Brian Flynn has been skating on Montreal's second line with Alex Galchenyuk and Lars Eller.
Devante Smith-Pelly and to a lesser extent Dale Weise have been tried on that line as well because the Canadiens have scratched Alexander Semin for the last three games. Flynn has recorded just one goal and two assists in 13 games this season, which doesn't complement the offensive talents of someone like Galchenyuk very well. Nov 3 - 10:27 AM

The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed Brian Flynn to a two-year/$1.9 million contract.

Flynn was due to become a restricted free agent on Wednesday. He played well in the playoffs for the Habs with three points in six games but is more of a depth forward for Montreal. He had five goals and 17 points in 63 games last season so we really cannot recommend him in fantasy pools.
Jun 30 - 3:07 PM

Brian Flynn will be a healthy scratch for Game 3 Wednesday night versus the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Flynn was inserted into the lineup for Game 2 Sunday and played 14:18 whiole recording two shots on goal and a minus one rating, but with centerman David Desharnais returning from the flu, Flynn will move back to a reserve role. The Massachusetts native has registered a goal and two assists in six postseason games this year.

Updating a previous item, Brian Flynn will play in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Flynn was supposed to be a healthy scratch again in game two but he will play because David Desharnais has the flu.
May 3 - 5:40 PM

Brian Flynn and Manny Malhotra are expected to be healthy scratches in Sunday's game two match-up against Tampa Bay.

Malhotra hasn't played for Montreal in the postseason yet, while Flynn has dressed and contributed. Unfortunately for Flynn, the Canadiens have a lot of healthy bodies right now and unless Michel Therrien gets the urge to change his lineup, Flynn will remain a healthy scratch.
May 3 - 4:44 PM

It looks like Brian Flynn will be a healthy scratch in Sunday's game against the Ottawa Senators.

After dropping game five by a score of 5-1, the Canadiens will bring P.A. Parenteau into the lineup. Flynn was very good early on in this series, but he hasn't been as visible lately. Manny Maholtra, Sergei Gonchar and Mike Weaver will also be scratched in this game. Montreal's black aces are: Daniel Carr, Mike Condon, Darren Dietz, Charles Hudon, Brett Lernout, Joey MacDonald and Christian Thomas.

Forward Brian Flynn contributed three points to the Canadiens' 4-3 victory over the visiting Ottawa Senators in the first game of the Eastern Conference First Round playoff series in Montreal Wednesday night.

Flynn scored a goal and assisted on two others in his first Stanley Cup Playoff game. He had only five goals and 12 assists in 63 games with Montreal during the regular season. Torrey Mitchell and Tomas Plekanec scored 15 seconds apart to give Montreal a 2-1 lead at 8:08 of the second period. All-star defenseman P.K. Subban assisted on both goals before he was ejected and assessed a major penalty at 8:23 for slashing Ottawa forward Mark Stone on the right arm. A lot happened during Subban's major. Lars Eller scored a shorthanded goal at 11:42 between Ottawa power-play goals by Kyle Turris and Mika Zibanejad during the major, which was served by P.A. Parenteau. Flynn assisted on Mitchell's goal and set up Eller's breakaway goal with a pass from his knees before recording his third point of the second with a goal at 17:17. Flynn's goal gave the Canadiens' their third one-goal lead of the period. Game 2 of this all-Canadian series will be played in Montreal Friday night

Brian Flynn (upper body) will not play on Tuesday.

It was previously suggested that Flynn could play if necessary, but it's not surprising to hear that Montreal has opted to give him time to recover from his ailment. Manny Malhotra will be in the Canadiens' lineup instead.

Flynn was hurt during Monday's game. The ailment is not major though and he is able to play Tuesday should Canadiens coach Michel Therrien decide to use him.

Mar 16 - 10:43 AM

Brian Flynn and Manny Malhotra will be scratched versus the NY Islanders on Saturday night.

Flynn has just five hits and blocks through is first four games with Montreal. But he only put up five goals, 17 points, 37 hits, and 39 blocks in 54 games with the Sabres earlier in the season. So he has no fantasy value. Neither does Malhotra for that matter, whose biggest fantasy contribution has been winning 60% of his 851 draws this season.
