Greg Pateryn missed Thursday's practice due to an undisclosed injury.

Greg Pateryn will be back in the lineup Thursday night.

Greg Pateryn will be scratched on Sunday against Chicago.

In 11 games this season Pateryn has posted a goal and three points with 14 blocks and 24 hits. Not bad rates if you're in a league that also rewards physical play.

Greg Pateryn will play Saturday against Boston.

Pateryn has not yet made an impact on the stat sheet, despite playing with Andrei Markov. Which unfortunately tells you all you need to know about his fantasy viability.

Greg Pateryn will take Jeff Petry's spot in the lineup for Thursday's season opener.

Pateryn will be paired with Andrei Markov on the back end versus Buffalo. Petry is sidelined with a knee injury.

Greg Pateryn believes he's ready to become a regular at the NHL level.

Pateryn has spent plenty of time with the Canadiens, but he hasn't played consistently. "I know what I’m capable of and sometimes it takes a little while to find your comfort level," said Pateryn. "Sometimes you have to get your mind set to get over that hump. I’m trying to play my game and sometimes it takes longer for some guys." Even if he does become a regular in 2016-17, the 26-year-old probably won't light up the scoresheet. He plays more of a physical defensive game. He has no fantasy relevance in standard leagues.

Greg Pateryn potted his first goal of the season in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win against Buffalo.

As is tradition, Greg Pateryn is scratched from Tuesday's match with Tampa Bay.

Okay, perhaps not tradition. But he he's seen just 11 games this season, so we wouldn't count on Pateryn for anything this season.

As is tradition after a win, Montreal Coach Michel Therrien will forego any lineup changes for Sunday's match with Carolina.

Which means that Greg Pateryn and Nathan Beaulieu will remain scratched. Pateryn has seen just 11 games this season, while Beaulieu has been reasonably productive in 51. He's posted 14 assists, 16 points, 36 PIMs, 40 hits, and 62 blocks.

Greg Pateryn will serve as a healthy scratch in Monday's game against Columbus.

So will Jacob De la Rose and Tom Gilbert, but in Gilbert's case he's just been activated off injured reserve and isn't 100 percent ready to play yet. None of these three players will have any fantasy value.
Mon, Jan 25, 2016 07:09:00 PM

Greg Pateryn and Jacob De La Rose will be scratched against Toronto on Saturday night.

No surprises here. De La Rose has suited up just twice since being called up, and Pateryn has but 11 games to his credit despite being with the team most of the season. Tough to forge any value from the grand stands.
