and also had 24 points in 53 AHL contests.
Jul 21 - 5:34 PM

Zach Trotman has agreed to a two-year contract with the Boston Bruins.

Trotman will come with a $625,000 annual cap hit at the NHL level. His deal is two-ways in 2014-15, but it's just one way for the second season. He had eight goals and 24 points in 53 AHL games last season.
Jul 18 - 1:31 PM

Zach Trotman has returned to AHL Providence.

Trotman didn't end up playing for Boston in his most recent stint with the team. He has no points in two games with the Bruins in 2013-14.

He played in his second NHL game of the season on Monday afternoon against Los Angeles.
Jan 21 - 1:34 AM

The Bruins assigned Zach Trotman to Providence of the AHL on Sunday.

He, along with David Warsofsky, were called up on an emergency basis for Saturday's game against Ottawa due to a number of injuries on the Boston blueline. Trotman did fairly well in his NHL debut. He took three shots on goal and had a neutral plus/minus rating in 16:41 of playing time in the Bruins' 4-3 loss. The 23-year-old Trotman has had some moderate success from an offensive perspective in both the CCHA with Lake Superior State University and with Providence of the AHL. That said, he is not a fantasy asset at this time.
