The San Jose Sharks have recalled defenseman Matt Tennyson from the minors.

Tennyson had a cup of coffee with the Sharks last month, spending 10 days with the team but not getting into a game. He could replace the injured Jason Demers tonight. Tennyson had five goals and 15 points in 37 games with Worcester of the AHL before his recall and was a minus-17.

Matt Tennyson lit the lamp Friday night in Worcester's 5-4 win over Providence.

Tennyson is a pretty good offensive blueliner, but his defensive game leaves a lot to be desired. He has 14 points in 27 AHL games, his first full season there since jumping over from college.

The San Jose Sharks have signed undrafted defenseman Matt Tennyson to an entry level deal.

Tennyson is the first player signed who was developed in the Junior Sharks program in the San Jose area. He played his college hockey at Western Michigan and managed to score 11 goals and 24 points in his senior year. Look for the blueliner to spend a lot of time in the minors.
