Brian Flynn is poised to return from an upper-body injury on Friday night.

He was on the ice Thursday morning for practice alongside Torrey Mitchell and Phillip Danault. "We'll take a final decision tomorrow, but he looked good in practice," said coach Michel Therrien on Thursday. "I liked the way that line played earlier this season. They're solid defensively, but they're also capable to score." Chris Terry was returned to the minors, which is a good indication that Flynn is ready. He has missed nine games due to the ailment.
Dec 2 - 8:23 AM

Brian Flynn (upper body) is expected to miss at least one more week.

Coach Michel Therrien revealed the news on Wednesday. Flynn hasn't been in the lineup since Nov. 10 due to an upper-body injury.
Nov 24 - 6:12 PM

Brian Flynn has been sidelined with upper body injury, he is considered day-to-day.

Flynn has just two points in 12 games so far this season without much else to his credit. So we'd feel free to leave him on the wire.
Nov 12 - 6:32 PM

Brian Flynn (neck) made his season debut on Tuesday.

Flynn sustained his neck injury during a preseason game and missed Montreal's first two regular season games as a result. He had no points and two penalty minutes in his debut.
Oct 19 - 2:06 AM

Brian Flynn suffered a neck injury in Tuesday's exhibition game against Boston.

He was hurt during the first period on a hit and left the match because of neck pain. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Oct 5 - 10:46 AM

Brian Flynn (lower body) was activated from the IL on Saturday.

Flynn was out of action for a couple of months with the injury. He ended the season with four goals and 10 points in 54 games after picking up just two assists in his last 23 contests.
Apr 10 - 2:36 AM

Brian Flynn will miss the next six to eight weeks because of a lower-body injury.

Flynn left Tuesday's game against the Lightning and didn't return. The 27-year-old isn't a major offensive contributor for the Habs, but he has been a useful player for them this season. His season could be over.
Feb 10 - 12:23 AM

Brian Flynn scored in the first period of Saturday's 3-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Flynn opened the scoring at the 2:48 mark of the first period. Nathan Beaulieu and Charles Hudon picked up the assists on the goal. Flynn has four goals and eight points in 31 games this season. He's a useful player, but isn't a serviceable fantasy option.

Brian Flynn scored a shorthanded marker on Thursday night in a 3-2 loss to the Capitals.

The 27-year-old has never scored more than 17 points in a season, and has six through 27 games so far.

Brian Flynn has been skating on Montreal's second line with Alex Galchenyuk and Lars Eller.

Devante Smith-Pelly and to a lesser extent Dale Weise have been tried on that line as well because the Canadiens have scratched Alexander Semin for the last three games. Flynn has recorded just one goal and two assists in 13 games this season, which doesn't complement the offensive talents of someone like Galchenyuk very well.

The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed Brian Flynn to a two-year/$1.9 million contract.

Flynn was due to become a restricted free agent on Wednesday. He played well in the playoffs for the Habs with three points in six games but is more of a depth forward for Montreal. He had five goals and 17 points in 63 games last season so we really cannot recommend him in fantasy pools.

Brian Flynn will be a healthy scratch for Game 3 Wednesday night versus the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Flynn was inserted into the lineup for Game 2 Sunday and played 14:18 whiole recording two shots on goal and a minus one rating, but with centerman David Desharnais returning from the flu, Flynn will move back to a reserve role. The Massachusetts native has registered a goal and two assists in six postseason games this year.

Updating a previous item, Brian Flynn will play in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Flynn was supposed to be a healthy scratch again in game two but he will play because David Desharnais has the flu.

Brian Flynn and Manny Malhotra are expected to be healthy scratches in Sunday's game two match-up against Tampa Bay.

Malhotra hasn't played for Montreal in the postseason yet, while Flynn has dressed and contributed. Unfortunately for Flynn, the Canadiens have a lot of healthy bodies right now and unless Michel Therrien gets the urge to change his lineup, Flynn will remain a healthy scratch.
