Chris Wagner is slated to become a restricted free agent on July 1.

His value to the Ducks was bumped up on Friday with the news that Nate Thompson will need five-six months to recover from shoulder surgery forcing Anaheim to need a fourth line center. Whether the Ducks will re-sign Wagner or go and get someone else during the off-season remains to be seen. Wagner played twice in the playoffs before getting hurt in Game 2 of the first round. He was pointless in nine NHL games this season as well as both playoff games.

The Ducks will use the same lineup they used from Game 4 in Game 6 Wednesday night in Chicago.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau will only make one change to his lineup card for Wednesday’s game inserting Emerson Etem for Tomas Fleischmann. That means defensemen Korbinian Holzer and James Wisniewski and forwards Chris Wagner and Tim Jackman will all join Fleischmann as healthy scratches for Game 6 Wednesday.

Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau suggested that Chris Wagner might end up playing in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final.

Wagner played in Anaheim's first two playoff games, but he got injured in Game 2 of the first round and hasn't been in the lineup since. He's been healthy enough to play since May 3, but until now Boudreau hasn't reinserted him into the lineup. Wagner has just 11 games worth of regular season and playoff experience combined in the NHL. If he does play, it will be as a bottom-six forward.
May 25 - 9:26 AM

Chris Wagner has fully recovered from the upper body injury he was dealing with.

Bruce Boudreau confirmed the news after Sunday's morning skate. Even though he's healthy, it's unclear when Wagner will be re-inserted into the Ducks' lineup.
May 3 - 2:03 PM

Chris Wagner (upper body) is skating and shooting but still is still unable to practice with the Ducks.

Wagner missed the last two games of the four game sweep over Winnipeg and is likely to miss the start of the Calgary Flames series. The fourth line center played well against the Jets when he was in the lineup and is a nice depth player for the Ducks.
Apr 26 - 6:15 AM

Chris Wagner (upper body) skated on his own Friday.

It's not clear how close he is to returning, but this is obviously an encouraging step in the right direction. The Ducks eliminated Winnipeg in four games, so he still has a decent amount of time to recover before he's in danger of missing another contest.
Apr 24 - 5:34 PM

Chris Wagner (upper body) will be on the sidelines for Monday’s Game 3 contest with the Jets.

Wagner suffered an upper body injury during Game 2 Saturday night and was unable to return. Consider the bottom-six forward day-to-day. It appears Tomas Fleischmann will take his spot in the lineup Monday night.
Apr 20 - 5:18 PM

Chris Wagner suffered an upper body injury in the first period and did not return.

The bottom-two center made his NHL debut this season but failed to pick up a point in any of the nine games he dressed for. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Apr 19 - 6:12 AM

Chris Wagner will be in the lineup on Thursday against Boston.

He was born in the Boston suburb of Walpole and is expecting to have up to 200 family members and friends in attendance for the game. Wagner hasn't played since Feb. 27 and he's dressed in three matches with the Ducks this season.
Mar 26 - 5:38 PM

Chris Wagner, who was recalled from AHL Norfolk, will be scratched against the NY Rangers on Sunday night.

Wagner, still just 23 years old, has not produced during his first three games in the NHL. But he's put together another nice season for Norfolk with 15 goals, 28 points, and 65 PIMs through 48 games. He's recorded 27 goals, 77 points, 198 PIMs in 194 career games for Norfolk.

Chris Wagner will be scratched against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.

Wagner has seen just three games with the Ducks this season, and has little to show for his efforts. The 23 year old center is however on track to produce new career highs in goals (13), assists (13), and points (26) for AHL Norfolk through just half the season.
Mar 6 - 7:41 PM

Chris Wagner has been called up by the Ducks.

He was just sent to Utah of the ECHL to remain close to Anaheim and now he's back with the big club. Wagner has appeared in three games with the Ducks this year.
Mar 5 - 4:49 PM

Chris Wagner has been sent to ECHL Utah.

The Ducks opted to send Wagner to the ECHL instead of the AHL because they wanted him to play closer to Anaheim. In other words, they want him to be able to rejoin the Ducks in a shorter time when/if they recall him. He has 13 goals and 26 points in 41 AHL contests in 2014-15.
Mar 5 - 8:54 AM

Chris Wagner has been promoted by the Anaheim Ducks.

Wagner has 13 goals and 26 points in 41 AHL games in 2014-15. He's not likely to have much, if any, fantasy value in standard leagues during his stint with the Ducks.
