Danny DeKeyser (lower body) isn't expected to play Monday against Tampa Bay.

DeKeyser didn't skate on Sunday and he has been sidelined since Oct. 10 because of a lower-body injury. He is listed as day-to-day.
Oct 15 - 1:22 PM

Danny DeKeyser (lower body) was termed as day-to-day by Detroit coach Jeff Blashill.

DeKeyser left Tuesday's game after suffering the injury. The hope is that he'll participate in Thursday's morning skate and his availability for Thursday's contest will be determined after that.
Oct 11 - 4:59 PM

Danny DeKeyser suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's game against the Stars and he was unable to return.

DeKeyser's status for Thursday's game against the Coyotes is murky. When healthy, he is expected to work on the team's top defensive pairing. However, despite his lofty status among the rearguards, he remains a rather marginal fantasy option due to his lack of offense. More often than not, the only reason he is on a roster in fantasy is for his blocked shots and hits.
Oct 11 - 12:14 AM

Danny DeKeyser is expected to open training camp on a pairing with Trevor Daley.

Detroit signed Daley, who had been with Pittsburgh during the last two years, when free agency opened on July 1st. DeKeyser spent the majority of last season playing with Mike Green, who isn't exactly the most reliable player in his own end. Daley is fully capable of jumping into the rush, but he's more responsible defensively. DeKeyser had four goals, 12 points and a minus-22 rating in 82 games with the Red Wings last season. Don't expect him to have any fantasy value next season, but the Wings need him to be much better than he was last season.
Aug 22 - 10:28 AM

Danny DeKeyser doesn't agree with the NHL's decision to sit out the 2018 Winter Olympics.

"I don't think that's a very good decision," DeKeyser said. "I don't know who that benefits. It hurts everybody involved – both parties (players and NHL owners) – so it doesn't really make sense." Most players want to participate in the event, but the league and the owners decided to skip it. DeKeyser has represented the U.S. at two World Championships, including the 2017 tournament.
Aug 5 - 9:11 AM

Danny DeKeyser will play for Team USA at the 2017 IIHF World Championships.

Fellow Red Wings Jimmy Howard and Dylan Larkin will also be on the American roster. Detroit coach Jeff Blashill will be the bench boss for the U.S. Team.
Apr 14 - 9:30 AM

Danny DeKeyser potted a goal in a 5-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday night.

It was his fourth goal of the year and his first since Feb. 3. Unfortunately, DeKeyser also scored into his own net in the match when he tried to clear a rebound. He has contributed 12 points in 77 games this season.
Mar 31 - 8:45 AM

Danny DeKeyser scored the game-winning goal in Friday's 5-4 win over the New York Islanders.

DeKeyser's shot from the point with under 30 seconds remaining bounced a few times before making its way into the net. The goal gave Detroit a late 5-4 lead and they never looked back. "(Zetterberg) did a good job of winning the draw," DeKeyser said. "It hit a couple of guys going to the net. You just try to throw it on net." DeKeyser has three goals and eight points in 51 games. He has no value in standard leagues.
Feb 4 - 9:36 AM

Danny DeKeyser is projected to get a chance to quarterback Detroit's top power-play unit.

"What Danny brings is a real ability to bring the puck up the ice," coach Jeff Blashill said. "He's a good skater, he can move the puck. One of the things we've talked lots about is we've got to do a better job getting in the zone and having more possession time, and I think he can help." Detroit has the worst power play in the league and the team hasn't scored with the man advantage on the road since Oct. 19.
Jan 12 - 7:47 AM

Danny DeKeyser has picked up two points in the past two games.

He scored the game-winning goal in overtime against the Islanders on Sunday and he earned an assist versus Pittsburgh on Saturday for a productive weekend. DeKeyser has contributed just five points in 26 games this year.

Danny DeKeyser and a number of the other Detroit defensemen have struggled so far this season.

DeKeyser was stripped of the puck which led to a goal in Saturday night's 4-1 loss to Florida. Detroit Jeff Blashill has not been impressed with his blueline to date. When asked if he liked any of his pairings, Blashill had this to say: "None of them enough. Jonathan Ericsson has been very good in two games, Xavier Ouellet has been very good in two games. Mike Green for large portions has been good." That's it. Basically, DeKeyser, Brendan Smith and Aleksey Marchenko need to improve or else they may find themselves in the press box once Niklas Kronwall is healthy enough to play.
Sun, Oct 16, 2016 09:53:00 AM

Danny DeKeyser has signed a six-year, $30 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings.

He averaged 21:48 minutes of ice time per game last season, while contributing eight goals and 20 points in 78 matches. DeKeyser has become a top-four defender for the Red Wings, but he still has work to do before he becomes a viable player in fantasy leagues.
Tue, Jul 26, 2016 10:16:00 AM

Danny DeKeyser's arbitration hearing is set for Thursday, but an agreement on a long-term deal could be finalized before that.

"Ideally, Danny would like to do a longer-term deal. The club would like to do a longer-term deal," GM Ken Holland said. "Since they filed, this period of negotiation and time to do your brief for an arbitration hearing has mostly been about discussions on a longer-term deal. We talked Thursday, we talked Friday, we're going to talk again today." He can only receive a one-year deal if his case is heard.

Danny DeKeyser's arbitration date in July 28.

If the Red Wings and DeKeyser can't find a common ground before that date, then an arbitrator will hear their case. He's completed a two-year, $4,375,000 deal and recorded 20 points in 78 contests in 2015-16.
