Danny DeKeyser has struggled since he returned to the lineup from an ankle injury.

In 10 games, DeKeyser has no points and a minus-11 rating. "I think it's been taking me a little bit to get going to where I want to be," he said. "I felt good (in Monday's 2-1 overtime loss to Florida), I thought my legs were better, I was moving a bit better on the ice, felt stronger. At the same time, I was out six weeks, so it's going to take a little bit to come back from that." DeKeyser believes his game will turn around soon though because he is feeling better.

Danny DeKeyser returned from a 17-game absence Sunday because of a fractured ankle.

DeKeyser had two penalty minutes, one hit, one block and a minus-1 rating in 16:23 of ice time in a 4-3 OT loss to Colorado. He has much more value to the Red Wings as a top-four blueliner than he does in fantasy hockey. DeKeyser is better to leave on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues.

The Detroit Red Wings will finally be able to welcome Danny DeKeyser (ankle) back to the lineup Sunday and he is itching to play.

"I think it’s been 16, 17 games, something like that. So, I’m excited to get back in there," DeKeyser said. "Foot’s been feeling really good. I got some good skates in, this week, so I’m just ready to get out there, tomorrow. It was an ankle injury that kind of, at first, looked like more like a sprain. But the more it went on, they took a second look at it and there was a small fracture in there." DeKeyser has only been able to appear in three games this season, averaging 23 minutes of action in his two full healthy games. He's a stabilizing all-around rearguard but shouldn't be added in fantasy leagues.

Danny DeKeyser suffered a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury.

DeKeyser is expected to need another one-to-three weeks. He won't skate for a week to see if that helps and then he will be re-evaluated. Right now, surgery does not appear to be in the cards.

Danny DeKeyser (ankle) probably won't play on Saturday night.

The Red Wings believed that there was a chance he could suit up on Thursday night, but he didn't. It seems like his ankle injury hasn't progressed as much as they would have hoped. He remains day-to-day for now.

Danny DeKeyser (lower body) was termed as day-to-day by Detroit coach Jeff Blashill.

Danny DeKeyser suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's game against the Stars and he was unable to return.

DeKeyser's status for Thursday's game against the Coyotes is murky. When healthy, he is expected to work on the team's top defensive pairing. However, despite his lofty status among the rearguards, he remains a rather marginal fantasy option due to his lack of offense. More often than not, the only reason he is on a roster in fantasy is for his blocked shots and hits.

Danny DeKeyser is expected to open training camp on a pairing with Trevor Daley.

Detroit signed Daley, who had been with Pittsburgh during the last two years, when free agency opened on July 1st. DeKeyser spent the majority of last season playing with Mike Green, who isn't exactly the most reliable player in his own end. Daley is fully capable of jumping into the rush, but he's more responsible defensively. DeKeyser had four goals, 12 points and a minus-22 rating in 82 games with the Red Wings last season. Don't expect him to have any fantasy value next season, but the Wings need him to be much better than he was last season.
