Chris Wagner will make his Avalanche debut Tuesday.

He is expected to center the third or fourth line, which will depend on the availability of John Mitchell. Mitchell is still day-to-day with an oblique injury and he didn't practice Monday. Wagner was claimed off waivers from Anaheim over the weekend.

Nov 16 - 4:36 PM

A day after being waived by the Ducks, Chris Wagner has been claimed off waivers by the Avalanche.

The 24-year-old forward has yet to make much of an impact at the NHL level. Through 20 games he has 19 PIMs and 54 hits, and has yet to tally a point through 24 shots. Wagner will only ding the cap at $600K at the NHL level. In a related move, the Avs have retroactively to Nov. 10th placed Semyon Varlamov on I/R to make room on the roster.
Nov 15 - 12:59 PM

The Anaheim Ducks have placed Chris Wagner on waivers.

The 24-year-old has no points, 17 penalty minutes and a minus-2 rating in 11 games for the Ducks in 2015-16. He's likely to pass through waivers unclaimed.
Nov 14 - 3:29 PM

Chris Wagner has yet to score at the NHL level.

Wagner is seeing fourth line duty and played a team low 4:39 Friday. He has now played in 11 games this season and played the same last year which included two playoff contests. "I’ve scored at pretty much every other level in my life," Wagner said. "It’s the NHL. What do you expect? It’s going to be hard. But it’d be nice to get a good bounce. Maybe off my head or something. I don’t care as long as it goes in." Wagner was a star in college at Colgate and it's just a matter of time before he finally tickles the twine in the NHL.
Nov 14 - 4:54 AM

Chris Wagner and the Sharks Brenden Dillon each got 15 minutes in penalties Saturday and were tossed out of the game.

The pair was considered to have had a secondary fight after Micheal Haley and Clayton Stoner got into fisticuffs so the referee gave both Wagner and Dillon five and a game. It was Wagner's first minutes of the season. He is not a fantasy gem with no points and a minus-one rating in eight games.
Nov 8 - 5:46 AM

Chris Wagner will dress in Monday's game versus Chicago.

It was initially speculated that he would be scratched as an extra skater after he was brought up from the minors, but he will skate on the fourth line. Chris Stewart will be a healthy scratch.
Oct 26 - 6:27 PM

Chris Wagner has been called up by Anaheim.

The Ducks had one spot open on the 23-man roster, so Wagner may end up just being an extra forward for the road trip. Wagner made his season debut back on Oct. 16 versus Colorado.
Oct 26 - 12:52 PM

Chris Wagner has been assigned to the minors.

He has played in one game with the Ducks this season and it came on Oct. 16 against Colorado. Wagner had one shot and a minus-1 rating in 11:03 of ice time.
Oct 20 - 6:48 PM

Chris Wagner has secured a spot with the Anaheim Ducks.

Wagner is likely to serve primarily as a bottom-six forward this season and it wouldn't be surprising if he spends a fair amount of time in the press box. Still, this is a big opportunity for him after he spent nine games with the Ducks in 2014-15.
Oct 6 - 8:36 AM

Chris Wagner has inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Anaheim Ducks.

Wagner will come with a $600,000 annually cap hit at the NHL level. He had 28 points and 65 penalty minutes in 48 AHL contests in 2014-15.
Jul 16 - 7:53 PM

Chris Wagner is slated to become a restricted free agent on July 1.

His value to the Ducks was bumped up on Friday with the news that Nate Thompson will need five-six months to recover from shoulder surgery forcing Anaheim to need a fourth line center. Whether the Ducks will re-sign Wagner or go and get someone else during the off-season remains to be seen. Wagner played twice in the playoffs before getting hurt in Game 2 of the first round. He was pointless in nine NHL games this season as well as both playoff games.
Jun 13 - 6:05 AM

The Ducks will use the same lineup they used from Game 4 in Game 6 Wednesday night in Chicago.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau will only make one change to his lineup card for Wednesday’s game inserting Emerson Etem for Tomas Fleischmann. That means defensemen Korbinian Holzer and James Wisniewski and forwards Chris Wagner and Tim Jackman will all join Fleischmann as healthy scratches for Game 6 Wednesday.

Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau suggested that Chris Wagner might end up playing in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final.

Wagner played in Anaheim's first two playoff games, but he got injured in Game 2 of the first round and hasn't been in the lineup since. He's been healthy enough to play since May 3, but until now Boudreau hasn't reinserted him into the lineup. Wagner has just 11 games worth of regular season and playoff experience combined in the NHL. If he does play, it will be as a bottom-six forward.
May 25 - 9:26 AM

Chris Wagner has fully recovered from the upper body injury he was dealing with.

Bruce Boudreau confirmed the news after Sunday's morning skate. Even though he's healthy, it's unclear when Wagner will be re-inserted into the Ducks' lineup.
